hey every vnl tweet you do be sure to put @dashpay on the end lol let them feal our wrath

The results of altcoin wars are never pretty. I've seen some good threads get locked because of the amount of spam from these troll kid gangs.
Don't do it. Just get the ignore button ready and dont' feed it. It's the equivalent of an online locust storm.

Sorry, but who gives a F that the Chinese don't like the name? Are we going to change the name to something they like because we want to make them invest? If their investment choices are solely based on the name of this coin I'd rather not have them as an investor, easy as that. Look at the fundamentals of Vanillacoin, hell it could have been called "I love the cock coin" and I'd still be all over it and promoting it. Sorry for speaking so bluntly, but this whole appeasement policy over something as futile as a name gets on my nerves.

I just want to understand it because it is so odd. Best I can tell "Infinite" has to do with Ying Yang and they do really like the word, and they certainly had a thing for Infinitecoin that didn't have much going for it, but why they heck would they have issues with Vanilla? Just odd. Ideally it would be useful to understand their points of view however. They make up a lot of the volume in crypto trading, they build most of the miners, and they will likely be mining most of VNL in the future.

Different culture different perceptions. Auspicious behaviour is part of their culture and much of it has to do with aesthetics for example the word itself may not be offencive but the characters have a deeper meaning and maybe the symbols for Wayne are lucky or appear to represent good fortune in contrast to vanilla.
Could be a number of factors - none of them being the litteral translation.

In Chinese tradition, certain numbers are believed by some to be auspicious (吉利) or inauspicious (不利) based on the Chinese word that the number name sounds similar to. The numbers 0, 6, 8, and 9 are believed to have auspicious meanings because their names sound similar to words that have positive meanings

Fascinating culture really.

VNL doesn't need such dumb methods. It is backed by intelligent minds and that will make it find its right place in cryptoeconomy.

The anon coin FUD will come at us plenty soon enough, they are already starting with it in advance. Definitely better to take the high road and just have the best specs.

If everything continues on the same course like it has been, people will be scrambling to get this coin listed. No reason to rush things, all is moving along very nicely without any need for hype. Chinese like everyone else understand money and when the price continues upward no one will give a rats ### about the name.

Vanilla enables you to securely transfer value to anywhere in the world in 1/8 of a second without involving any central authority.
Its network will be the second secure network after BTC once the FPGAs are pointed to it and it will be 4800 times faster (10x60x8).
Name any coin currently above VNL in CMC that offers that. Call it Vanilla or anything, you know where we are headed.

Where the fuck did all this name changing talk come from?  And why would it ever be changed to waynecoin or icoin?

Vanillas awesome.

Talk about the name of a coin usually comes in threads where people don't have to worry about their investment going to zero overnight Smiley So it's basically a good thing. But I agree, keep the name and carry on.

I don't think changing the name was ever in question, everyone. Just giving an FYI that multiple Chinese have told me they prefer Wayne Coin  (which happens to be exactly how Google Translate translates Vanillacoin anyway, which is where Wayne Coin comes from). I asked, and "Wayne" (Chinese character) essentially means nothing in Chinese. Call it what you want when you want to talk in Chinese, but my Chinese stuff will remain spelled whatever "Wayne Coin" is in Chinese until a CHINESE person advises me otherwise.

On a sidenote, I would be very against changing the official name from VNL/Vanilla/Vanillacoin at this present time.

Switch the name to iCoin please. Smiley

It's an existing coin, but the dev team left a year ago. There was a failed attempt to revive it and it's basically dead now. If the current iCoin holders were compensated according to their holdings I'm pretty sure no one would object a take over.

Well firstly someone should ask the achinese guy why he dose t like the name. It could be it means something very negative in China like I dunno, incest or donkey cock. Maybe then a name change could be considered later....but they could just use the word for vanilla in Chinese. it seems like why should we bend for the whims of Chinese market but if a Chinese coin came out that was awesome and in the top 10 you don't want them naming it cockface coin or something....

I also know Asians and they tend to say 'oh Chinese people don't like' they tend to voice opinions about the collective. Plus throw language barrier in, maybe only a few people said the name was bad and he made it seem like a billion people didn't like it.
