Please post only if you have beaten the previous MH/s record for that card.

Going to reiterate myself a bit.  Wink

Thanks for the 5970 & 6870 results nonetheless.

I can't agree with that.  I'm more comfortable running my cards cooler and with less voltage.  Less Power = more profit

Edit:  It would be nice if you made a separate table for alternate configurations.

I'm not disagreeing with you on the preference to run cards cooler, just re-stating my instructions.

If you think I should do that, I suppose I can, but my worry is that this will just turn into the Hardware Configuration page on the wiki, which is the problem I was trying to fix.

Anyone else have thoughts on this?

(And thanks to everyone who has contributed so far!)

air cooling only? I feel excluded. Sad

Well, I was under the impression that the vast majority of miners used air-cooled cards. If that's not the case, please correct me.  Grin

I suppose I can start a "Insanely Overclocked MH/s Bragging Thread" if you want. I just intended this one to answer a lot of newbie questions before they were asked.

I see a lot of questions on best clocks, options, miner program, and the like to use for any particular card. The hardware comparision page on the wiki used to be a viable resource, but I think it can be rather intimidating and is not uniformly formatted. I think it would answer a lot of questions before they are asked if we had a thread listing the best (aka highest MHash) settings for common mining cards.

I will maintain the first (and second if need be) post of this thread as a hopefully organized and easy to read list. Please post only if you have beaten the previous MH/s record for that card.

EDIT: In order to better provide the information this thread is designed to provide, I am now adding an overclocking limitation. Core clock can be no more than 100 MHz or 20%, whichever is lower above the stock core clock for the reference model (aka AMD stock reference). This is being implemented to more effectively convey effective software settings. Comments or suggestions are always welcome.

Do note that this is not a overclocking bragging thread. This is a thread designed to server the majority of miners, and certain criteria apply:
  • Air Cooling or (Sane) Water Cooling Only
  • No Hardware Modifications
  • Must Run Stable for at least 24 Hours
  • Invalid Shares under 2% for 24 Hours
  • Stock Voltage
If you got a 5870 to 600 MH/s for two minutes by taking it apart, resoldering and rebuilding it, and running it in a pool of liquid nitrogen, that's wonderful, but that's not what this thread is for. I can't cover everything; use your judgement as to what is or is not appropriate. Remember, this thread is to serve the majority of miners. Please keep it as such.

The following information is required (feel free to use the template) when submitting a result:
  • Card Manufacturer (AMD/Nvidia) Ex. AMD
  • Card Model Number Ex. HD 5870
  • Card OEM (XFX/BFG/Sapphire/etc) & Designation Ex. XFX Black Edition
  • MHash per Second (Bitcoin SHA256 mining, not alt-chains) Ex. 430
  • Core Clock (In MHz) Ex. 900
  • Memory Clock (In MHz) Ex. 300
  • Average Operating Temperature (In Degrees Celsius) Ex. 70
  • Ambient Temperature (In Degrees Celsius, this can be an estimate) Ex. 20
  • Fan Speed (Percentage) Ex. 80
  • Host OS (Windows/Linux, list distro/version) Ex. Windows 7
  • Driver Version (Both SDK & Catalyst if applicable) Ex. Catalyst 11.6 & SDK 2.4
  • Mining Program (Phoenix/Diablo/CGMiner/GUI-miner) & Version Ex. Phoenix 1.7.3
  • Command Line Flags (or settings for GUIMiner, in any case excluding username and password) Ex. -k phatk2 DEVICE=0 VECTORS FASTLOOP=false BFI_INT AGGRESSION=11

The following information is optional when submitting a result:
  • Watts Drawn While Mining (Average) Ex. 200
  • Other Information (anything you feel is relevant)
