Excellent discussion today. I've updated the website with a number of changes I have been discussing with FK for the past week or two. If you notice any errors please be so kind to alert me, so that I can fix them before they get translated. Thanks!

Oh and woah, higher UNO volume on Cryptopia today than on Cryptsy! Someone really going after those 0% fee trades, lol.

Standing by for your go ahead on the translation.

I had pledged 1 UNO to this project several pages back. If target is reached I will hodl until next fundraiser.

A donation to 8bitcoder is in order as well. Very competent developer.

Hi,

You did not pledge to the translation fund.  Nor did IMZ.

You pledged to the BOUNTY fund, and I have not identified a bounty hunter yet.  That part of the plan may need to be revised.

The ONLY person that needs to send in coin now is Bitcoin National.

Having TOO MUCH MONEY IN THE WALLET DESTROYS MY NEGOTIATING POSITION.

We are showing the service provider that we have raised the funds.  If there are more funds on the table, the service provider will simply EXPAND THE AMOUNT OF TIME IT TAKES TO DO THE WORK AND TAKE THAT MONEY TOO.

The whole point of the block chain is to SHOW PEOPLE THINGS.

I want there to be exactly 26.83 UNO (.3 BTC) in that wallet and not a gram more!

Cheers,

Gekko

I’m half blind, and struggling to maintain a range of Uno-related tasks. Happy to send 12 Uno. But you’ll have to figure out the math.
Mark

I already did the math.  You are making more work for me.  We don't need your 12 UNO now.  Please follow marching orders.  There is now too much money in that wallet.

FK, please refund IMZ's 12 Kg or keep them, I don't care.

Just please get them out of the wallet we are showing Daniel Hu.

That's 2 over our pledge, to cover dust. Falling Knife will contact me if he has any further shortfall.

IMZ Mark

Hi IMZ,

Your pledge is not due at all.  You pledged for the bounty, not the translation.

FK:  please refund IMZ's kilos.  We will call on those pledges when it is time to pay a bounty.

Even the guys who pledged for the translation are only paying EXACTLY 44.7% of their original pledge.

The idea is, we only pay in as bills come due and I am keeping a detailed spreadsheet for budgeting.

Thus, I pledged 10 for this part, and another 10 to the bounty fund.  I was "called" as part of the translation group pledgers for 4.47 kilos.

This is not new fundraising guys!  This is simply a progressive call on previous pledges to pay a particular bill.

IMZ, as I explained and requested, please help FK AVOID dust by using your off floor trading facilities to guarantee him the exact price I used to calculate Daniel's .3 BTC fee.  At this point, that is the form of Help from you I would most appreciate.

I don't want a gram of UNO wasted.  I am a prudent and anal financial manager and your donations to this project deserve my best efforts at maximizing utility and transparency.  That is why I am only calling pledges to be honored for precisely what we need--precisely when we need it.

This also serves the purpose of allowing our translator to SEE his fee being collected:  trust through transparency.  We will need to show the SEO guy, and the Weibo translator that money flowing as well.

Current pledge call progress:

This is what everybody owes, proportional to their pledge.

BitcoinCharlie         4.47 (paid)
BitcoinNational       2.24
Gekko                    4.47 (paid)
SirSmokes             11.18 (paid)
Tertius993              2.24   (paid)
BitcoinCharlie          2.24 (Again, he pledged twice) (Paid)

Total                        26.83 UNO @  .011180285 should be more or less .3 BTC

So as you can see, we are now just waiting for BitcoinNational and Tertiius993 to send in their his pledge, then we are good to go for this part of the plan.

Thanks, Gekko

Network sufficiently decentralised after merge mining implementation. It looks pretty good to me so far. Network is secure. One can sink money into that imo.

"a newbie is thinking at a level of "where should my hands go?" "How much do I turn the wheel?" "How much do I press the pedal, which pedal is which?" etc. "

This is inspiring, Worth. IndiaMikeZulu talks about 'The 99%.' There's a still-increasing number of alts vying for a shrinking pool of funds. Better to head to Main Street, and induct a coupla million folks there. Humbly. Patiently. From go to whoa. For free.

