Really succinctly, can somebody just spell out how Volts affect performance vs. Watts. I know W= electrical power and V=electrical potential, but how do they related to ASIC performance? Does raising one without raising the other do anything for example?

Just remember .. the PHP changes are not persistent after reboot / powering off.
If you reboot, have the files with the changes handy, to push them again in the /var/www space.

If you want a more granularity -- change the following file around line 329

#vi  /var/www/SP2x/settings.php

Oh yah, I got 0.4546179953399794 watts per ghs, so far. hehehe.

Good I will most likely do the switch on Weds.

Now I am running these two on a evga 1600p2

about 1985gh total

all good temps with fan at 15

power is  956 watts  so 956/1985 =  .48 watts at a meter

i am on my other pc (philipma1957)

These really good numbers which improve when I open the garage door and drop the garage temp about 5-10 degrees F.

Also this is my 'high' meter

the other one reads 938

i'm at 0.46591970121382 w/gh on the same settings. not too shabby.

just having a tinker with the SP31 too... got it to 0.49w/gh so far.... 0.45925925925926 w/gh

settling on this for the SP20

That's not the at-wall wattage.

you are right, I was just making a post on the main thread with a disclaimer towards the fact that those numbers are not at the wall (i don't have a meter)
you can divide that number by ~0.92 to show approximately correct

I upgraded my firmware to 2.5.54 using my android phone over the network. The miner probably connects directly to SP's website.

Can anybody on the new 2.5.54 firmware confirm if it includes the extranonce.subscribe patch?

I have 2.5.33 .   It is late in NJ,USA  and my power numbers are so good right now I am a bit afraid to look for the extranonce.subscribe patch and do a new firmware.

I have 2 more coming on tues or weds.  I will do one of them.

this is what I have all of my 6 on
they pull about 505 watts do about 1005 to 1065 gh

 fan was ssh to 15

To follow up this miner is pulling 448 watts and doing 1026gh   which is an astounding .43 per gh number How did I get the drop.  My moron neighbors stopped burning their fireplaces for the holiday and went to sleep. Thus I opened my rear garage door and finally got some cold air on the gear.
watts dropped from 505 to 448!!

I purchased sp20's looking for .6 or .65 watt per gh.  I never thought .5 could be done and now I am at .43 watts in a colder room with fan at 12 and heavy duty underclock

The video just released by SP, shows a unit running

Fan Speed 20
Start Voltage 0.66
Max Voltage 0.665
Max Watts 100

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n6W1cHravKw

I think I'll try those settings.

Okay over night I closed the back garage door for safety's sake.

The 15 speed fan got too warm.
Not unexpected since I am running 6 units in a 22 by 22 by 7.5 foot space.
Burning 4000kwatts is more then 13000 btu.  My garage is very well insulated.

So the 15 speed unit auto downclocked all freqs turned blue.  rate dropped to  640gh  but power dropped at least 300 watts so I actually got about .47 per gh

I should have screen shot it. I rebooted with a higher fan setting.  That unit was running paired with a second unit on my evga 1600p2.

as the pair they were pulling 1281 watts and doing 2400gh  after the down clock they went to 980 watts and 1850gh.

With this 2 sp20 per 1 psu I was not exactly sure how low the power was for the one the downclocked itself to  the 630 gh.

I am going to try to do this on the sp20 that runs on one evga.  It may be something for the future in april when the weather warms up.

how is noise at 15%?

for me with all 6 sitting in an attached garage it works well.
It is about 6 am here in Jersey I just woke up and went down to my den I have the garage door open to the den and the noise is pretty good.

My bedroom is above the garage and it is not that easy to hear the gear.

Of course you need heavy down clock to make it work.  630 watts and 1200gh  in a 85f temp garage

with 6 at 630 watts garage is 85f . and I don't over heat  the gear.  1 is at 15 .   5 are at 20.

we need new firmware with a 10 and a 15 setting with lots of warning that 10 and 15 settings need to be with really low under clocks.

ones with under 650 watts spent.
