Not now and not by Bryce. Seriously. Even the discussion turns me off big time cuz we'd be ready to move up a decent notch if we were undisturbed by the neophiliacs with their half baked experiments. We haven't even got a good looking wallet right now. Sidechains aren't an option before it hasn't been shown on another coin. And Mr. "Bryce-i-pay-no-attention-to-details-and-generally-am-not-available-or-have-communication-with-the-community-and busy-on-scamcoins-Weiner" won't be doing it.
Total veto as long as there isn't a more reliable dev team and a proof of concept on another coin can be shown.
Again: even the discussion of it is uncalled for atm (proof on other coin first not just some testnet)

Let's let some of the 7 bazillion shitcoins figure it out first.

Any foray Uno takes in such territory need not be the first, it needs to be the most elegant attempt at resolving a genuine need.  Not just tech for tech's sake.  Let's watch and think first.

+100

Well UNO has BW, and now "cptchadd". All we need is one more scam dev for a trifecta.

Why can't this coin attract some honest and helpful developers? Sad

It is a bitcoin clone, so probably?

I don't  understand the concept yet, but have downloaded a few articles to read on the plane tomorrow.

However, I do understand that this side chain thing is very new.

And I do know this about that:  pioneers are the guys laying facedown on the prairie with arrows in their backs.

Has there been any more info on who is what here?  Are they wanting to stay private and mine just for themselves?
If I could find one of the pools that merge mine (that isn't tiny), I'd move all of machines over.  About 5 TH worth.

Network sufficiently decentralised after merge mining implementation. It looks pretty good to me so far. Network is secure. One can sink money into that imo.

I have about ~150-200TH on xpool.ca

My address keeps changing so it's falling into the unknown bucket.

Cheers

Those of you who are having no problems with the daemon:

Are you using it with p2pool?

What distro are you running it on?

Thanks.

Chinese Invasion Update:

fox19891989 informs me that Pnoch has received and approved the final Drafts of the Chinese translations.  I have not heard back from Pnoch.

Translator would like to be paid his .3 BTC to

(redacted, sent privately to FK)

So, a few things need to happen now.

Pnoch, please authorize FallingKnife to pay fox19891989.

Also, Pnoch, please get in touch with Learminer and send him the text for the Uno website.  If you don't mind, please start a Chinese Unobtainium thread here on BTC Talk, and post the Chinese OP.

FallingKnife, please pay fox19891989 upon Pnoch's authorization.

Learminer, please create a Chinese Tab on our Uno website.

For the next phase of the project, I will search for someone to SEO the page for the Baidu search engine.  Also, (fox19891989) we would like someone to post and maintain a Weibo account called "Unobtanium", and that person will read Falling Knife's Uno Twitter page, and translate each new entry into Chinese.  50 cents per Tweet.  Will take no time at all, you can bill us monthly.

Are you interested, or can you find us someone fox19891989?

Thank you Gentlemen,

Gekko

Urlioman, welcome!

Yes, Gustav. Ian and I agree. Recent positive developments seem not to have 'kicked in' price-wise yet. We scraped together today the pennies for another Bitcoin for the Guild project.

The month is looking good. Making higher lows and +20% last 30 days.
This month it's 1 year bullmarket!

Uno: the only coin that's bullish all year round.  Cool

Some numbers for ya:

VTC emission: 28800 new coins every day. Current price: 24 cents
= approx 6900$ costs for inflation every day at this price

Uno emission: 7.5 Coins every day. Price today: 2.80$
= 21 $ costs for inflation to the holders of the coin evey day at this price

UNO compared to VTC is 60 times more efficient meaning: costs for running the coin to the VTC community at a marketcap for VTC of 3.5 mln $ is equal to the costs of running the coin to the UNO community at 210 mln $ cap.

in short: VTC causes its holders longterm costs 60 times as high as UNO does

#justsayin'  Wink

Uno is dirt cheap at this price given its monetary properties.

Hello FallingKnife & Bryce Weiner,

There seems to be an issue with the Unobtanium daemon & p2pool merge mining. While using the daemon on Xubuntu 14.04 64bit I am not receiving any merge mine payments at all, but if I switch to using the QT wallet - payments resume as normal. I've tested this over a 4 day period, it is constant. I get no errors when compiling the daemon or QT wallet as well as no errors in my p2pool logs - everything appears to be working fine, but the payments are not appearing in my wallet when using the daemon. Both the QT wallet & daemon use the same startup command & wallet database. I've posted in the p2pool thread about the issue:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11556398

I'm not sure if the issue is the same on other OS's.

Thanks.

EDIT: Issue raised on github.

Hi, welcome and thanks for reaching out to us. I'm emailing this Bryce, and also mentioned it to CaptChadd. I wish I was worth a satoshi when it comes to Linux.

There's more than one issue with the linux client, it continues to crash on my server.

The Linux daemon works fine. I have it running on several servers without any problems at all. I haven't tried any GUI interface for it, though, so maybe it has problems?

I have some guy from near singapore in irc. so can't wait to have a Chinese translation to point him to.

You don't have to sell UNO.

Uno is difficult to mine, and difficult to buy.  You must try hard to buy UNO.

Uno is bought, not sold.

 That's sounds like me.

Damn man ..Gekko - you sounds like me. Gekko's  transformation!  Almost Spartan from what I read recently. Looks like Gekko is in love in Un as any of us.?   Un-believable. I hope this is not just camouflage . Cheesy

Now somebody dump 100kg. and those disappear... Next year 10kg. max per dump. Probably followed from 1kg. max dump and people /buyers and sellers  start  realizing that 1 kg. is a damn huge. when we hit thinking in grams then the price gonna be where the conception of rare is. Unobtanium the time machine is working very well.

The OP page in Chinese is approved by @pnoch.  He has sent the webpage back to fox19891989 for revisions.

Do YOU speak Chinese?  We need someone to monitor Twitter, and repost on Weibo.

@ Crackfoo: hang in there!

[And Bitcoin Charlie holds 10 'spare' oz of bullion for DVC. Has for months now. Hat-tip to B.C.]

Glad to help! It's got dust on it, but it's still sitting there! LOL

Yes, the Guild remains small and experimental; but its 'Aggregated Resources' are steadily growing -- we're aiming at a coupla mil within 5 years.

+1

If you need to sell Uno, come and ask at the Guild. Keeping Uno out of Cryptsy's wallet is a primary goal.

I totally agree with selling the the Guild, let's drain Cryptsy's wallet!