Hey, Worth. Firstly, it's gratifying that I don't seem a dill to you: as a teacher -- I'm a retired technical-writing tutor -- you understand this oddity.

If you'll give Ian and I a few days to wrassle with some Internet problems here, I'll PM you. Yes! Your help would be most welcome.

What are we trying to cover? Gonna start with Paper Wallet Go-to-Whoa.

IMZ Mark

Yeah, it's a real problem and it's very widespread. I had the fortune of studying material on the human mind (NLP and related topics) from some very good teachers who explained the "4 levels" concept to me back in the late 90s and early 2000s.  With this perspective I couldn't help notice that most computer challenged were being taught by people who either didn't know how to teach but were good at technology, or sometimes people who weren't really good at either.

The result was about what you'd expect if a driving instructor got in a car with a brand new student who'd never driven a car before and said "OK, drive down the highway to exit 30, turn right on Main, drive three blocks and it's the first building on the right."  Those level instructions would work great for an experienced driver, but a newbie is thinking at a level of "where should my hands go?" "How much do I turn the wheel?" "How much do I press the pedal, which pedal is which?" etc.

So I resolved to make my lessons accessible to basically anyone - it means I go into more detail than more advanced students want to hear, but it's the way to make sure nobody is left behind. Anyway, happy to help; talk to you about it later.

Block 613403 today, difficulty hits 77 million at 1.8 phs. Highest I've ever seen it.
That's great, isn't it!

Also, the number four wallet in the rich list is still accumulating. He / she went over 5k $UNO ten hours ago!  Shocked

Hi cragv,
Thanks for your answer. I'm not trolling, sorry if i've sound like it. I just trying to understand what's going on.
I understand you're an active community, creating services to make Uno more interesting, active social media, great distribution (5 exchanges) but i see some point here:

- what does Uno have that doesnt have any other coin?

the price is 0.01091
a) people see it as valuable because is scarce and expensive (good)
b) but people like to have lot of coins (bad)
c) for that price they can buy litecoin or dash (bad)

- What reasons will the newbies have to join this community and not a more little one?

In a more little community their work is gonna be much more appreciated

All good, thanks for the level-headed discussion. Others have posted already but I will answer the bolded part in particular:

If a 'newbie' is looking to enter a position (particularly a long-term one) on a particular cryptographic currency, UNO offers numerous advantages over others:
- a fair foundation as an instrument (ie. fair launch),
- no inflation (just consider Bitcoin's considerable daily overhead),
- a secure network (particularly since merged mining was implemented), and of course,
- a strong historical performance, even with The Wolong Affair early on and more recently the various bumps and updates, various exchange compromises, etc.

If this 'newbie' is looking for reasons to join a community rather than a smaller one, they should look at your recent post history in this thread to help them make up their minds. Were your questions answered by a variety of people with varying views but with a common interest in UNO? Is there evidence to back up their comments? Did you stick around after the first few questions.....? There's your answer!

Cheers Smiley

[SIGH]

I have simply failed in my efforts to write (saleable) Basic Crypto Security instructions. Here's why:

https://cryptoguild.qnetau.com/viewtopic.php?f=14&t=3&p=488#p488

Ian and I will discuss it, and report to the community. (Our translator is likely to encounter similar difficulties.)

IMZ Mark

Maybe I can help.  I teach computers and technology to non-technical students for a living, and have for years.

Like you said in the link, it's difficult for people who are good at something to explain it to those who are not.  Once you reach the unconscious competency level, it can be extremely difficult to explain to someone still in the unconscious competency or conscious competency level.  See this video I posted to YouTube back in 2008:   https://youtu.be/c_jvC2BCZ9M?t=2m48s     (please excuse the video quality; one of my oldest recordings)

So what are you trying to cover? I may already have some of it covered in my existing cryptocurrency course material, or can record new lessons. Paper wallets for example have been on my to-do list.  Let me know.
