During this event, it was not that awe not like the main events for the UFC this was just a fight night but because I was bored and had nothing to do I might aswell take my time in making my predictions on some of the fights, and this event was UFC Fight Night: Ribas vs. Namajunas I hate watching all women division whether it is boxing or MMA as it is not the same as watching with the guys fight, but seeing that this is a little different as both Ribas and Namajunas are interesting fighters here are my pick.

Amanda Ribas VS Rose Namajunas

Even though I don't like the women's fights this is kind of interesting as for the odds it is 2.75 for Amanda Ribas and 1.46 for Rose Namajunas, for this fight I think Manon Fiorot is a better striker than Amanda Ribas even though Rose Namajunas lost to Manon for sure Rose Namajunas is a cleaner striker than Ribas, because Amanda Ribas got those 1 and 2 combination but that was it she doesn't have a better output with her striking so for me I think I will go with Rose Namajunas.

Edmen Shahbazyan VS AJ Dobson

For this fight, the odds were 1.50 for Edmen Shahbazyan and 2.60 for AJ Dobson for me Edmen Shahbazyan is a better striker than AJ Dobson even though he got a lot of trouble when it comes to great grapplers I think that AJ Dobson is not a great grappler yes he can take the fight to the ground but Edmen Shahbazyan has great takedown defense and it was already improved since then for sure the fight will be on a favor for Edmen Shahbazyan so my pick is Edmen Shahbazyan.

Payton Talbott VS Cameron Saaiman

In this fight, the odds are 1.64 for Payton Talbott and 2.27 for Cameron Saaiman, for this fight Cameron Saaiman is great with his ground game and both fighters are great prospects so this is going to be a good match for sure, but Payton Talbott for me has good striking and even though Cameron Saaiman has wrestling it is not that smooth and Talbott's takedown defense is improving for sure so my take in this fight I think that Payton Talbott could win I like his striking so my pick is Payton Talbott.

UFC Vegas 89 is in full gear with media day yesterday showing what the main event fighters are thinking ahead of their bouts.
At first I was going to side with Namajunas but then just as you explained, this would only her second fight at this weighclass. And Fiorot seemed to dominate her during this entire bout except for near the ending of the fight.
So I will be going with Ribas on this one. She has the experience fighting at this weight.
We will see how it goes at the weigh-ins tomorrow.

Yeah, that's cool.

Amanda Ribas ‘If You Want To Be A Legend, You Have To Beat a Legend’ | UFC Vegas 89
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8bl22qiUgKs

She looks excited and pretty. She is hoping to have 3 fights this year again. Wow!
"I'm prepared for all 5 rounds," said Ribas.
So this is the first 5 rounder for Ribas in the UFC, I guess that's one of the advantages of Namajunas because she had been doing 5 rounds a lot of time.
I guess that's one of the reasons why Ribas was so excited. Namajunas on the other hand, has 5 wins and 2 losses in 5-round fights. The big question is if they will use this strategy to check if Ribas has the stamina to go for long-distance fights.
This is just the 2nd fight of Namajunas in the Flyweight Division while Ribas had been jumping back and forth to both weight classes.

Yeah, both are good strikers so I guess it might go long, Round 5 decision maybe? Guys, share your picks.

Nice promo video released by UFC on their official youtube channel earlier in the week for this UFC Vegas 89 event:
UFC Vegas 89: Ribas vs Namajunas - March 23 | Fight Promo

Actually looking forward to this fight with Rose vs Amanda since they both have similar fighting styles and body types. Long and lanky which make for some good strikes.

Okay, that was freaking amazing.

Tuivasa's elbows are crazy strong, he cut Tybura in just a minute of Round 1. But he made lots of mistakes. First, he let Tybura fake him until he got his hands to take him down. Tuivasa tried a good defensive stance but Tybura used all his power just to carry him, strong man. Another mistake is giving his back. I don't know what he is thinking but that mistake cost him the fight. His option was just to let the time run out while being down and facing him in half defense. It's better if you are looking at your opponent and can see what he is trying to do than giving you back to him without any view of what is happening.
Tybura did a great job, he knows the enemy is the time so he finished it quickly.
Other than the three fighters missing weight it turned out not to be that bad.
The major upset was Ovince St. Preux winning his match as he was one of the oldest fighters going against an up and comer of the UFC in Kennedy Nzechukwu who was unbelievably 1.15x odds to win.
But experience seemed to be on St. Preux's side for this bout. He took all of Nzechukwu's heavy blows and then some. Well deserved win of the night for the big underdog!

