My node have not received incentive for five days and always have status: "votecandidate": true.
I restarted node, but it didn't help. What can be wrong? My another node receive few rewards every day.

Is there a guarantee I will be chosen to receive an incentive reward?

No, some peers may not be providing reliable service or have bad luck due to variance.

5 days is really a bad streak, sometimes I don't recieve rewards on one of my nodes for a day or two (rare) max.

I saw that only 13 tcp connections in this node, when another node had > 30. Maybe this is the reason, but i don't know how fix this.

That's not the reason.  You could try Riseman's suggestion:

Also had that issue. Seems like you have to resend the collateral to your default address after certain updates.

I'm not an expert but I would of thought Bitcointalk is actually a perfect place to find an early reviewer. There definitely are some legit coders here who aren't just scammers.

This guy after a minute of looking.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/viacoin-code-review-710099

coinsolidation ran off on Bitmark, the coin he was developing, after stealing a lot of money.  I believe Bitmark is still being developed from a takeover by community members but not 100% certain.  He is not close to capable of the coding John is.

Even before Zerotime, a thorough review of Vanillacoin could not have been done by anyone here, and zerotime added many lines of code.

It sounds like I'm talking him up too much, but there really just isn't anyone competent here except for John.

Well I guess that's a good problem. Smiley

But surely you don't need to be a genius to understand the work of one. Just to throw another random name out this guy helped out Qora....I do believe this forum has some talented people though conflicts of interest makes it tricky for sure.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/ciyam-44572

Don't know that guy, don't know how many people here do know him, don't know if he could do it, and don't know how much he would charge.  Also, in his profile, someone theymos put into the default trust category is accusing him of a bunch of things.

Don't let me discourage you from asking people though.  If someone just wants to look into the code and gets excited, maybe they'll buy some and start touting it.

Someone who has influence and who maybe could properly review the code would be this guy: https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/vitalik-buterin-7314
Problems:
1. It would take him at least a month to do a thorough review and his salary is over $10,000 a month
2. Conflict of interest
3. He has to spend all his time on Ethereum so he probably wouldn't be able do it no matter how much we paid him

So, there are more than a few obstacles to getting a worthwhile review, but feel free to message every developer to look into Vanillacoin's code.  We're bound to get a few converts.

I dont see why a review has to cost that much and even if it is flawed it a start to get the ball rolling.

Because complex projects/code needs complex reviews from competent people. I support the idea of a review, but people should find someone who fits the needs and not just find someone for the sake of hype. If the community is able to find someone who we can trust and is well recognised I'm all up for the idea.

I think a price rise with the future release of DarkPP and some changes that will make Vanillacoin scale even better will make it possible for us to gather a bigger sum on a crowdfunding. Also I feel that node incentives will have a healthy effect on the long-term price (which we might not sense just yet).

I know many are looking toward Dark++ as a kick start to VNL but they might be disappointed...it may at best just produce a short pump and another flood of destructive FUD. I don't see how you can build and market a feature like anominity when of everyone thinks the coin is a scam already and expect a positive result..

One thing I learnt from QORA is great tech doesn't win.....convincing others something is great tech wins.

Here's this guy earlz https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/earlz-317881

As far as I know he does coin code reviews here on donation basis.

Tried him early on (March 3), Vanillacoin is too different from Bitcoin for him to review.  He wasn't even sure where to start and wouldn't give me a quote.  He just glances at a few things in clones and says if the tiny amount of changes they made will cause any problems.

And again,

Poloniex did a code review.  That's why Vanillacoin is the only coin other than Bitcoin to require only 1 confirmation on Poloniex.  You can test this by going here: https://poloniex.com/public?command=returnCurrencies and searching for minconf":1,"

You'll get two results, which will be Vanillacoin and Bitcoin.

Also, I've typed something similar to this 10+ times already.  Inform others please.  Thank you

Ok fair enough on this particular guy but if Polinex did a 'code review' for nothing then you would think someone would be willing who is trustworthy and wont ask for a million bucks surely???

I messaged him and asked if he would do one. It's a start I guess. It's the communities responsibility to do this, we don't need to bother JC, he has done the work it's not his role to justify his open source material it's others.

Maybe a small Bitcoin fund can be gathered by someone trustworthy in the VNL community. Of course a review could make the price drop but if he finds it legit then it's actually in everyone's best interest to chip a little in. And look if you don't want to support one then let others do so. I'm sure some would prefer to gather more cheap but there are the kind of people who are happy to FUD the coin for their self interests. But I see no reason for those who want this to make it happen.

He isn't competent in this field see pseudonymdude's comment above. He is only knowledged with bitcoin clones. Bitcointalk isn't the place to find a competent review because any good developer would have an agenda and be biased towards their own interest or projects. Problem is (I already explained this on IRC) that any good and recognised cryptographer or P2P system developer would ask for a way higher sum compared to what the community could throw together at these price levels. Imagine the average hourly/weekly pay of a really good specialist in this field and the amount of time needed to review the amount of code (and complexity of it) put down by John.

Ok but where is a solution to the problem that VNL could be the most amazing coin ever made but no one believes in the tech and it dies on the vine? I mean eventually someone else will steal just enough of JC's ideas to make their coin and and not look like it was a direct steal. I see that happening in the next year.

Who would you pay for a code review? Someone one BTCtalk with their own agenda? We would need an actual, real, reviewer not associated with crypto, and and that would cost tens of thousands of dollars.

Code reviews pointed out the fact that it wasn't built from the ground up as John claimed.
Not a single code review (that indicates this) has ever surfaced. Trying to manipulate the market with non-facts (again), nice... Cool

Thanks you for your support.

So why hasn't there been one? There is one thing being cool and not caring what people think bit there is another thing completely throwing the success of a coin under a bus. Prove critic wrong, community should be the better man....or woman...and pay for one.
