I've locked Fenerbahce -1AH...i think they are the favorites to advance, and they should consider themselves unlucky not to be playing in the Champions League right now. I watched the reverse fixture with Dynamo Kyiv, they dominated despite playing the second half with a man down, missed quite a lot of chances, including a penalty. I'm not sure why they went back into their own half in extra time, played a lot more defensively in an attempt to force penalty shootouts i guess...and eventually, they got punished.

According to my scouting report on Slovacko, the team is mostly made up of local players, with only one or two international guys. They finished fourth last season, about 20 points behind Plzen, nothing really that impressive in their preseason matches, with the exception of the aforementioned tie with Trabzonspor. Btw, Fenerbahce's team market value is more than 20x that of Slovacko...

I wonder how Fenerbahce will play today against Slovacko... The Turkish club successfully dropped out of the Champions League due to poor results, but now they have a good opportunity to prove themselves in the Europa League... The bookmakers of course made Fenerbahce the clear favourite, but recently Slovacko played Trabzonspor 2-2... I would wonder...

It seems that Man United have built a nice team and the necessary other reinforcements are also on the way. With the new coach, United is certainly one of the contenders to win the title at the EL. However, there are many other teams that are equal or close, so it is certainly not a foregone conclusion. It would be nice if we get a final again just like last year with two teams that are lesser on paper. I'm not sure what to expect from Arsenal. They can play beautiful football, but too often changeable, resulting in certain failures.
.
With their performance as of late, I think the the Gunners are capable of carrying the EL and even tho they can be unpresentable sometimes, I'm certain Arteta will be correcting that anomaly.
With their pattern of play, they can upset Chelsea and even Liverpool in the Premier league standings.

Well, would you know it, we get our round of games today and some familiar faces already starting out. My picks of what I'd say are favourites are Maribor, Fenerbahce, Olympiacos and even Shamrock Rovers -- but if you're like me and you love upsets, I'd bet against all of these guys tonight!

Any special insights from anyone?

I think its still really early for us to guess who will be the winner of EL. Last year everyone was thinking Barcelona was gonna take it and they got knocked out early in the playoffs. So even with Man Utd being one of the best teams it will be hard to win it because its a lot harder now

Didn't pay attention to the poll but to answer the question I selected Arsenal.
Well it is very early to pick a team right now but until now I find that Arteta is making a lot of effort to build a strong squad without forgetting that Arsenal was doing good in the previous season.
If I could select another team it would be Roma, mainly due to presence of Mourinho.
For ManU, I am not very confident about them yet. It appears that they are getting better, they won with 4 goals to 0 vs Liverpool but it is a friendly game after all.

Manchester United have reached full agreement with Barcelona for Frenkie de Jong, after further talks. Package worth €85m. Fee guaranteed around €75m plus add-ons. 🚨🇳🇱 MUFC

Personal terms, still the issue to be resolved - as Frenkie’s priority is to stay at Barcelona.
I think this comment is better suited for the ⚽ Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions as this is where the talks about most of the deals go down. Here is a new thread for the Europa League competition although, Manchester United is a team in the Europa League, what your talking about at the moment is transfers!

Thanks bro

these europe league games are giving me headaches, i tried to place bets on some of them but the result is a big disaster, predicting the result of a game between strange teams is the hardest thing that is being for me, it seems that these teams are matching each other to get these results. It's not possible that I can't make a profit in these games. I'm giving up betting on these games Angry

Don't take the tour games so serious, Manchester United has enough shitty hell stuff's to handle out even the coach knows that very well.

it reminded me that cristiano ronando seems to devalue this europe league a lot, he is trying hard to leave manchester united because he doesn't want to play in the europe league. I wonder what's so humiliating to play in the europa league? although I particularly hardly watch these europa league games, I only bet on the games

I think this Europa League season will be won by an English or Spanish club,
An English club most likely, and if I am to be more specific, I would say either Arsenal or Manchester united. Arsenal first because we played well last season but Tottenham stole our spot to the champions league because of the better quality their squad had. Arteta has really made some useful additions to the team in the likes of Jesus and co, With a complete squad, if not plagued by injuries, we can go really far. Manchester United will also want to prove a point, their new coach is building a new team, one that doesn't revolve around Ronaldo, and that is good. In their pre season game against Liverpool, we saw an improved performance, next season is going to be better most certainly.

Laughable to say Tottenham Hotspur stole Arsenal's spot on the league table. And for the winners it's totally Unpredictable I can't make a final conclusion on who wins. Premier League Club's ?  Too many strenuous game's in the premier league you need depths and the Europa league is played on Thursday nights.

Don't take the tour games so serious, Manchester United has enough shitty hell stuff's to handle out even the coach knows that very well.

I think it's mostly going to be an English team like you've suggested. They came quite close last season and we've often seen them to form most of the dominant side in the competition and this season, we've seen teams like Manchester United and Arsenal to be working deals out to improve there squad. They are sure to do well.

I think this Europa League season will be won by an English or Spanish club, as has usually been the case for the last 10 years... To be honest last season I was very surprised to see teams from Germany and even Scotland playing in the finals... Although lately some Italian clubs have been playing very well too... Roma or Lazio also deserve to play in the finals...

As I suggested in CL thread, It would be nice to implement a poll where we can suggest a winner from which league then in mid season or round of 16 we modify the poll to include clubs.
Here it is more complicated to vote directly in clubs since teams from CL will join EL once they lose there.
