Welcome, Abbott_Car!

Woo hoo! IndiaMikeZulu is splurging kitty money on coffees this morning: we actually began theorising physical alternative currencies, but we've been strudying cryptos for two years this month:

Ian and Mark remain the core. cragv has proven truly invaluable. We hold Unobtanium for 5 'passengers.' 'CD' -- the member who isn't on the Net (!) ---- has provided all manner of logistical assistance to me. We have an accountant (a libertarian) who gives us advice for free. We have a contact in the Australian Securities and Investments Commission. We are in regular contact with a number of Australian crypto geeks and Bitcoin-accepting businesses. A talented South Korean dev is available to help us.

And we got you guys!!

Bryce Weiner (@BryceWeiner) used bitcoin micropayments service ChangeTip to initiate a $1 tip to a suspected IS account (@vvvv_101) this week in an incident that has since caused controversy.

But its ok for the American government to drop weapons for them and did they also fund the training camp in jordan, lets ask John McCain about that one.

UNO is not money
UNO is capital

(but UNO could become the new money of SHA256 in not so distant future)

Reposted from over at Un-Ex:

"Just a quick shout out.

Is there anyone in this community who has an opinion on the market for:

 Cryptocurrency stickers

  Cryptocurrency t-shirts

  Design Services accepting crypto currencies

  Technical Services accepting crypto currencies

Just getting a feel for something that people always 'say' they are going to do but never seems to materialise. I have a friend who's interested in starting up but I am concerned about a true market for such goods."

Any exchange not listing 'proof of funds' is very likely fraudulent ... sorry cry, bitrex, polo, BTER(ohh), Mintpal(ohh), Gox(ohh).

It is easy, like 24hrs to implement ... you send coins to your deposit address (standard procedure already) ... they sit there until you execute a trade.  Blockchain verifies that.

Why not an OPEN exchange?  Easy to do with (.txt message) chains ... you send in with instructions ... publicly the exchange house now has been given funds and instructions ... order executes or else funds are pinged back to you at specified time ... wallet tech already exists to watch markets and auto send if the price is right.

Again 90% of the exchange houses are ignoring this Elephant.  Cry is very suspect because it takes 13weeks to 'reinstall' buggy clients on their servers, thus locking up your coins as long as they like.

Teach me something, please, guys:

exchanges hold the coin of those who deposit it with them for trading. Do they also hold amounts of coin that they own themselves? If so, is it part of the 'trading-system'? or are they investors and traders in their own rights?

Someone mentioned that mining-pools hold coin. Why? As investors?

m
I'm quite sure that many of the exchanges that have disappeared have tried to arbitrage and got caught in a downward spiral.  Human greed would almost guarantee that the exchanges hold some coins or sell coins that they do not have in a manner similar to a fractional reserve system...

Are you hacking into my thought stream?  (I will need to upgrade my cranium-al firewall)

(forethought)
Bitcoin answers the $-value question; #their struggle not ours to provide 24/7 price instability
Uno-tanium answers the bullion-value question; #yet this time the kg are exactly fixed, no Klondike sudden rushes / inflationary strikes
kore-tanium holds anti-potato-dump-a-rino ammo; #yet it is not bullet proof nor cryptonite

even the btc spot-market gets stabbed

Or Unobtanium? or vice versa? Anyone have any ideas?

I agree that there should be support for larger dumps. That buy-support line will push the price and marketcap to new heights eventually and at some point the price might start to fly again.
1000 USD is not really a big money to dump. If a bullion dealer sells 1 oz of gold and needs it cash immediately, he is not even able to get the money from the markets without taking losses.

Yup! And here on Un-Ex, we are working on solutions.

# Core-tanium holds 'anti-dump ammo' -- come and discuss how it should work, and pledge some Btc! [Thanks to Bitcoin Charlie and Benefactor and Sirsmokes, who already have]

# We are working on a 'liquidity engine' for our merchants, so they can sell Uno (if they need to) for the fiat currency of the nation they trade in.

# Ian and I just wrote to an Australian merchant who accepts Unobtanium, to ask if he wants to be involved in the liquidity-engine project.

# special thanks to cragv, who is developing the 'trade-tracker' and the new DVC exchange.

Today in Rockchain Investigations:
The very last transfer out after yesterday's activity seems to have been to a different wallet. Every transaction before (that I checked) was identified by Chainz as belonging to the same wallet, which is now empty. The last transfer leads here, which seems to be a different wallet.

Conclusion:
Our long term miner/pool most likely moved those coins either to cold storage, or to an exchange. It could explain the sell off, but that's only speculation. If it WAS the cause: we saw a volume of >900 UNO the past 24 hours.
The coins should be mostly spent by now if it was indeed the main source of the dumps.

Payout are still broken at coinking.  When it broke before, I lost a few days of coins.  Im really starting to wonder about this pool.

That's odd. I just got a small payout from Coinking yesterday. I only cashed out a bit of dust that was in my account, but it arrived quickly.

@dump

Maybe also mintpal-effect still. Probably many factors.
I'd say: Enjoy supply while it lasts.  Wink

I was privately complaining that it was so hard to get buy orders filled the past 2 weeks. This did the job nicely. Smiley
