@eliovp: ok I'll try you're right.

You would not have a mod bios for the rx480 nitro + no oc?

Impossible to exceed 28.8 mh.

I just copy timmings 1625 in 2000

But I can not increase memory much. (2030) max

Huh?
@eliovp: hello

With your 4 new bios the hasrate ethereum is optimized?

thx

Best thing you could do is try it.

I can only guarantee a significant raise in hashrate for XMR.

ETH speed will most likely be up a bit as well.

I have a new XFX RX480 Reference 8GB. Part number : RX-480M8BFA6 with Samsung memory

I can not upload any rom that has 512k.

The RX480Mod gives me about 25.5-26Mh

The 480LowEnergyOK gives me about 15-16Mh

Any advice ?

VDDC Offset + Basic Custom timing
------------------

Here's a nice update for those who have Reference cards.
In the package included, i've put 4 roms with VDDC offset.
1. -50mV
2. -69mV
3. -81mV
4. -100mV

You can of course adjust these however you want, if you want to have an even tighter undervolt you can search the rom for this --> "8D 00 F8 00" and replace the F8 part with EE(-112) for example.

These roms also have a custom timing included. It's a basic one but it will give you a very high increase for XMR.

Greetings and have fun!

"Also posted this in the op".

How about non-ref cards? I have Sapphire RX480 Nitro's and would like to automate the task of -120 through bios. Currently undervolting my cards via Trixx and cards with lower Asics quality even work fine with -160. Claymore commands didn't detect more than -100 so if possible I'd like to add specific downvolt values for each card's bios manually and flash them afterwards.

Asic quality does not have anything to do with how much you can undervolt i think when mining eth since you alwasy use a lower core clock anyways

Fail to plan, and you plan to fail.
Thanks.

Also which should be more productive rx470 with 8000mhz ram or 480 with 7000mhz ram?

Rx 470 with 8000mhz all the way man. Most of the algos benefit from the extra Memory speed, and Ethereium loves it.

Hello I am thinking of building a rig with Asus Dual-RX480 White.

It is a 4gb model with 7000 MHz effective vram.

Does anyone know if it is a reliable card?

Is it good for mining eth & does it benefit from custom bios?

It seems alright, mine has hynix ram. Yes it benefits from a custom bios just copy the 1500 timings to the higher ones

if its not a reference model it will not work.  You have to buy the others as he is a custom fw god.  Tongue

I see the Op post a bunch of .rom file in zip. Which one I should use? What tools I should use to install the rom? Should I change the driver too?

The LowEnergy Rom is impressive.
The others are impressive as well.

TO keep things safe for now, I will be running the LowLow Energy rom while I am busy studying Tongue.

I also made a bios for the VisionTek 480 8GB Reference card rom.  It has Samsung ddr5 memory, but has a different flash ROM.   M25P20/c  which is 256kb versus the others that are at least 512kb.

This took me over a day as it does not behave like the other RX 480 cards I have.  Performance is about 8-12% gain over stock.  I'm sure there is plenty more room to go.

Where can I download this rom for the VisionTek?

Guys how about roms for 470 4gb cards?

I   am looking for sapphire nitro and msi more specifically.

Should I just do it with Polaris bios editor?

Is there a guide for that?

Also will those timming make the cards unstable for mining other coins like ZEC?

Mining other coins with the modded bios should be fine (at least was for me). Yeah there are guides and its worth it and easy enough imo. Basically use GPUz to extract the gpu bios and open it with polaris bios editor... if you have hynix or elpida mem copy the 1500 straps to the higher ones (1500 to 1625, 1750, 1900, 2000). if you have samsung mem, you can copy the 1750 (or maybe even 1625?) to the higher ones.

use atiflash to flash the cards in CMD admin mode

I got some RX480 8G Sapphire Nitros with micron memory SN: A1704.... Bad luck :\

Is there anything I can do to get more hash from these?

Now mining low power mode...

I'm now mining Ether 25Mh/s each and Afterburner showing 65w.

Settings 1050/1750 and -97 Voltage.

there is a 30MHlowenergy rom link in the last page.

All of my Sapphire 480 Refs rigs are with "28MHlowenergyOK" rom, but I have one or two rigs with 30MH one... not bad on ETH mining however ETH mining consumes too much power and too much heat -- it's like a death sentence for the card, stretching it beyond 30mh is not good because for ETH you need stable cards -- having the low power roms and slightly faster than 25/26MH like 28MH or 29Mh is good enough.

Tested, didn't work. I think that rom is for refs.

Got it to mine Ether 28Mh/s with copying 1625 straps to 1750 and 2000. Afterburner is showing now 89w.
With 1050/2000, -97 Voltage.

Are there any publicly available custom memory strap timings for the rx 400 series? (samsung, elpida, or hynix)

EDIT: found hynix and elpida from Eliovp, thanks!
