Coinigy Webinar has went down, you can find the recorded vid on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e0AgSpNjAMM

They have been talking about Vanillacoin from 17:10. Please note that this is still an immature chart since VNL doesn't have yet a long history on Poloniex. Don't take everything for granted, but it was fun to have the coin on this episode.

VNL coin is awesome with a talented Developer but I like this Announcement better Cheesy

Yeah.  John doesn't realize that most people in crypto don't even know what a function is, let alone understand his code.

Everything needs to be written simply so everyone can have some understanding.  IMO, this ANN is currently necessary and traumschiff has done a great job.

BTC-E is looking for a honest no premine, no ICO, no IPO "anon" coin!

https://twitter.com/bubblebobble123/status/601098020948672512

Please note that Vanillacoin is not "anon". It simply has a privacy feature where the wallet uses random ports so it may be not recognised by ISPs as a crypto node/peer/client.

Also I'm not sure if I understand you, is btc-e looking to add any coin, did they state it? Or are you just simply tweeting them to look at Vanilla?

I'm pretty sure that they won't add "new" coins, as VNL is only a few months old with low volume currently as the market didn't really react yet to the features that the coin owns.

Yeah.  Random ports and traffic is encrypted (both features unique to VNL), but no blockchain obfuscation.  Blockchain obfuscation would actually limit VNL's potential.

I'm also curious where STEALTHMODE heard btc-e was looking to add a coin.

I actually prefer this threads OP details & without the topic saying yummy.... anyway great job with the development john-connor is doing to VanillaCoin.

My thoughts on this:

I understand John and his decision to open a new and official topic on Bitcointalk. Since Vanillacoin is meant as a serious project development and is also sponsored by an Angel Investors there are probably certain requirements to meet. Holding the official topic in his hands people can not point fingers at him for others mistakes. While I'm obviously part of the project since the early stages from the community side and I don't intend to leave anytime soon, single points of failure are never good. He is meant to do great things with this project.

Anyway as long as people stay here to chat, I will keep it frequently updated and will offer my help if I can.

If I recall when I first seen VNL launched on bitcointalk in the test stage john directed us away from here and onto his own forums where we communicated for up-to-date information & the beta wallet launch, he called BTCtalk a cesspool remember but has seemed to have had a 2nd opinion now whilst wanting to & did start a new OFFICIAL "again" thread.

I don't think he really wants/likes a BCT topic (he is the only one who can answer this), but since there are some people who "insist" on communicating through BCT (because everything is at one place) he was kind of forced by this topic to do so.

I was the one who threw in the question on the vanillacoin.net forums sometime after launch that I would like to see a BCT topic again if he approves and lots of people were agreeing that it's a must in crypto atleast at the early stages to build a bigger community.

My way of dealing with information, explaning and graphical representation may not be in-line with his expectations as the time passes so he may have felt that a more official hub is needed for the people who are staying here instead of going over to the official forums.

I like BCT even though there are lots of problems with it and enjoy helping people out here if I can introduce them to the most awesome project I found so far.

After doing research on VNL, I am wowed. I love innovation. All I can say is "This is bad ass". in  a good way

Yes, VNL is 100% development, 0% hype.
Totally different from most of other coins, I would say a game changer but that depends about lot of other things than just development.

I've also fully synced and made some tests with the beta Android wallet. So far everything seems to go well, chances are it's perfect already, but John probably prefers to wait for additional testing.

I'll wait for a few deys before I transfer all of my coins so I can finally shutdown my PC at nights and stake with my phone instead since it doesn't really use much energy and won't ruin my battery life.

Can we backup wallet on android phone?

Yes, also uses a wallet.dat: close vanillacoin app > go to /data/data/net.vanillacoin.vanillacoin/data/ > backup wallet.dat

thanks bro!

HZ just launched a decentralized exchange...it's still very small but perhaps VNL would do well there?  Just thought I would post about it and see what people had to say...

We need to list more coins, but due to our dedicatedness to decentralization we don't want to run all the signing nodes with the same crew.

One node will always be run by the HZxchange dev team, but up to two others can and should be outsourced to the coins' dev and/or community. So if you belong to one of those groups, contact us to get your coin listed. All you need is a server able to run the coin wallet+hz.

Will go through this as it seems interesting, thank you.

Not sure if I mentioned it here, but a Bitcoin dev I know is doing a code review for Vanillacoin. Funny thing, he was commenting in my group about some other coin he didn't approve of code-wise, and I explained I can't really do code reviews and I just go on the fundamentals. Anyway, he want's to help out the crypto scene and is working on the code review for Vanillacoin. Super technical and it will be a paper, but what I know so far is it definitely isn't a scam based on sheer amount of work, and he agrees it "shines" compared to most alts. He had some pros and cons, and I tried to explain it was still in progress and being worked on. Anyway, it was good enough news that I bought more. Smiley

When it is done I will publish on my website cryptocollectorsclub.com, and in the group link at the bottom of my sig. I asked him to do SDC next just as I have always been curious how good or bad the code is on that as well.
A code review might be useful if done by a panel of qualified experts with at least 20 years of professional distributed network programming experience, otherwise it is just an individual opinion. Cool

Thank you for your support.

Yes, it would just be an individual opinion and should only be taken as such. I think VNL is interesting enough that I asked him to look at it first though. So take that as a compliment. Wink

Constructive opinions are always welcome, also I'm pretty sure the project will open lots of peoples eyes soon enough.

Sadly crypto in general moved towards quantity instead of quality and this distracts peoples focus from the few viable projects.

Official statement from me regarding this Vanillacoin BCT ANN

I talked with John and came to a conclusion that I will keep this topic frequently refreshed as long as people decide to communicate here.

This thread will be a more detailed community discussion hub, since John will probably spend most of his time developing VNL, which you can see takes a lot of his time since the developments are going at an awesome pace.

The official announcement hubs are https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/--1064326 and https://talk.vanillacoin.net/

Talk.vanillacoin.net contains most of John's announcements which I will also copy here in the future (most announcements are already present) and explain them in more detail if it's possible.
