Hi,

Any news on Windows 32 wallet? And an ignorant question: If I have my wallet on a 32-bit machine, the only machine I have, does this mean I have to wait for the 32 version before I can use it?

Thanks!

I haven't heard any word from anyone on a Win32 wallet unfortunately. Sad

Having a good development environment so I can build for all OS's is on my to-do list. I'm close to meeting my funding goal to buy an extra box to do it on, as I'd rather do builds on a dedicated machine that isn't used for anything else.

Thanks siameze. This isn't directed at you, and I might be missing something, but why the fuck would there not be an immediate update for a win32 wallet when there's a hard fork?

protobuf-dev should work fine.

Still having problem with unobtaniumd constantly crashing. takes me 4-5 restarts to get it to stay online... then works for 5 or so hours sometimes longer up to 12.

A fix would be great:

What platform or OS are you using? This sounds like a memory allocation issue, valgrind should help narrow it down.

Debian wheezy. Its the only coin doing this.

total       used       free     shared    buffers     cached
Mem:      32961880   30365640    2596240          0     445704   13651636
-/+ buffers/cache:   16268300   16693580
Swap:       523260     441748      81512

Hmmm... I'm on Debian wheezy as well, no issues like that. AMD64 I'm guessing? Any hints in ~/.unobtanium/debug.log?

I am on Debian Jessie, AMD64. Boost gave me no end of troubles until I built with the flags: --with-boost=/usr/local/  CXXFLAGS="$CXXFLAGS -DBOOST_VARIANT_USE_RELAXED_GET_BY_DEFAULT=1"

Not sure if this will help in your situation. I will make a VM image of wheezy and see if I can reproduce.

Docs show to install the following:

Code:
sudo apt-get install libqt4-dev libprotobuf-dev protobuf-compile libqrencode-dev

FWIW, on Debian wheezy and jessie I haven't had any issues with boost. I've always made sure all boost libs are installed:

Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev

One item that I do differently:

Code:
./configure --with-incompatible-bdb

as I have no concerns about Berkeley DB backwards compatibility...

I meet all the req except protobuf-compile, deb seems to only have libprotobuf-dev

Meanwhile, lets just pause a minute to let the adrenaline settle. We can make the wallet pretty again, don't worry. In the mean time, lets appreciate the added blockchain security that has come with the 100x increase in hash Uno is getting, with more on the way.

Meanwhile on Comkort exchange https://comkort.com/trade/un_btc there's still bid to buy around 12.5 $UNO @ 0.0118 BTC.

Also on Let's Talk Bitcoin, there was an interesting speaker from Texas Bitcoin Conference named Adam Hayes featured on The Bitcoin Game Ep. #18.  The site is down for now, but the topic was "What Factors Give Cryptocurrencies Their Value:  An Empirical Analysis".  He concluded that around 85% of (66 commonly traded) coin's value comes from 1.) High hash rate 2.) Lower block reward 3.) Scrypt algorithm.  His statistical analysis revealed that total coin supply and coin age were insignificant.  He also touched on immeasurables that can give coins value like "brand/community loyalty" as in the case of Dogecoin where he would expect the fundamental value to be less (due to higher block reward, I assume).

Let's see if $UNO 100x price increase will follow $UNO 100x hash increase in the future.   Cool

So he concluded that the Scrypt algorithm somehow gave a coin it's value? That doesn't even make sense and makes his conclusion suspect. Bitcoin dwarfs all other alt-coins combined in terms of pretty much all those factors and does not use the Scrypt algorithm, therefore the Scrypt algorithm has absolutely nothing to do with it.

Code:
sudo apt-get install libboost-all-dev

My boost libs were installed, just not pointing to the correct location or w/e. On the other hand, I did the exact same build for a friend on Ubuntu according to the normal recipe and it worked fine. At any rate, my daemon runs flawless now so I couldn't be happier.

this wolong crew business is what worries me most about chasing the chinese market.

With 'bags' of USD to buy up land/gold/property & whatever else of value all over the world, its kinda scary.

i see first hand how aggressive and cold they are when it comes to shaving a profit.

