Cлaвa Укpaїнi!
Germany is sending 2700 'Strela' anti aircraft missiles to Ukraine.
They are Soviet made and were used by the east german military, and are apparently still in stock.
Oh the irony.

They are probably a bit outdated now, but should still be good against helicopters and slow aircraft.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.
BREAKING: Visa and MasterCard are reportedly shutting down their services in Russia.

Damn.

Looks like a PR move. Most banks were already under sanctions so those cards already couldn't be used outside of Russia. And appears they already covered their ass and domestic transactions in Russia will continue to work. It'll only affect tourists trying to use their cards inside Russia, not sure how many of those are still in Russia.

Quote
Beginning in 2015, the Russia government said domestic transactions in the Russian Federation had to be processed in the country and through a state-owned processor. Russia made moves in recent years “to insulate domestic card volumes from potential sanctions,” Barclays analyst Ramsey El-Assal wrote in a Feb. 28 note to clients, given the impact of U.S. sanctions on payment cards in Russia back in 2014.

Its mostly all PR now. I see all these celebs jumping on the Anti-Russian wagon to get some clout. And they always find a way to make it about THEMSELVES. Honestly, its disgusting.

Yeah, the above is very bad. But we're back to 1982 thinking here, and that's probably the best response in that type of game.

I'm ready...

Where you go from there is complicated. Nation building is not the forte of the US and there will be 140 million very unhappy people with broken Iphones......

Shoulda stuck with the ones where you carry the battery like a briefcase.

I obviously don't agree with what Putin is doing but I wouldn't underestimate any retaliation either.

Putin should be extremely grateful that NATO isn't nuking his ass. Not for Ukraine, but for threatening to use nukes. In the Great Game that is considered to be "not acceptable". Even if we go back to RealPolitik, it's a balance of power, not a terrorist game.

On a more 1980's note: If this is a nuclear terrorist scenario then now would be the time to strike. Russia's nukes are probably in worse shape than their tanks, why wait till they fix the stuff?

Yeah, the above is very bad. But we're back to 1982 thinking here, and that's probably the best response in that type of game. Putin lighting his stuff off first is not going to work well: ABM systems are a lot better than the late 1980's tech and I'd guess that a lot of the stuff wouldn't launch anyway. The response to such a move would be could best be termed an "out of court settlement" turning the leadership into glowing glass, trashing what's left of their launch capability, and sparing most of the people.

I am sorry, but I have no clue what you are talking about, and I strongly suspect that you don't either.
Or, is it a 'talk' after a few drinks?

BREAKING: Visa and MasterCard are reportedly shutting down their services in Russia.

Damn.

I would have thought BTC would have been near / above ATH by now as a result of these types of sanctions / bank & payment system pullouts.

That's what I was thinking about but I think there are people who are too scared to move their out of banks and are trying to keep as much cash as possible.
BTC might not be the actual solution currently for them. Would love to know more about what people in Ukraine and Russia thinks about overall crypto prospect atm.
