The interest hike has 2 outcomes. They don't raise the rates and it continues to weaken the dollar, which is good for Bitcoin but not any more than it has been.

Or they raise the rate and it pops the stock market bubble as our debt economy gets the signal that the cheap money train is over, destabilizing not just the US economy but the world economies.

The smartest thing they can do is come out of the meeting stating that they very likely plan on raising the rate .25 at the next meeting. This would be disruptive but would not trigger anything in the market and everyone can then prepare before the rate hike.

Strange, yet attractive.
Will Fed hike the rate today? (I don't think so).

And will the outcome be relevant to bitcoin price? How?

The last meeting July 28-29 had no effect on the price.

Macroscopically speaking, it will certainly have a positive effect. If BTC is considered a commodity (which we cannot know for sure it is) it will probably follow the PM standard procedure. When every stock out there will be crashing like there's no tomorrow, it will become a safe haven for some people. I intentionally left out the (long shot) possibility it will become the new world reserve currency. I don't even want to think about it. Wink

BitPay reported that they processed payments worth 158 million USD in the whole of 2014.  Guessing that they make 2% on each payment, from fees and/or exchange spread, that is less than 10'000 USD/day.

So that 'social engineering' attack may have cost them 6 months worth of their revenue (not just of their profit) in 2014.

People who bought at 200 and below are the winners again. We've already seen the bottom like how we did in January. That's my view on the market.

Articles like this used to move the needle. Why don't they anymore?

We all know that "Bitcoin technology" just means they created an alt.

Yes, the fed IS raising the federal interest rate today.
I was told by a higher-up from one of the big 4 yesterday evening.