Edgar is right here; but we've put our penny in the slot, and we get to ride the bull. We are way way wiser now than we were then, and the Guild will be an  invaluable asset.

Just ticked up more liquidity for Australian merchants over at the Guild. Many thanks to Tacktic.

This is astounding. The Unholy War is begun (and we'll come away laden with booty):

And who remembers our mascot*, that little yellow bundle of pinfeathers peeking out from behind his/her dad? Five-feet high now.

No shareholders!? we are all.we are all shareholders of this blue material stok.  Buy ,Hold and share but not for free. Bryce got big Uno. Blazr2 not much I think. Why he don't bought from the beginning big time, If he believe in his creation  of course Huh Or I and you  believe more than him in uno future....? Big thank U for the FAIR start, but excuse me Blazr2 you can do more for Un.

Back there when I listen the interview with him, he sound like sorry for something Huh Like we stole this project or something??? Yea it is a open project...so what. Nobody push him to quit the fight and believe in the future of uno. what's the full story anyway.....

welcome again CaptChadd ! Looking forward to see you more often here! not like other "devs" Angry

link to the interview, plz.

i really wonder about blazr2, i understand he has at least 3 coins and none of them seem to get much love.

im ready to be edumacated

@ 25 mins starts the Uno talk. I think he is talking about the wolong crew taking over the coin. Not that anyone took it over but rather were going to take it in a direction he never really considered the coin going in. At least that is what i got out of it.

I was able to make contact with Blazr2. He still loves us.

From all great news you wrote this one is my favorit Cheesy

IS there a reason that BLAZR2 should love us?

I don't know why microscope design was remove  from the wallet. Where is the KG metrics ?

I like the previous design much more. This wallet work just fine ,but design are zero. Like for some shit coin. Un is far from that.

I did not seen the look on the new wallet until now. But if U think we can stay with this non design wallet then something is wrong with you guys.

200 kg. for Blasr2 if he shows up an do some design and  help. I am sure he can accumulate more in the future if he stay around our community . why he is unhappy with us? Is somebody know what is the problem?...after all he create this coin!

I can't understand these guys nowadays. He create Mona Lisa and don't wanna show up to say which framework is perfekt on his art piece. WTF MAN

I agree with you on the design, I have plan to take some time to do some rework on the wallet (design + additional feature) and will post some screenshot for opinions.

Cheers!

I hear you guys. There were some missteps in May, no doubt.  I'll have more to say later.  I'm drinking my Friday night wine now... Smiley

Tell the truth, I'm pretty exhausted after an intense April/May.  I don't turn my back on the problems, but yet we still haven't taken much time to celebrate a TON of good things that have happened. I really need to celebrate our win in May now... We made a huge move forward, and despite the problems I never doubted we would get through it, not for a second.

I want to make sure you didn't miss this post a few pages back:

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/m.11477413

IMZ was right on. Do I wish we had not forked and had wallets on time?  Uh, yeah. I wish that really really bad. I'd like to get back that week of sleep that I missed. Could the rollout have happened better? Definitely.  Was I deservedly yelled at an humbled? Most certainly.

But we made it. We are here. Very few lives were lost.  Uno is better positioned for a secure long term future than ever. What happens to Uno now is up to all of us.

Btw, I just got Bryce's bill for implementing merged mining in Uno. I'm hoping we can collectively raise his "zero" Uno fee.
I'm grateful for what BW was able to do for us single handedly. He would also like to see more more devs come to Uno (welcome again CaptChadd).

Meanwhile, lets just pause a minute to let the adrenaline settle. We can make the wallet pretty again, don't worry. In the mean time, lets appreciate the added blockchain security that has come with the 100x increase in hash Uno is getting, with more on the way.

And lets welcome the new people and pools who are looking at Uno and asking themselves, "why didn't a coin without a premine, which suffered two major exchange thefts, which once had no devs but now has three, why didn't this coin simply die off after Wolong dumped it?"   It's a good question; I'll try to answer it later, but right now my wine glass is empty, soo...  ttyl
