VERY surprised to see price up when waking up this morning. Do we think it needs to hit the MSM before price reacts??

I just can't believe in bitcoin keeping this upward trend. There's a lot of incertitude in the near horizon. Worst of them being the btc-e news.
How could euphoria come back at the same time ?

That or btc-e dumps were the cause of the price fall. Which doesn't necessarily mean it cannot happen again in the near future...
Holders may wait MSM and/or the next dump.

I had 21,000 NMC on there. Never bothered to create a wallet because they weren't worth much. Until they were. And I couldn't get them off the site.

Well,back in 2011 GOX was about the ONLY exchange around so anytime they fucked up they drug the price down....

Now with what 10 BIG exchanges or so,maybe more....it's just another day like Sadiq Kahn said,"Just gotta accept these jihadi things in the big city" Cheesy

I don't think there is going to be anything left for the depositors, especially after the legal fees BTC-e is going to have to expend trying to defend themselves. At the minimum, they are guilty of running an unlicensed money transmitting business. Maybe they will have good attorneys that can strike a deal that would cost a fraction of the $110 million the US government is now demanding, but I doubt it. From the government's official statement, it appears they want to make an example out of BTC-e.

Well, I had my accounts hacked in Bittrex and HitBTC by 24th July. The hacker also tried to hack into Poloniex, but this one asks for a code sent by email.

It was my fault, I used the same password in the three exchanges, and I was not using 2FA, a foolish attitude from my part. The hacker messed my Bittrex funds, he sold everything he could for bitcoins, except the altcoins below 50k satoshis in value. However, he was not able to withdraw it from Bittrex, since this would require a confirmation by email. I had nothing stored in HitBTC.

The interesting part is that I also have a account in Btc-e, and if I'm not mistaken I was using the same password there too. The attack was nearly the same time people reported Btc-e shutting down.

The exchanges sent emails with logging information, but not Btc-e. The hacker used a proxy and Chrome as browser.

Well, I had a similar experience with BTC-e.. actually twice. My account was hacked twice. The first time was fairly easy to regain access - about a year ago.

The second time was more extensive (about 6 months ago) - because my account had been hacked in a more invasive way, on the second occasion. Both times, I regained access to my account because they were convinced that it was me through various verification procedures.

If they were having difficulties verifying your identity - then yeah, more difficulties to get your coins back.

I really have my doubts about whether the government is going to return our funds in the status that they were... I have dollars and BTC on BTCe... so maybe like GOX, it could take a few years to regain access, if at all and then we might only receive a fraction of our amounts.

We gonna have to kiss our BTC-e funds goodbye? Let's see,... let's see?
