If you do have fiat, set sub 2000 bids up.  I did a week ago.

Can't see it holding all the way to the 1st at this rate whatever happens.  And if Segwit signalling doesn't look close at the end of the month it will get messier still; you may be looking at today's price with a wistful nostalgic sigh.

Note:  been away, and about to head off again to where it's light until midnight. However, I'm very happy with the WO survival...  and congrats to infofront for being brave enough to take on the thread. Right man for the job IMHO.

it started to fall right after you two posted..  Cheesy

ok, i put my buy order for fun at 2115 [testing how it feels catching falling bear Smiley]

seems like a good buy yeah there's a bounce each time a bottom is tested then drop continues
I was filled later in the night (finex). added one more lower and now i have another order at 2010.
Taking only small positions, because I know its bearish now and it can go deep below 2000. But in the past, I learned hard way not to short bitcoin, so im jumping in front of bears now Cheesy making tiny grid here.

Clean Code and Scale
Shit. Why can't we have a crypto wash out like these days but bitcoin is up same percentage as the rest is down?

 Huh

And I was thinking Ver accepted the fiasco of his BU project. Now he will try to sabotage segwit: https://www.dashforcenews.com/bitcoin-com-to-dump-segwit2x-roger-ver-might-help-nchain-block-segwit/
Pride, greed and envy are the forces that drive this lunatic. Angry

I followed that link, then listened to https://soundcloud.com/heryptohow/roger-ver-on-craig-wrights-the-future-of-bitcoin-speech. I must say that he has a fair point regarding scaling. I would agree with him, but I certainly don't like the prospect of less decentralisation due to more expensive node tech.

I guess it's down to a choice between two compromises.

Either way, I really think bitcoin is going to split much like Ethereum did.

edit: the only way to avoid a split that I can think of is to accept Segwit2x for now, then get consensus for much bigger block size over the next year...

Problem with Segwit2x is that they are pushing the for block increase soon after Segwit activation. If everything goes according to the plan, the August 1 split will only result in a minor split with those who won't signal for Segwit no matter what. However, there will be the risk for a more substantial split come mid November when the 2M blocks come into play.

That too, yes. But I even a 90/10 or 80/20 split on August 1st will be significant enough to put Bitcoin as a store of value into question. Just watch as Dash, Litecon, Ether etc get heavily hedged.

Some think that that there was some hat tipping going on there. I don't. I think he's sincere in his belief that the metals should be orders of magnitude higher, but also secretly knows that they are being manipulated down until the fat cat banks close out all of their short positions and start to go long.

I think overall negative sentiment on PMs is pretty much here... the bugs are exhausted and throwing in the towel. And I don't know a single family member, colleague, or friend that owns any PMs at all other than perhaps some jewelry. And most millennials are broke and so no they'd rather have some easy peasy crypto on their phone.

Its dropping like a rock.  We might see sub $2000 by the end of the weekend.

I don't think it will happen (I mean prices strongly sub-2k) for the simple reason that some people will be +20-30% up on their stash by selling at 2500-2800 and rebuying at sub-2k prices. If it goes way lower, some will be able to increase their btc holdings even more by simply trading the high and low. I guess some may be able to do it but BTC is scarce so it can't happen on a large scale, hence why the price will have to brake.

Strange USD funding wall on Bitfinex...$5.5 million at .03%.

Usually the funding is in the hundreds of thousands at most.

Not sure what it means, a lot of people can go long for a very low rate.

It probably means there have been a LOT of sells that are now in FIAT and they don't want to widthdraw to banks so they go the lending route with their "crypto money". Bullish!

I'm thinking bullish, too.. but with a different framework to the analysis.

The point is not that people are offering fiat for loan, but that there are people taking out the loans.. so they take out the loans in order to use the money to buy bitcoin, correct?  Of course, they could be using the money to short, but that just leads to too much complexity in the analysis, no?

Taking the loans? Not that much if interest was .03%. My point is that unless a real bear market comes for long term many people doesn't withdraw the FIAT but just rest it on the exchanges waiting for a better price, so the drop is cushioned or even reversed without that much need for "new money". It's just only a theory though. We will see.

Actually, they don't say it; Job said it.

"Naked I came from my mother's womb and naked I shall return thither.  The Lord gave and the Lord hath taken away.  Blessed be the name of the Lord."

As an aside, my training in biology suggests this shouldn't be attempted.

And I'm sure, at least for your mother's part, that it's fortunate you studied biology.
