you know it .. the red phallus will be yuge

and how much do you think the average japanese or korean person is going to care about an exchange they've barely heard of? they might nod and then keep on buying. it's slowly sliding into absolute irrelevance.

Finex is 141 USD lower than Stamp. There is simply no fiat left, and if the price is lower than other exchanges and USD deposits are not working, how do they expect to get more fiat? What could possibly go wrong...

Out if interest if one of us here was getting a divorce and the wife has no access to the bitcoins how would this be resolved? How would it be proved you even have any?

Mine for example does not give 2 shits about bitcoin or even the profits until she sees it in our bank account. Until then it's all make believe. Now if we got a divorce I bet suddenly bitcoin would become very interesting.

Personally I'd deny even owning bitcoin. Wtf can anyone do? .

Now I'd like to say I am happily married and have no issues here and this is totally theoretical.

And gentlemand I am mowing the lawn tonight.

That's the spirit. Take one for the team.

As pointed out above, you have to declare everything. If you don't then you'll get nailed to the wall.

But in the years to come I'm sure there'll be plenty of husbands and wives who tragically lost their Bitcoin nest egg due to hardware failure, or blew it gambling, yet end up strangely affluent a few years down the line.

Awareness is spreading. I'm sure I've seen a screenshot of a dole form where they're asking about your assets and specifically mention Bitcoin.

This is an entertainment thread, despite being in the speculation section. People have known this for years.

Actually it might be worth getting a divorce now before the price gets any higher!
Could end up giving away more in the future  Wink

If it is found out later that you lied when claiming your assets during a divorce you'll face criminal charges.

Calculation I made yesterday:

Assumes halving of time for price to double. Anyway, if this moves to $10,000 according to this curve, I'm out on 14 June 2017  Shocked Grin

"rationalising" - nope, not seeking any justification from you or anyone else.
"over investing" - nope, my only investment was in a few graphics cards, my time to set them up and the electricity they consumed while mining coins.
"worry about the market moving against you" - well, yes. Don't we all?
"cashflow issues", "need the money" - nope, I have a day job, BTC is a hobby.

Also, I don't trust exchanges with my money - I've lost coins on MintPal and narrowly avoided losing coins on Gox - so I only buy and sell OTC, I can't set any orders.

Any other wild assumptions you want to make?

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

My primary concern is that when the "perfect" time comes to sell, it might not actually be possible to do so. Exchanges are not as robust as they should be.
My secondary concern is that the dumps might come while I am asleep, most of the action happens when I'm tucked away in bed.

This is why I sold my trading stash, and I'm very content with that decision.

Your antagonistic replies - "sorry for your loss" "sorry for your short" - triggered me and in a few moments of weakness, I responded.
20 minutes of my life I will never get back. Another regret.

Someone... please... talk about walls or something.

Well, too bad that you take comments personally.

You do what you want, but seems like you are rationalizing... you can set orders.. but yeah, if you over invest then you worry about the market moving against you... of course.

I don't leverage, but I also make sure that I have enough cash to pay my bills for a few months... even in worse case cashflow scenarios.. but yeah, if I use some of those funds for betting on bitcoin, then yeah, I would not want to hold those funds in bitcoin if I need the money ..

I just want to say one thing:

We will never see 400 $ again.

Oh the memories  Kiss

Yep, and I was buying 'em at that time too. While this forum was a virtual ghost town sledge pool, with trolls either yelling "cheap coinz!" or "it's going lower bro" or "bitcoin is done, finished".

Tim Draper was buying too. And all the other U.S. Marshall auction winners.

Hopefully some of the newbs will learn a lesson from this. But somehow I doubt it.

Bitcoin FTW!
Another tiny correction before we move up the ladder again. Keeping us legit for a little while longer, we might even be able to hit +%20 today. We've already doubled in the last month according to bitcoinwisdom, though, not shabby at all.

We clearly have had different experiences of marriage.
How old are you and how old is your wife?

This is relevant, no need to look for excuses to get defensive.

Not defensive. Just aware this is very off-topic and supposed to be getting something constructive done. Unwilling to open a can of worms that - like bitcoin - is likely to be pre-settled in a person's mind rather than liable to be changed by discussion (or, as it happens, evidence - there's plenty of academic studies on it).
Since you asked, I'm in my late 30s and she's 3.5 years older than me.
Ok so she's too old to realistically leave and find someone else, and you likely got married before divorce court became what it is now. That's why you are happy to defend marriage. Your wife is TOO OLD for you to worry about her splitting with your shit.

For the rest of us, it doesn't take an academic study to figure out that getting married today is about the most self-destructive thing a man could do.

So, you're not making too many assumptions there then!
Humans are not complicated and hypergamy and sexual market value are well understood. And you didn't contradict me.
