methodic madness

The idea itself is great! To make the testnet a sidechain and - after that - maybe add some value in a technical way. Very interesting push for experimental sidechaining. Innovative idea! It was a good idea to give the baby a name.

Thought there is a masterplan behind this all.

Proto is not Uno because is not. And never going to be!

The slogan was: "Prototanium: Its like Unobtanium; because it is."

For this reason I thought, if it is like Uno, it is also "Fair, Rare, Resilient". Had trust in this!

It is anything but not fair!  It is nasty interference behind community back!

Pr isn't 'shut off,' thats fanatical blather. It has however slowly begun to mature and has moved to its own Github at:

https://github.com/Prototanium

It is also just about to get a few tweaks including additional nodes and the ability to merge mine. You all made it clear that Pr was superfluous and as such I don't have a lot of bandwidth for whining. Its not dead; Cryptopia's doing pool maintenance; Proto.uno had connections; Pr (like all my projects) works fine without needing daily babysitting.

Don't like me or my projects? Find another coin to shill.

Well Unobtanium is community project! You abandoned Uno long time ago. You proved one thing for sure that you are erratic and the community can not count on you.

Drama drama again! Tongue Price is going down ......

Maybe somebody should start it's solominer. Cryptopia Pool is down.
Without one miner this will not work!  Wink
The first will get 0,5 revenue per block. Time for good old Antminer USB stick.  Grin

https://www.cryptopia.co.nz/BlockExplorer?coin=PR
got addnode
maybe need to emergency go to bitnodes.net ($50)

(but if the github really gone? not sure)
edit: / HC seems to be updating/moving things

still just a good rule of thumb ... backup the geeethubs community (any community) ... elim all central points of failure  Cool

But then you need to transfer it from your wallet to the exchange when you wanna dump it lol A lot of the times the action from a pump seems to clog things up. Your coins need to be in the position to move at the drop of a hat or you might miss the ship!

That must be a part of the thinking, but realistically most actual pumps last at least a week. It takes like 20 minutes to send UNO and get it confirmed in an exchange & the last pump lasted 40 days.

Maybe some people check prices less than once a month and just want to leave their coins hanging in a sell order. When Cryptsy expands their order book info we'll be able to see how much that is the case with UNO.

For people waiting for a pump I suggest storing their coins in a wallet then put http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/unobtanium/#charts in your bookmark bar and check it every few days. If the price looks like it's trending toward your sell target send some to exchanges.

One of the more absurd things in all the Cryptsy discussion threads is people saying that they logged in to withdraw funds but their account was locked due to inactivity. Regardless whether they were having unfair difficulties unlocking their account, the main thing here is that they left funds on an exchange for more than six months.

Let that sink in.

Crypto exchanges aren't banks! One of the strengths of crypto is that you can secure it yourself with no third party.

It never occurred to me to ask, but I wonder if PR is merge mineable, like Uno?

Yes, it is. Any 256 coin with auxpow can be merge mined.

It never occurred to me to ask, but I wonder if PR is merge mineable, like Uno? Or is it the "old" Un sidechain/testnet.
Anyway, I'll toss a USB miner on it as soon as it syncs here. There may not be any blocks for a while though, depending on the last difficulty.

Good luck to the Yobit effort! I'll do what I can to promote it.  I hope it brings new people into Uno.

Doesn't matter, BTC testnet is practically unusable. Use regression testing mode and make all the coins you want for testnet.

Yes, I bought it over 1 1/2 year and have a huge amount of Uno!

Also bought many Proto on cryptopia, honestly most of it (about 50%), now worthless! This makes no sense!  Undecided

I'm not sure what you're talking about. Proto is still listed on Cryptopia, in fact coinmarketcap recently added more of the info for Proto (available supply and market cap). I did see a couple of people discussing connectivity issues with HagbardCeline in a cryptocointalk thread a couple of weeks ago.

Edit: Just saw Siameze's post. That's awesome you created a backup!

Kind of sad that HagbardCeline bailed. I noticed people were getting a little salty about connection issues in the Proto cryptocointalk thread, and a couple of people in this thread gave him a hard time about Proto. Maybe he felt unappreciated...

If the information I have is correct, he has a right to be miffed (Feel free to review my conversation in the PRO otc thread).

The new Prototanium repo is here:

https://github.com/Prototanium/Pr

..but it looks like it's the same wallet with the same connection problems, for now. I have no idea who put it up though.

I hate to see Unobtanium's lil' bro suffer.
I brought my Uno wallet up on testnet, and I am synching with a node at 178.62.175.110.  I'll leave it up for a bit.

Before the Gekko brouhaha I purchased a VPS for proto node. I'll get it back online for a bit in a bit, been very busy with hamradio folks of late.
