In my opinion person under 18 years old needs a lot of guidance from an older who has a lot of experience. Its because those person whose age is below 18 is considered as not legally appropriate to to government policies and some terms, anyhow the government wont accept legalization to underage personnel and they are required to have some corresponding guardian. On the other hand, learning as early as possible is totally impressive, to think that at a young age they are motivately gifted and talented.

I do not think there is currently any age-limiting regulation in bitcoin and altcoin so far the management of bitcoin system doesnt set age restrictions on its activity, since bitcoins are made indefinitely and can not be controlled by any party.

Learning the troll avoidance button :)
There are no age limits in crypto, that can be legally enforced.
I mean there might be restrictions and proof of ID for over 18 products but anyone can spend cash even a kid in the candy store.
So my answer is no legal reason to restrict the flow of finance.
(For Trading well no clauses kids may not be legally responsible but they would still need to provide proof of age before using the service with a banking account, on the crypto only side well it doesn't matter since they still would need to convert)

They can also use bitcoin but I think not less than 13yrs old. Maybe 14 year old is also good to use bitcoin so that they can be a responsible person and they will learn how to earn and save money even if it is not bitcoin. But they can actually learn using bitcoin and they can start to earn in bitcoin as well.

As far as I know, the altcoin exchanges doesn't require a minimum age. At least, I didn't faced with nothing like this.

Fortunately Bitcoin users often like and offer anonymity on their websites, and if they don't, in most cases you won't have to verify your information and can lie about it (as long as you use a VPN and you're confident that you're not unsafe using their site).

I am sure that if you can be able to be online and make some money in cryptocurrency, you can easily find a good way to encash your Bitcoin or any cryptos. As shown by many ideas from many members here, the age will not matter that much making the internet an equalizer as you can do what you want even if you're 15 or 150. This is one thing I really like being online...it is giving us many choices and options to make a living on a global scale.

Hello,
I'm wondering how can you trade with bit/altcoins when you're under 18 years old. I currently need to transfer some ethereum coins (earned by mining) to bitcoin and eventually to real cash. I know that you can use LocalBitcoins.com, however you can only trade bitcoin here. How about altcoins?

Thanks.

You won't get any problem trading Bitcoin or alt coins to real money they will not ask for your age. That's the good thing about Cryptocurrency  because as long as you know how to use the internet and you know cryptocurrency then you will not have any problem trading it to other crypto or to flat money.

Yes, I don't see any age limit for using bitcoin and altcoin because nobody doesn't know with whom we are chatting in the exchanges. There are many people who are using bitcoin and altcoin under 18 years old, even though exchanges ask for age 18, but people do not bother about rules and agreement.

I think the digital currency trading as altcoin and bicoin not have rules about age restrictions, but for the security of your wallet better use the original ID to be verified, to anticipate if there are improvements that require ID verification system
yes there is no age limit in using or trading bitcoin or any other currency but still i will like to say that the children who are under 18 they should first complete their study and when they become free then they should try to invest their money in trading bitcoin and alt coin.
Yes true, bitcoin and altcoin are the same as real money, anyone is free to earn, save and use. The most important is do not use it for illegal transactions such as the purchase of drugs, weapons, and more.
Yes but actually gaining Bitcoin is a different matter.

Unfortunately you can't really use exchanges as nearly all them try to verify your age in some way and if you were found out it would be a problem.

I think that most altcoin exchanges don't actually verify your age, whether or not they suggest that you should be over 18.  In that case, you could buy Bitcoin with a debit card (which services occasionally allow without ID for small amounts), or an altcoin if that's more convenient and you can keep away from scams, and you could trade it pretty well.

In the spirit of Bitcoin's privacy, most services won't verify your age and you should be OK.

Most sites that accepts the minimum of 18 years as a pre-requisite to trade, does so in my opinion simply because of the fact that that is the age of being an adult in most countries and because they also want to protect themselves from offering services to minors. But in my own way, I believe the moment you can own up to actions then you are good to go and for someone who is able to be exposed and earn some bitcoins, to me irrespective of age, that is taking responsibility.

Well, I think there is no age limit to recognize bitcoin and use. even you can play trading when you already know that. but, I think it is too risky for a person who is under 18 years of trading. but, it's up to you.

Yes, till now there is no specific restriction on bitcoin usage because we don't how many people are using below age under 18.As Bitcoin is not traceable and is not controlled by the government. If it controlled by the government than there is some age restriction for bitcoin usage and even same with altcoin also.

Depends on how he could get the capital to start on trading. If he's still counting on his parents which are already burdened to fulfil his daily needs then it's definitely wrong ( honestly fine if he could manage to always earn profit LOL ).
But I'm a bit confused on how the government make a decision to whether charge him a tax or not due to his age and the money he could earn.

I don't remember being asked about my age when I register on exchange sites, I have register to almost all exchange but I have never been asked for IDs as well.
They know we all wanted privacy that is why we are using cryptocurrencies, the only problem you can encounter is cashing out btc from websites that asks for IDs.

Try the reputable people here in the forum, some of them buy BTC through paypal. I said reputable so be careful trading with someone,  its like sharing an information and at the same time paypal can be disputed.

there is no problem to register at bitcoin exchanges even if you are 10 yr old-there is no age everification
there is no problem to withdraw bitcoins or altcoins either
BUT if you want to withdraw fiat-it is a whole different story- you would be asked for documents proving your identity
either a driving license or a passport+utility bill for address proof,in the US you will have to pay taxes too

Paypal is the worst payment system to sell bitcoins for as it is easily reversible
there is a special caste of e-bay scammers that are "buying" bitcoins for Paypal, they even go first on the transfer, only to reverse the payment imemdiately
when they get bitcoins in their wallets

LocalBitcoins.com require you to have a bank account in order to trade easier. If you want to sell your Bitcoin without this trouble, you can go outside and find some exchange in your country. Otherwise, you can meet them directly and start a p2p trade. Being friendly on social media will help you to gather information about trusted Bitcoin buyers

Trading with altcoins doesn't really require a minimum Age as long as you dont need to give away your Birthday to Exchange sites.
Exchanging BTC to fiat might be harder to accomplish. But this also depends from your payment method.
But you can always buy Gift cards for BTC on this forum for example.

Can't this just be done in an website exchanger like shapeshift or jaxx?
They change it for you automatically. Then to cash out get a debit card that allows you to loan then just go to any atm and pay their fee to withdraw. That simple! Grin
None of this age verification crap for what you want is your right to have in the first place. Tongue

In the hypothetical scenario  Wink that I was under 18, I would be using Poloniex for trades between Bitcoin and altcoins.  You're meant to be 18 but they don't ask for ID unless you need to withdraw more than $2000 a day, which a hypothetical under 18 person would not need to do.

As for the person's wallet they could use Blockchain and manage to buy some Bitcoin with the third party Coinify in the wallet with their debit card details, but fees are pretty high and idk if they would do it that way later.  Also most ways of getting Bitcoin for free are pretty much anonymous, maybe taking your email or something.
