Hero of Good: theymos, o_e_l_e_o, Phinnaeus Gage
[1] theymos I'm not sure it needs explaining but I believe he embodies a true cypherpunk spirit in my mind, and I believe he understands the true purpose of Bitcoin.
[2] o_e_l_e_o also embodied a cypherpunk spirit and he has left a giant mark on the forum and touched many people, he should be up here.
[3] Phinnaeus Gage was one of my heros from the past and was dedicated to bitcoin and this community for many years, I really miss reading his posts and interacting with him.
Forum Ninja: suchmoon, LoyceV, The Sceptical Chymist
[1] suchmoon embodies what I would see as trust & wisdom on the forum, he's shown his wisdom publicly and privately and I completely trust him.
[2] LoyceV is all over the place, providing concise replies that get straight to good points, offering advice, and continually keeping his stat threads updated to help others, I couldn't imagine what the forum would be like without him.
[3] It's hard to imagine not seeing the responses from The Sceptical Chymist on the forum, many times I read a topic and think of responding, only to find that he's generally already said what I was thinking. I still see his previous alias (which I won't mention) when reading his posts, and more times than not, I end up agreeing with him.
Bitcoin Geek: nc50lc, DannyHamilton
[1][2] These two exude what a
BTC geek is, they know their stuff, and they help people out, just check out their posts.
Best Event: The 4th Bitcoin Halving, BTC reaches 100K USD, Pumpkin Carving Contest
[1] The 4th halving marks a notable event which, one way or the other, has impacted crypto enthusiasts around the world.
[2] Bitcoin broke 100K USD in 2024, which overall marked a pretty significant event in the crypto community.
[3] I don't get to participate in many events but the pumpkin carving contest was one of my favorites, seeing some of the cool stuff created, and Halloween being my 2nd favorite holiday, this pops in my head.
Best Project: Bitcoin Forum “METAVERSE”, 2024 Halvening Playing Cards, Bitcoin history book
[1] Created by 1Dq,
the metaverse collective group effort was an interesting and cool way to depict the forum and included several areas of the forum in it. Overall, the effort put in was impressive and a large undertaking by 1Dq and he should be commended.
[2] The
Halvening cards featuring bitcointalk users had a big impact on me personally. It is the first product I've created of its kind and enabled me to interact with a cool group of people in the collectibles area that I had not been very familiar with previously. While I don't expect to win any awards here, it was a lengthy process to get there and I'm happy the way they turned out, and excited to continue them (and more) in the future.
[3] Created by user Tyke, the
Bitcoin history book is a cool project that was published last year. I haven't read through it all yet, but it looks to have been done well and obviously includes many references to the forum. Another large undertaking that I think should be commended.
Discovery of the Year: PowerGlove, JayJuanGee
[1] PowerGlove has continued his legacy throughout 2024 both publicly and privately and has become a good friend, I'm looking forward to another great year.
[2] In the past I've had to skip over most of what JJG posts, but as I've found out throughout the past year, once you get through some of the elaboration and abrasiveness, he can
sometimes make worthwhile points. Plus, being one of the only active neutral/objective merit sources I think we have, he deserves an award.
Help Buster: nutildah, Cyrus
[1] Amongst other positive contributions in the scam and spam busting arena, nutildah is doing his best to fight AI at a time when imo the forum really needs it.
[2] Outside of the other stuff he engages in on the forum, Cyrus has always appeared to me as one of the more objective and fair mods, who continually works to handle user reports and clean up the forum, just as important, he seems willing to answer questions when discrepencies arise.
Craft Master: krogothmanhattan, PowerGlove, joker_josue
[1] Between orange pills, new coins, cool art, raw transactions, and free raffles, krogoth comes up with some interesting ideas in the collectibles space and is trying to help bitcoin overall.
[2] Although "developer" was not part of this description, PowerGlove has helped with many significant changes on the forum, both publicly and behind the scenes, he's a great developer and has a good head on his shoulders... definitely a master of his craft.
[3] joker_josue developed and designed TalkImg, a bitcointalk image hosting service, which he has managed to keep going through attacks and various obstacles, and he still continues to improve it, not an easy task imo and he should be commended.
Miss Bitcointalk: Foxpup
[1] With practically no girls on this forum, this seems obvious, without foxpup we wouldn't have any
vag art... plus I just like fox pups.
