Even the thieving (((bankers))) are using leverage to buy up your debt! We are so screwed Cheesy

Lol. I hear ya and they keep getting bailed by our taxes. But they cannot buy what doesn't exist, living debt free is being able to sleep easy. Smiley

Most of investing is done with borrowed money lol. There is such a thing as good debt. But if you're happy with your financial situation, then good for you. Keep doing you.
Yes I am aware of this. And ditto to you. To the people who make leverage work for them, you guys keep doing you. It just isn't my style. I do take a very very risk on approach to investing (as Hueristic can attest to, I think he has been in Monero since as early as I have) but not in that particular way. I think there are better ways to get the effect that people are looking for out of leverage.

Yeah, so the thieving bankers want everyone to think.

I personally would never retire early with just two million.

Neither would I.

Cheers!

Buying a house in cash is a waste of equity. Think bigger!

What about paying off an existing mortgage with free BCash, investing over $2M in a managed portfolio for the next 20 years, and retiring early ?  Kiss

Now see, that sounds like a solid plan, Bob.

Gotta congratulate you jbreher, if you were lucky enough to pull out a bit of excess dollar generation in price areas that were in the ballpark of 20x beyond the short term BTC price expectations that many of us were having in mid-2016..

Thanks, JJG. My lambo popped up on my radar screen just as Bitcoin was skying. I hadn't been actively looking. But the stars seemed to align. It seemed prudent to diversify a bit.

Lambos are better associated with the BCash and ICO/shitcoin crowd. I mean, Roger and CSW drive them, so....?

My lambo is my brand new fully paid off house. Less flashy but also less childish.

Why would you pay for a home with cash when at least 80% of it could have been reinvested?

I closed in late January of this year. Figure it out.

I don't care if you cashed out at 20,000 per btc and made half a million dollars. That doesn't change what I said. Buying a house in cash is a waste of equity. Think bigger!

Think big? I'd rather live large. What the hell is the money for anyhow?

(It's not like I needed to liquidate, or anything even approaching that...)

Meanwhile, in BCash Land, many lulz are being had.

Quick - Someone send a shipment of bananas to the bcash development team so they can fix this shit!

Presumably, you realize that node operators running deprecated software is nothing for which the devs are responsible for, right?

Just arrived back home to Canada from Vietnam. It was getting way too hot for comfort and productivity. Nice to be back in a temperature cooler than me.
I was pleasantly surprised to find this among Hong Kong airlines entertainment choices.
Watched it twice  Cool

sMerited.  I'm guessing that's a recommendation for the vid?
Actually, ya, sure. I feel like I'd previously digested much of the content but I particularly liked how they documented the history of money and how things became corrupt. I think it was made in 2015 but still feels super relevant.  Well worth an hour of your time.  There's a torrent on TPB.

Was that a Bat signal I spotted on the hourly?

I think we are at the cusp. What happens over the next several hours will determine the course of the rest of the summer. Its rare to have such a obvious defining moment.

At the very least I believe we will retest the the tenkan(blue line) on the 4hr and quite possibly  kijun(red line).

This in turn might cause the trailing chikou(green) to cross above the tenkan creating a cascade upwards into the kumo(red cloud). All sorts of interesting things could start happening then.

As I said to the last person, if that financial situation is good enough for you, so be it. It just seems like the general consensus from Bitcoin "investors" here is that retiring is more interesting than the game of investing itself. I guess I just have a different outlook on things. I personally would never retire early with just two million.

You seem to be attempting to impose too much of your personal judgement on other folks, because there certainly is no one right way, and frequently, especially for more sophisticated investors, they have several assets that are likely not to be exactly correlated to one another, including sometimes decent ideas that involve putting cash directly into some asset rather than some of the complications that might involve borrowing and/or "working" your money.

Furthermore, it is quite likely that the passive income that Bob is locked into making on his $2million managed portfolio is quite a bit less than 1/3 of his total wealth...   If we take him at his word (and various representations), $2million seems to be less than 1/3 of just his crypto wealth without considering other assets that he seems to have and income that he may well be earning from other sources....

give up/surrounder for this evening can't get it right but allready thanks for the help gonna look tomorrow and retry ....

Yeah, the .gif is 6.6mb on disk.

The forums do not support images that large, as another user already noted.

Okay, I'll come clean.  I pulled the 2MB limit out of my butt! Honestly,  I did some limited testing a while back and it seemed that 2MB was the sweet spot but as it turns out, Theymos had originally set the limit to 1.5MB and then in December of 2013, increased the limit to 2.5MB at the request of bitpop.

REF: https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/image-proxy-388403

So the limit is 2.5MB - fill your boots!

That is functionally equivalent to investing borrowed money. I'm not willing to invest borrowed money. Bitcoin is neat. I understand the protocol better than 99.999% of people, and I think I understand enough about economics and fiance to see the value proposition in that protocol, but I still don't trust myself nearly enough to invest with borrowed money. There could always be some part of the picture that I'm just missing. It's not worth losing everything I have because I made an error.