The most controversial fights of the night was certainly Bryan Battle vs Ange Loosa.
After the eyepoke Ange said he couldn't see only after less than a minute. The referee didn't even mention to him he had a full 5 minutes to recover so to see if he can continue on with the fight.
But it was called off since he said he can't see out of that eye.
Battle was winning the match and was obviously very upset after this result because he said Loosa took the chickens way out knowing he was losing the fight.
So it was declared a no contest, so no bonus for Battle either. That is what made him mad the most since he spent so much time in training just to have this NC and on his record due to someone not taking the full amount of time to recover.

Tybura had this match as soon as he was able to get Tuivasa off his feet.
Tai has a terrible ground game and is probably going to get choked out if he is taken down.
As was the case with how this main event went.
So good for Marcin Tybura on winning and surviving those brutal elbows at the very beginning.

This weekend's UFC event looks to be a fun one with Tai Tuivasa who brought the shoey celebration to the fans of the sport.
Just to see him do this I would want him to win. Grin

Yeah, bloody face, lots of cuts. Suga Sean hits the target like it's a bull's eye. Cheesy So accurate and the precision of the distance is there. I think a brawler is what UFC needs to face him better. Someone who could also take all those punches and yet can counterattack too. Those long arms are his best asset.

Anyway, UFC Fight Night 239: Tuivasa versus Tybura is coming up next.

Don't think we will be seeing Marlon Vera fight for a long while until he recovers from that full five round massacre.
Suga Sean O'Malley displayed a masterclass performance and what the Suga Show is all about.
He could face Merab and still turn out a few more fights for the year.

As for the one more bout we were all waiting to be announced for April's main event.
It is Renato Moicano vs Jalin Turner so to complete the schedule for UFC 300:

I'm surprised Chito was still standing after that big knee of Suga Sean in the 2nd round. In striking, we can see the big difference, Sean is just too accurate with his punches.

Some spark from Chito in the 4th round but he must continue with his rampage. When he stops, Sean would just use his accurate punches again and jab him to hell so Sean still wins that round. 0-4 in favor of Sean.
Chito needs a knockout to win in the final round.

In the final Round, first minute Chito is hurt and whenever that happens he becomes aware of every punches that Sean will throw which means he will shell again at every feint move.

If only Chito had been aggressive from start to finish, it may have had a different result. It's obvious Suga Sean was exhausted when the fight ended which means even with a small amount of attack that went in from Vera, it still affected him.
Chito was also tough, damn that chin. He could really use that as an advantage when he is attacking.

UFC 299 was a really good fight card with alot of the fighters many MMA fan's predictions going very well.
Underdogs were getting those wins many were going for regardless.
Dustin Poirier beating Saint-Denis in the co-main was a great example of those who liked seeing the Diamond coming back.
Petr Yan was good to see as many saw him being washed up after having four losses and not looking good to continue if he lost to Song Ya Dong. But somehow he came back with top notch takedowns and wrestling that he was known for in octagon.

Sean O'Malley didn't disappoint and just destroyed Chito's face with a knee that could be heard threw out the Arena when it landed.

Merab had tried to congratulate Suga Show after the match at the back hallway but Sean didn't seem to recognize him.
It was a funny thing to see:

He is the full story and it was what he said after his win:

MVP huh, they already have an abbreviation for him just like most of the veterans on the UFC roster and he hasn't even stepped foot in the octagon for his new organization yet.
Since he is from the UK there was some footage out with him training with Tom Aspinall.
As one person put it during the weigh-ins yesterday, these two are dopplegangers.
Holland has the reach and exact same fighting style as Page so this will make for an interesting fight for sure.
I believe that is why the odds are so close.

Actually the entire main card has fights that are very hard to decide on who will win their bouts and you just have to make a choice and stick to it. That's all you need to do.

Merab is the backup fighter and weighed in yesterday just incase. So it would be good if Suga Show won because fans want to see those two go at it ever since the jacket wearing incident with Aljo.

