Wow . . . busy Friday night! Enjoyed, B.C.'s, B.N.'s, F.K.'s and Nat's posts most: pretty much my position.

Did all the farmhouse shopping yesterday care of Unobtanium cryptographic currency: 'gift cards' purchased with Uno here in Oz.

EDIT: 'At tier 1 you don't have to upload ID' I had to upload ID to get from Tier 0 to Tier 1.

I don't trust them with anything. I am verified on Circle, and that's how it shall remain. They have been completely shadowy with everything for many months now, and to me, have not proven trustworthy for anything.

I've been getting a few coins here and there. Not much buying though, I'm riding out this slump.

I didn't think verifying at Cryptsy was too much. At tier 1 you don't have to upload ID, and you can still withdraw $2k in crypto per day. You need to upload ID and a picture to get to tier 2 and withdraw fiat... I have no need for that as fiat's not my game. For what it's worth I've never had an issue with transfers and I don't really sense that Cryptsy is goxing. I also only keep the coins on there I'm actively trading.

Anyway besides that I was just popping in to see if anyone else was out trying to catch some precious UNO knives? Don't think this bargain buy-low price point will last very long.

Wow! That doesn't bode well for Uno market on Cryptsy.  Can Bittrex be far behind?

I mean...  $100 per MONTH??  thats like 1/3 bitcoin that can be withdrawn without jumping through all of the KYC hoops. Are my Uno friends around the world willing to do that?
Sorry to those of you who were caught in this net.

On the flipside, this is probably good news for Cryptopia markets, though.

It really does look as though regulators put Cryptsy's balls in a vice.

Talk about in on Crypto.cat tonight,  channel:  Unobtanium

Well, I say we make use of shapeshift when possible, and pursue other exchanges. I always used Crytpsy for UNO until Cryptopia. So it's only those two exchanges for me now. I should look into making a Bittrex account... within a year or so, I postulate all exchanges dealing in USD will get the crackdown. I will always be down to buy chunks of UNO the pure and true peer-to-peer method of BTC for UNO with escrow or otherwise. Crypto needs to get back to it's roots of unhindered p2p purpose. Miners selling directly to buyers through OTC and escrow is ALL CRYPTO NEEDS. Write this down.

It's happening..

Now you are only allowed to withdraw up to $100 worth of crypto a MONTH from Cryptsy without being verified to at least a "Tier 1" in their new system. I'm glad I moved my UNO out of there early on with TWO "free" withdrawal vouchers. I will never use Cryptsy again. I could see a very rare occasion if there were 20 UNO or less sitting there for a snipe buy, but I'm not supporting this type of behavior. I do not care if the government cracks down on exchanges. That means it's time to bring on the real decentralized exchanges then. Regulation is about to overtake cryptocurrencies.

Sad times. Just over 3 years, I guess we had a good run.  Cry

This is what makes Uno different

It's easy to copy the technical specs.

But... a new cryptocurrency has to take 2 years to become a 2 year old currency, and by the time that happens Uno will be 4 years old. Some of Unobtanium's unique characteristics are not automatically obtainable.

It's difficult to duplicate the community, the longevity, the fairness.
Until a new coin has been truly tested, you don't know if it will fold up or if its community will scatter at the first sign of trouble.

Uno was gifted with all around fairness, but has accumulated its other assets through trial and longevity.

HC has launched lots of coins. He has kept his favorites running for years, sometimes at personal cost.  He likes to try new things. He knows what he's doing, even if he doesn't act like our personal genie in a bottle.   We know this to be true because we have watched him work over time.  The other unknown, unproven invisible devs with newbie accounts... you just don't know.   Two years from launch, much is now known about what Un is.  A lot of risk has been driven out of Un over time thanks to what we have seen, measured and come to know. We've already answered the question, "is Uno going to fold up and go away," and the answer is NO!

So when people say "It's like Uno!"  I just smile.

The Osmiumcoin dude tried to leech off the good reputation of Unobtanium by saying it's "the next UNO". He's said it in bitcointalk threads, on his ANN post and in exchange chat boxes. It was 100% to get ICO money and he has 0 affiliation with UNO. Every time he's mentioned it in this thread I've reported to moderator and it was deleted. Thanks to SirSmokes and RDD for expressing that as well.

I just wanted to make that clear.

Apparently this is the guy behind "PunisherCoin" if the link in his trust profile is correct. Both coins fit the same profile, and because of the heavy ICO I consider it a scam.

Yeah. That's what OCMiner said as well. Should not have anything Osmium or other coin related promoted like that in this thread. He has his own thread/s for that.

i get that.  (after some more detailed review of what's up in the BTC threads)
no endorsement. (seems to be an yobit ico)
but.
if you want to riff't off the good rep. of UNO, then earn your privileged.
if the OSmi guy can code, then he is best served by utilizing his talents to further established products.
if he wants to waste his time on the burnt out ico route, best of luck.

HagbardCeline: Great to see you stop by and drop a line. There are plenty of people that appreciate the development that you do and continue to support UNO. There are bound to be whiners because all they care about it buying something low and selling it for higher with commodities. Those people are easily ignored. UNO is really rock-solid. BTC barely garnered any attention in the first two years, so here's to two more years for UNO!

These guys trolling just keep creating new accounts.

Sorry to be blunt, but "partnering" or whatever with these other copy coins like Osmium is a terrible idea. I won't support it.

This, UNO, *is* the fair and rare crypto commodity and we do not need another.

Why do you think Uno has lasted as long as it has?   I hear a lot about what we're doing wrong, but what has been done right?  And can we do more of that?

1. MM
2. Value over Hyp and Flare
3. Community / Talent
4. Rare and Fair (the core design and principle)
5. Base Pair
6. Multiple Exchanges and always driving for more

2016 we move more towards marketing, perhaps a little formal structure of divisions of responsibility.
We've achieved more than most, and in this new year I think we can strive to hype what we've done.
Cheers now raise your beers.

@Esperansa ...  UNO is the "105 Year Old Master of Malt"

Cheers later too, in 2021 we raise our glasses of 111 year old malt whiskey Wink
