The longer we stay in this price range, the sooner the bears start buying.

One person can move the market much more than 10%

Who?  Satoshi?

Last I thought was the "Satoshi" stash was around 1,070,000 Bitcoins.  Loaded doesn't have 2-3 wallets ranging from 40,000 - 80,000 bitcoins.  There wasn't just 200,000 coins shuffled for a few laughs.  Estimated individuals holding more than 10,000 coins each is in the hundreds.  Exchanges don't profit in both bitcoin and fiat and have no reason for either.  A 10% market change right now would take ~2,500 coins but your right, Mr/Mrs/Ms Nakamoto must be the only person capable of such a feat.

"Buy All The Bitcoins!"

I just want the Satoshi handle to come back online in this forum and say "I told you so" and then disappear forever. Either that or move those 1,000,000 coins so everyone can stop and go "holy shit he is alive" and then let the frenzy begin. We will be at 10,000 by the end of the year. No one would be selling only buying. The founder lives! The mythical man exists.
Do you realy thick "normal" ppl and not the nerdy forum user care if he exists Cheesy?

If Satoshi moves the coins, the price will (temporarily) take a dive. The market has (rightfully) not priced in a 100% possibility that Satoshi is still able to access his coins. The chance of him not being able to might be small, but even 1% of his holdings is 10k BTC, >8$M.

Just a thought. Thanksgiving is coming. In millions of homes all over the country, distant relatives will be gathered together and are going to turn to the family nerd and ask "So what's all this Bitcoin thing about then".

4 digits by December?

Dammit!  I didn't think about that!  Guess I'm doing Thanksgiving alone.  I am just about sick of trying to explain bitcoin to people who can barely find the ON button to a computer and think that creating a shortcut to your desktop is mad skillz yo!  I'm glad though, that there's that one nerd sheep in every family  Grin

Everyone I tell about Bitcoin just says, "Huh..."

You over-estimate the quality of discussion of the average American family.

If these whales hold the price up they can keep a larger percentage of the average person from buying more coins.

The longer they try, the harder it will fall.  They need to just let the market run it's course.  I think Bitcoin is too well supported to see another April style crash.  A little correction is good for Bitcoin though.

You mean it's good for you and your profits. Wink

I wish these idiots would stop announcing Bitcoin to everyone - they probably aren't even buying just talking shizzle. In the meantime they are helping to drive the price up by getting more buffoons into Bitcoin while those of us who really believe in the true purpose and potential can't afford to buy as many coins.

man, you should have just bought more earlier...  Wink

I was about to buy at $120 but we went from the SH crash to $60 and then up to $900 and here we sit as someone holds the price at $825 with their algo-tradeathon.

No, they have enough Bitcoins to hold the price themselves. There are only some 1 million BTC being traded.

Some pretty huge futures volume (for icbit.se @ $10 a contract). March contracts are trading $500 over gox spot and when I looked last week it was just over double.

How big is the futures market?

Is icbit the only player?

I you really believed you would have bought them when they were cheap before the "shizzle."
