This is a good thing i think since Cryptocurrency thing is growing so big in 2017 much people use Cryptocurrency right now so it's make people and coin holder more easy to donating without sell their own asset into Fiat Currency first.

Bitcoin and its activities keeps getting better and that is a plus for its users. I cannot not wait to hear/see our local shops accepting bitcoins and the other cryptos in exchange for goods and services.

You are a little wrong. They also accept all tokens on Ethereum (ou tokens ERC20)

This is indicated in the list. It turns out they take thousands of currencies and believe in their future)

Accepting donations in a currency =/= believing in its future. I would call it a stretch to say that UNICEF "believes in the future" of all ERC20 tokens when the vast majority of them are trash.

I mean, I doubt they'd go through the trouble of accepting these things if they thought there was no future in them. There's no reason to go through the trouble of accepting cryptocurrency if you think it's a fad that will die in a year or two.

This is a good news as an international institution accept bitcoin as legal. needs more institutions to accept the existence of bitcoin. bitcoin is the future of currency. and a revolution after fiat currency. journey starts from barter system and reaches now to digital cryptocurrency. may be more to come but journey would never end until life.

Therefore, we would be very grateful if the BitcoinTalk community could help us by giving us your feedbacks on the pages, what to improve, to add or to correct, and better if you can relay the information to your network, and even better, if you could make a little donation to encourage the hesitating ones.

Thank you for any help you can provide !

yes they are accepting Bitcoins and out files from a lot of days because if there are accepting donations in Bitcoins they can earn a little bit of profit also which can be used for the children and as Bitcoin is having many advantages so now a days everyone is accepting Bitcoins.

Payment Gateway Allows Recurring Payments
I think this is definitely a welcome change, makes donating far simpler than it used to be. Though the era of traditional charities might be coming to an end since there is no end-to-end tracking of the funds. Too often you hear reports about charities woefully mismanaging funds, or hearing that the the vast majority of funds are siphoned off by governments and officials that take a big cut before distributing the rest to those who actually need it.

Reminds me of Bitgive, check it out it.

Unicef is a pretty well known organization, that's pretty good, I wonder if they are using a payment processor.

Personally, I really appreciate with your effort and UNICEF France to accept donations in BTC and cryptocurrencies (ETH / ERC 20 Tokens). It seems UNICEF giving a good attention on crypto. This should be a good way to get more donations. Crypto enthusiasts also can participate easily by using BTC or ETH (ERC 20).

By the way, I see it is not first time UNICEF utilizes cryptocurrency for donation. At least, I read it in some articles:

This is very nice for who just got profits from trading and want to give some for charity.
Sometimes we (crypto traders) want to do charity from our profit but too lazy to convert it to fiat. Thanks unicef Cheesy

They also provide links on that page so you can mine on their behalf.

The ERC angle is what gladens my heart because it means tokens there will start appreciating. This is what has been waited for. Hopefully, we are going to see better days ahead of holders.

well maybe when we all get have a good profit then why not, we can share all our blessings to those who are in need. Grin

Yes we can do that if the news of accepting erc tokens is real.  Smiley

That's great news! I always wonder why there aren't more NGOs that accept crypto for donations.
Seems easy enough to offer and I would think they want as many people to donate as possible. Makes sense to offer a lot of options.

Since you work there, do you have access to any statistics regarding how much has been donated with crypto?

About time they did this! I'm ecstatic for UNICEF! I'm sure donations from the crypto side will start coming in left and right. Looking forward to more programs embracing crypto payments.

Great news, thank you for sharing.
I hope that Unicef in other countries will also offer such possibility.
It's great to see that they are trying to open to the young people.

This makes it easy for coin owners to donate by accepting cryptocurrency coins as a payment method. I think this is good news and also things that have a positive impact on the survival of social life.
