How I see it: I've convinced myself that the bitcoin price will be significantly higher at some point in time. Reason enough for me to hold through everything.
I would advise to keep some eggs in another basket. Don't place all eggs into one basket.Those rules maybe ancient, but have proven themselfes since some time.

Exactly! Was going to start a business not a long time ago but when I found out how much should I invest in equipment, vehicles, salaries, premises rent etc and compared to the potential profit I asked myself why? My BTCs are earning more just by sitting in my cold wallet.
That seems more bussiness focused. You can differentiate inside the bitcoin sphere, too. Investment on mining equipment. Close relatives like Litecoin. Regarding salaries I am still waiting for a more structured trading company that would hire traders. So far, we all are on our own.

Going to be boring here, stop comparing bitcoin to dollar. 3 digit myth was always wrong because its established fact even government is happy to say each dollar declines in value every year so 3 digits was inevitable so long as the btc standard is being used. Bitcoin is being used and we see 4 digits. We arent holed below the water line like dollar has with its errant masters
What really would be decent, would be if bitcoin kept a level ratio with gold. Thats a real sign of quality if all we do is stay level with one of the most globally acknowledged asset bases. No government will say its money but for a hell of a long time its not lost anything so it pretty much serves that purpose. Like bitcoin, gold is going to go up as dollar suffers from deficits. If the only thing we do is stay level then Im happy, no need to be thinking of 3 4 or 5 digits even, doesnt matter only that we maintain a reliable exchange of value.
The whole ounce comparison is arbitrary anyhow. track it in grams per btc I reckon.
Anyhow while we obsess on 4 digits or 3, I'd say 1050 is the level to watch for now. That was my target and the trick is observing well how it reacts. Finding 1050 as support in the next days would be great. I will guess we are more sideways then up for now, mostly I hope we deal with weakness before moving on

Cant anyone fork any coin they like, its just the support that follows that fork that matters. Yep, still quite random now but in just hanging on for now. I don't expect too much in terms of a price rise as there's no reasons for the price to rise now but we could be surprised. Anything is appreciated in these times

I loved the idea behind bitcoin since the very beginning.
That's why I got into Bitcoin in the first place. The realization that I could make a lot of money from it came later.
It was all about decentralized, open-source peer-to-peer networking. This is what I call the real New World Order.
When I first heard about Napster, it wasn't free music that fascinated me. It was the idea of P2P file sharing. I watched as the process evolved from centralized to partially centralized and then to fully decentralized, ending up with bittorrent magnet links and torrent portals existing on redundant cloud servers based on multiple continents.
I watched Wikipedia evolve from a sketchy platform where anyone could post any bullshit they wanted to my go-to site for research. The site itself may be centralized but the content is controlled by a worldwide decentralized community of contributors who keep it honest.
Social media sites are similar. The sites themselves may be so centralized that they are all basically operated by Prism but the content is still supplied by a worldwide community. Likewise crowdfunding.
Long live the real New World Order.

Indeed. It wasn't long ago that $1000 seemed like a dream.
Remember when we first hit $1000 back in 2013? People were ecstatic. They planned international Bitcoin millionaire parties and bought Lamborghinis and castles.
Then some people convinced themselves that we'd never reach $1000 again. It was all fake, they said. MtGox, Willybot, Beanie Babies, tulip bubbles, etc.
Now it's become our new base line. If it dips below, it's only for a few hours, or as we saw this past weekend, a day.
Not bad considering that one esteemed moderator posted about the "myth" of triple digits back in the summer of 2013.
Just look at us now.
I agree however, that it is amazing how much Bitcoin grew since the end of the last bear market (post Mt. Gox), and even more amazing to compare it where we were before Mt. Gox.
Having said that, I also have to mention that in terms of development on the 'made' side of the bill there are couple of disappointments in the last four years.

Altland has become the new kickstarter for cryptocurrencies. Basically they're nothing more than tech start-ups that are using initial pumps as crowdfunding for their core developers' salaries.

there was a tweet today saying that there will be a fork of Bitcoin and that all Bitcoin holders will get tokens on the fork...
the tweet also said that they will attempt to claim the XBC symbol from the long dead BitcoinPlus...
