I withdrew coins from Tales from the Scrypt this morning and still have nothing in my wallet

no need to panic yet. Coins are most likely safe.
Blockchain split after block 1611, so once you have the correct blockchain it will appear. Do not send or receive any coin. Wait for new windows client. Beta testing it now.

When will the new windows client come out?  Thank you.

backup wallet.dat & virtualcoin.conf files.
remove all files
expect virtualcoin.conf file in "virtualcoin" folder.

delete old exe file. Run new qt-virtualcoin.exe

wait for it to sync.

Crypto Hamsters

are behind.

vc.520cn.com (chinese) is currently hashing around 300MH which is around 50% of the current hash rate.

Everyone please wait for Updated Windows client with new checkpoints.

vc.talesfromthescrypt.org was hashing between 400 and 500 before the problem was discovered.  It has dropped off quite a bit since everyone discovered they couldn't withdraw their coins.  I don't know what a good solution is at this point I wasn't aware that some of the pools where on the lower chain.

ok, looks like found the issue.

up to block 1611 their is no issue.
However, once it is on block 1612
their are no different hashblocks

getblockhash 1611

now, how do we fix this when we have 2 sets on block chain after 1611? any suggestion

Ditch the minority fork?

All the pools are on the higher block chain blocks so I guess I would just cut the chain that's behind.  I have no idea how you go about doing it though.  That's my 2 cents.

A start might be to have the dev encourage folks to not use the wayward client.

Also, please ignore the warning in the OP about http://vc.talesfromthescrypt.org .  Turns out there was nothing wrong with the pool.  Smiley

ok, I guess that is the only option left. I will check all pools & find the one least used.

Hey guys,

Just noticed something that I think you should all know...

Every time I load up my Virtualcoin wallet my GPU shoots to 100% and the temp rapidly rises, this is consistent with mining for coins.

It looks like the creator of this coin has hid mining code within the coins wallet so that all of our rigs and computers mine for him...

Can anyone else test this and confirm my findings?

Thanks,

Laughyboy

That should be easy fix, make sure you set following to lower number.
genproclimit=2

If you have old CPU, try setting to 1 or change it to -1 (use all processes) or even remove this line.

Source code is posted on main page, please feel free to review it.

This is what I'm getting from Minep.it.  You can't withdraw coins from there either.  So at this point you can't withdraw funds from any pool on your network.

The block id is null.  I'm not sure what causes that.

ok, is your wallet sync?

if so, go to debug window & type

getpeerinfo

paste output here.

ok, lets try this.

anyone having issues like these
Backup your wallet

delete existing .exe file.
Download new file
Code:
https://mega.co.nz/#!SQYx3JjC!L2imw2BPG0zfQ7xprv4i8PiMzgfINrweojZmLY1xFxg

Go to your roaming folder delete peers.dat file
open virtualcoin.conf
remove all
addnode=

entries.

save it.
Now start the new exe file downloaded.
wait for it to sync & check balance.

Still issues, post your address, I will send you test coin.

That didn't help.  I even deleted the roaming folder completely as a final step to be sure but still about 10 blocks different than pool.

Looks like something happened around block 1612

I have 2 client one sync to 2008 & another 1999

Investigating the cause.

Dev, if it seems like everybody around you has a problem, you may want to look within.