As for the co-main event, it is 5 rounds so this one will test Saint Denis cardio because we all know Poirier can go the distance but the question is, can he comeback from that devastating loss to Gaethje?

Think I will be betting fight by fight and rolling the winnings into the next fight until the end.
No parlay busters for me this time! Grin

Suga still can fight Merab if he loses against Chito. I don't think there will be another 3rd fight when this happens, he has to face Merab. I feel like Chito can win again, Sean will be very focused on hurting Chito he'd go for every opportunity he finds will can very likely be careless.

It's a bit late for Page almost past his prime but I think we still can see him do his tricks. Prime Page vs Kevin would have been a more exciting match. If Kevin loses this fight, I think Page will have a shot at the title fight after 3 or 4 fights.

Last 7 mins cover their first fight, sean is pretty big favorite and i think he will definitely win , perhaps win by KO is the best bet at 3.5+ odds.
That would perfectly setup fight #3

UFC 299 is finally here with Media day in about 5 and 1/2 hours from now.
Countdown to it can be seen here on MMAFightingonSBN's channel:
UFC 299: O'Malley vs. Vera 2 Media Day Live Stream | MMA Fighting

Debut of Michael Venom Page is one of those fights were the odds are good to take since this fighter has had a very high success rate in his MMA fights in the UK and just in transition into the UFC.

Most if not all the fights are very difficult to choose who will win in their bouts except for the main event.

MVP? From Bellator right?
Against Kevin Holland? Looking at the odds, Holland is the favorite but I guess it could be a trap because not many UFC fans will expect MVP to dominate especially those who do not know him.
I just finished watching his highlights and yes, he is indeed a strong fighter with an awkward style. I mean he has a lot of tricks in his bad.
We will see. Holland is not to be underestimated too even though he just came back from a loss against Maddalena. He has the experience though and he can use that to take advantage against his opponent.

Main Event.
I am with Suga Sean all the way.
Marlon Vera is strong with submission skills but I want to see Suga Sean get his revenge so that maybe we can have a trilogy and that will be fun on who is really the strongest among them. Cheesy
But if he loses here, I bet it will affect him mentally and who knows if he will come out stronger in their next meeting.
Still, I am more optimistic that he will win this fight. I can imagine his face already gritting his teeth to get his revenge.

Co-Main Event.
Benoit Saint-Denis. Without a doubt.
This dude had been winning all of his recent fights. Ground and Pound, Submissions, there's just too much talent for that guy and all he needs is that takedown attempt to be successful and I bet he can do many things to end the fight.

Good luck to everyone that will make some parlays here. It's difficult to decide as the odds on the last 5 games are so close, but I will go for it too.

Guys such as Gazlev shouldn't be in the UFC let alone headlining a main event.
He certainly can't go five full rounds and nobody would want to see that even if it did. The fighter was on the verge of having a heart attack the way he was breathing if Jairzinho didn't put him out from the first few punches into the last round.

As you say, onto the next UFC Main Event which is making itself out to be a good one.
Aljamain of course has something to say about this main event bout with O'Malley taking on Vera:
"Sterling predicts O’Malley avenges his loss to Vera, but narrowly gets by."

I don't understand why his cornermen are trying to hide it. Are they trying to let Gaziev continue the fight even with the handicap? That is one of the things I am curious about.
I mean, he had been telling something ever since he sat down after the 4th round. Fighters rarely talk when they are resting, they mostly just listen to their coaches but this time it was different, he was talking there saying something, it just meant something was wrong and the cornermen should've been the one who told the referee that he cannot continue, but it seems they don't want to admit his defeat so they will roll the dice at Round 5. That is one bad coaching, in my opinion.

From the start of Round 2, he was already exhausted with his mouthpiece hanging out breathing in the mouth. That dude badly needs to train his stamina. He got used to ending the fight super early, but now the gatekeeper stopped him.
Bigi Boy Rozenstruik was definitely a great fighter, those jabs are all punishment to Gaziev and he showed that he improved his take-down defense too. He didn't lie or just made it up.  Grin Gaziev only got one chance and it was never repeated.

UFC 299 is next. That will be exciting.
