Hoping for a green week ahead of us.

Even if presumptively that chart with the squigglies was done by you, it would be better if you provide a bit of an explanation rather than just posting your "hope" and what seems to be a bunch of random thing-ie-ma-jiggies..  that hardly mean shit if we have not gotten some senses regarding how you analyze things a wee bit MOAR better.. rather than trying to discover what you mean by sorting through -  like a puzzle..

Anyone here like puzzles that are provided by "randos" on the inter---tooobs?

I have my doubts.

This is more to the point here, the chart didn't make much sense without an explanation. The only bit I made out was "First probably objective" around $23.8K for a bounce from $23K that was indeed achieved. But as for what POI, SSL, BPR or BSL stands for, I'm at a complete loss. The annoying thing is I'd be happy to see users post their alternative style analysis & charts here, if it actually made any sense.

Nearly all the charts posted these days (excluding Toxic240 and ImThor) are regurgitated from Twitter which usually is piss poor TA unless it's on-chain fundamentals, which usually speak for themself.

JJG misses the point entirely in favor of hammering another roundabout wall of text, which is unsurprising.

Its not about keeping the WO free of shitposts (an impossible and unnecessary task). Its about teaching the value of self-respect and encouraging others to better themselves rather than take the lazy route.

By rewarding merit farmers, you are teaching them that making a living through bullshitting and sucking up pays off. You actively contribute to their inability to grow as a human being.

Man who stares at charts (and stars, too...)

+1 WOsMerit

I was completely blind for these poverty / forum rank / signature campaign aspects, man.
Thanks for shedding a light.

frankly... I'm only about 70% sure that your post is not meant sarcastically ...

Two things:

(1). I know you don't know my habits too good (yet), but i really try to mark sarcasm and irony (for reasons) using emoticons (grin and twinkle, mostly). Since there is no emoticon, you can be 99,9% sure that i meant it. 0,1% are reserved for the rare occasion of me forgetting to emoticonify irony.

(2). I wouldn't credit a WOsMerit if i didn't mean it, would i?

Other things you might not know:

I am rarely aware of things i don't come across regularly, because of my fucked up Working Memory. This excludes facts and things i had learned before my Chronic Fatigue adventure, which started back in 2010 after a viral infection. It's a strange way to live through the days, being smart and intelligent but not able to hold information effectively in memory, which i was also very good at, before 2010. I come around slightly dumb to most "normal" people i personally deal with daily, which i find pretty ironic, but still - there is no irony.
Imagine trying to call out your neighbor's name to get his attention, but you can't remember it, because it is stored somewhere in your brain, but not accessible at the moment you need it. It's unreliable storage and retrieval of information in Longterm Memory, hard to explain how it "feels" like, so i use examples to make interested people better understand.
There are some Supps that help, but sustainable cure is yet to be found.

OT:

Speaking of Supps, i found some interesting Amino-acid lately: L-Theanine, which is derived from green tea, works remarkably well at dosage of 100mg daily.
WO brothers suffering from mood swings, anxiety, problems to keep focus and feeling stressed out or unrelaxed should more than just benefit from that stuff.
L-Theanine is the active component found in green tea, but the Caffeine contained in the tea is elevating restlessness and alertness, pushing heart rate and thus working like an antagonist to L-Theanine effects.
I have read that it really helps peeps suffering from anxiety of all sorts, who also don't want to take these emotionally flattening antidepressants (SSRI).
A few days of taking that shit and it started to work a charm for my focusing problems. It also got noticeably harder to get me upset and/or angry.

But the money coming in is government pensions.

1 win for me.

I would not call government pensions a win. for example, Ukraine denied their Donbass and Crimean citizens their pensions unless they moved to a part of the country which was not controlled by the Russia-supported Ukrainian rebels (AKA land which is controlled by the current government and those who support it) 8 years ago. Absolutely abandoned old/sick people to fend for themselves or die.

Those people lived in the wrong place at the wrong time and the government denied them their rightfully earned money.

So having your money taken hostage by your government is obviously not a win. No matter how good you think your government is.

That's deeply thoughtful... but it's maybe just a bit too much with regard to merit farmers

Come on, philipma1957!  Kick Chartbuddy's digital butt!

thanks for the support.

trying to top him is tough first day in we are tied 22 to 22.

I need a post or 2 to reply to or we may just tie.

should we call your phone every hour so you wont miss any slots?

Since I already gave too much room to the farmer bot topic JJG will probably agree, I will rest my case by announcing my full support of Phil's endeavour fighting Buddy and any other bot with bare hands...

May he be victorious in the battle of humans against the machines

I considered telling your second point to JJG,

.. and I surely have my doubts about the supposed "downfall" of this thread.. blah blah blah due to the merit system or whatever...

Overall, we have pretty damned decent posts in this thread and even other parts of the forum since the implementation of the merit system.

I think you exaggerate a bit.  There is no downfall of this thread. But surely the shitposters have changed  (...and I mean the real ones, not the regular WO shitposting crowd)

Back in the days they were at least reading the WO and you could have some pretty intense talks with them... fwiw to talk to Stolfi or roach
... more like real human interaction .... and no, I don't necessarily mean humane  Cheesy

Many farmers don't read anything, not even the replies to their own posts.  I have my doubts that all of these posts are done by humans.

And I think they don't have even 1% of the same AI bot quality as BTC Network's JJG-BotTM

Surely there are likely flaws with the merit system, including that perhaps merit sources could be rotated more frequently, including but not limited to yours truly.. but who is going to determine those things?  Theymos?  Should theymos appoint a Czar to oversee the ways that merits are sent out in order to determine if there might be some better substitutions of merit source members' discretion?

Is there some other meaningful resolution?

I think it's good as it is with regards to merit sources.
However equipping farmers with merits might feel to some a bit like upvoting scammers.

Nutildah seems to believe that attempts at shaming might be helpful... or other somewhat meaningless whining and/or drama on the largely irrelevant topic might help bring better direction to the topic....

rrrrrrriiiiiiigggggghhhhhttttt    Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

No need to feel shameful  Cheesy

But encouraging farmers' activity with merits will change the experience for WO readers...  and I just wouldn't want to see a future where half of my beloved WO consists of sowed farmer posts...

You are right though, I'm a bit disappointed by so much copypasta in the WO recently.  I liked it better without the merit system.

The merit system wasn't established for us to take it too serious, though.
...

That's exactly the point....  If you live in a low income country getting merits can be a very serious thing.  It may provide you at least with a 2nd income the wellbeing of your family might depend on.

I can tell ya, if I lived under such circumstances, I would rather do some posting on Bitcointalk than being exploited in a badly paid and exhausting 3rd world employment.

And that creates some very "motivated" merit farmers.

I don't think any of the older WO participants take Merits very serious.  But merit farmers do, for sure
