No one is above the law, it is true that Trump is a former president and has diplomatic immunity, but in fact he is a thief who stole important secret documents related to American national security. There may be political goals behind this incident, but these are matters that can never be tolerated. Trump has done very badly for his country during his presidential term and now he is paying the price for his misdeeds.

Did I miss anything?

- The pope was arrested.
- Republicans will never lose another election because all the democrats will die from the vaccine.
- Germs aren't real.

It's good that Trump had all those documents. How else is a President supposed to run the country from outside the Oval Office?

Cool

The fact that he was in possession of these documents demonstrates that he is not fit to hold ANY political office.

Never mind his linguistic gaffes every time he opens his mouth.

And if it's confirmed these documents are what the Washington Post is claiming (and they seem pretty confident) , then all the idiots screaming about how "ThEy wErE dEcLasIfIeD!"  some how look like even bigger idiots.

The fact that Trump is simply exercising the Office of the Presidency - Biden's attempted steal making a fake President Biden in office - shows that Trump should have had a whole lot more government docs in his home office.

Cool

So let's recap your worldview:

- Universe was created by God in six days
- Plants existed on Earth before the Sun was formed
- Earth is 10,000 years old
- the Bible is the word of God
- snakes can talk
- slavery is good
- women need to be controlled/owned by men
- human zygotes have the same rights and protections as human beings
- killing for adultery is justified
- kiiling of gays is justified
- Russia did not invade Ukraine
- Ukrainians are Nazis
- Trump is the current president of the USA

i think this is the first time in decades that an ex-president's house has been raided by the fbi, it's also natural because trump brought a lot of classified documents into his private home, which is supposed to be in the national archives building... but the biden administration should have used it a more "friendly" move because after all trump is a former president and he should be respected regardless of the controversy

The National Archives asked him to return all documents.  He gave them 15 boxes.  They figured out he still had some.

DOJ subpoenaed him for all documents.

Trump invited them to come pick up the rest in Florida.  They gave them an envelope and a lawyer swore that was it, no more documents (but they wouldn't let them look in any of the boxes in his basement.

FBI gets search warrant, finds tons of documents in basement, and also in his desk.

Trump throws tantrum and feeds a bunch of bullshit about him fully cooperating and being a victim of the DOJ to his brain dead supporters.  They eat it up.

The DOJ subpoenaed Trump to give the rest back.
It is certainly unusual for a search warrant to be used in a document dispute between a President and the national archives. Or in any document dispute. Perhaps it would have been more appropriate to have a court enforce the subpoena.

Bill Barr, Trumps Attorney General also thinks it's unusual, here's what he had to say:

“People say this was unprecedented, well, it’s also unprecedented for a president to take all this classified information and put them in a country club, okay?”

After returning more boxes his lawyer swore to the FBI that was all of them.  Then, some witnesses came forward and told the FBI that Trump had more boxes of classified documents in his basement and office.  Some of these documents contained information that would put the lives of US assets at risk.

Do you have a source for there being a credible witness coming forward and testifying as you describe? I know that you don't have a source regarding the contents of the allegedly classified information because the documents have not been made public. The affidavit was sufficiently redacted so that it is not possible to know what information the court actually relied upon when granting the search warrant.

I'm sharing with you what I think happened after reading the evidence.  Calm down Johnnie Cochran.

I think Trump

It's turning out that the guy who was responsible for the FBI's direct actions in the raid, has been acting illegally in his FBI position for years. FBI whistleblowers are bringing this into the open.

The Start of the Unraveling of the Trump Mar A Lago Raid

It started with the Judge releasing the sealed search warrant and the affidavit that provided the predicate for the search. Now, it is true most of the substance was blacked out, but the documents revealed that this operation was done at the behest of the Washington Field Office.

Well guess what? The head of the FBI's Washington Field Office, Tim Thibault, was removed forcibly from his office by other FBI agents last Friday. That news just broke today. It comes in tandem with other news that some of the documents taken from President Trump's residence were covered by Attorney/Client privilege. The FBI violated Mr. Trump's Constitutional Rights. Or, to be specific, FBI Special Agent in Charge of the Washington Field Office, Tim Thibault, violated Mr. Trump's rights.

Details about Mr. Thibault’s criminal activities over the last five years are likely to emerge in the coming weeks. For example, Mr. Thibault obstructed justice in the Hillary Clinton case. And he reportedly played a critical role in Cross Fire Hurricane, operating behind the scenes. Thibault was the one who ensured the Hunter Biden laptop never saw the light of day. He helped cover that up. And he has allegedly been involved in other chicanery intended to discredit and destroy Donald Trump.

This is more than rumor.

In late May, the DOJ served Trump with a subpoena to turn over:

On June 3, Trump complied, and had one of his liars certify:

And then the FBI went in and found theses (along with a bunch more):

Trump better announce his candidacy soon if he wants to be indicted while running for president...

I think Trump stole a bunch of documents that belonged to the federal government on his way out of office.

Eventually he gave back 15 boxes to the National archives.

The National Archives found classified documents in those 15 boxes, and noticed there were some missing, so they told the DOJ.

The DOJ subpoenaed Trump to give the rest back.

After returning more boxes his lawyer swore to the FBI that was all of them.  Then, some witnesses came forward and told the FBI that Trump had more boxes of classified documents in his basement and office.  Some of these documents contained information that would put the lives of US assets at risk.

At this point, I don't see any other option AG Garland had but to go and secure the documents via a search warrant.  The search warrant was executed and, surprise surprise, they found exactly what they said they would.

Trump could have returned all the documents when he was asked the first time, or subpoenaed and avoided all of this.  He could have just not stolen any documents.  But he didn't. 100% of the blame lies with Trump and he should be held accountable for his actions.  Trump was not King, and he is not King now.  Stop treating him like he is.  Or even better, ask yourself if you would be making the same argument for Biden if Trump wins in 2024 and Biden steals a bunch of government documents and then refuses to give them back.  Would you be outraged if the FBI raided his Delaware basement to retrieve documents that Biden stole?

No.  You wouldn't.  And I wouldn't either.  That's because I'm able to look at this kind of situation objectively without influence from political opinions or emotions.

On August 8, 2022, the FBI, pursuant to a search warrant, raided the home of the legitimately elected former President, Donald Trump. This was an unprededented event and was clearly motivated by politics.

It appears that the DOJ intended to "prosecute" Trump via leaks to the friendly press by leaking either inaccurate information or information that is taken out of context. An example of this to date includes leaks to the Washington Post suggesting that some of the "classified" documents in Trump's home were related to "nuclear" secrets.

From the looks of it, the dispute in question appears to be a document dispute between Trump and the National Archives. There is no evidence presented to date that suggests a search warrant was necessary.

The unredacted version of the affidavit that was used to support the search warrant on Trump's home contained no information that suggested evidence of a crime would be found at Trump's home. Prior to the DOJ being ordered to release a redacted version of said affidavit, both Trump and Republican lawmakers have been calling for the DOJ to become transparent regarding the investigation and the case. After the affidavit was released, with its heavy redactions, many continue to slam the DOJ for their lack of transparency.

All of this comes after the DOJ described angry parents who were critical of the Biden Administration's allies (the teacher's unions) as "terrorists".

What do you think? Has Biden weaponized the DOJ against his political opponents? Has the DOJ and FBI lost all credibility?
