@cAPSLOCK I have several/many stories about analog synths and myself. Nothing famous, nor large. Yet I refrain because of OpSec. I've been online a long time, I am trying to keep these stories, each into their own world.

A good one I can relate, I went to NAMM (the music hardware exposition on the left coast of the USA, not VietNam). I had the pleasure of meeting Craig Anderton (perform your own search here). I was able to convey some of my work, it was a fun thing. He is a music guy that has done great work in recent decades, yet not a serious/famous performer.

Then later, we smoked some crack, and shared our favorite Linkin Park videos.

From what little I know about MIDI, it's not really suitable for such a task.

That's true. I worked extensively with MIDI,sequencing and SMPTE sync starting in 1986. The MIDI 1.0 spec would let you send note-on and note-off for "notes" designated 0-127. The receiving synth could then apply the note numbers to whatever sound(s) the operator chose.

By nature a Theremin is all 'swoopy' and never has perfect steps between notes (see the chorus on Beach Boy's "Good Vibrations"). MIDI additionally lets you change filters, velocity, and all sorts of computery music things. The MIDI 2.0 standard was introduced at the 2020 Winter NAMM show, but I haven't kept up.

I was around a Theremin once. Since I knew nothing about really playing it, beyond 'this hand is pitch and this hand is volume' all I could do was make strange science fiction noises.

You could define a middle note (c4 or a4) and use pitchbend-like control messages for gliding pitch control.
Much like CV, but in MIDI form. I used that on some occasions with oct/volt equipment and cv-midi interfaces.
Props for the Moog story, by the way. Legend  Cool

I used real CV (Control Voltage)  once. From memory, that was one volt per octave? Didn't look it up. I used Roland CV from an SH-101 (still have it) to a Jupiter 8 (still have it, the last of the analog monsters, 8 oscillators!! {a MiniMoog has 3} Sync all 8 to one key. You'd better put on a helmet.) The  proprietary stuff worked like a charm. CV desired to be what MIDI actually became: The One Interface, To Control Them All. And MIDI really was...

I was more of a MIDIOT, I knew of the cv-MIDI conversions, did not see them.

Again, and as always, the WO provides extreme fringe knowledge from our depth and breadth of experiences. And, Linkin Park videos!

Timing matters. Reaching disgusting fuck you levels with a foot already in the grave would have little effect on the average human's happiness level.

I feel you. I am 64 my okay success with btc is nice. But if I were 34 it would be more so.

Yea, especially during this covid s-t.
Unfortunately, you can't buy time..at least not yet..hang around another 20, who knows if we'll get something profound in the life extension field.

Just checked on the fees that I would need to pay to convert one of my shitcoins into USDT via DeFi and it comes to about $600. For $5000 worth of coins.

We are certainly not at the future of DeFi yet.

The RGB solution coming down the pike would be over the Lightning Network and cost almost nothing using client side validation. That is the future of DeFi.

I tried MetaMask. Fees running $100 to swap tokens. What a complicated and expensive process. Note to self: stick to bitcoin.

Didn't fees on btc reached $30 or above in 2017. We dealt with it, right (segwit, batching, lightning, etc)?
This alone does not mean much as there is always an argument that fees are high because the usage is high.
I distinctly remember people like Trace Mayer making this claim in 2017.
Naturally, there is a limit. If a tx costs $1000, almost nobody would tx, apart from a few whales.

That said, as a wallet, metamask is awesome. We need a great wallet like this for btc.
Some make claims that there are already a few good btc wallets, but when a TRULY great one comes, everybody would start using it.

'The right to privacy matters'
Another failure to sustainably penetrate $50k while alts are getting most of the attention. This is the predictable outcome of a failed cryptocurrency. Expect to see mostly lower prices for the rest of the year (and ever).
When I saw his post, I immediately knew that we would cross $50k to near-$51k levels today. Maybe even beyond that.

We didn't even kiss 51k, but got in the upper half of 50k.

Hm eddie?   I am wondering which charts you be looking at?

Around 28 hours ago (would that be 14:30 UTC yesterday), BTC prices got up to $51,050 on bitstamp.

You might need either a batman slap or some glasses.  #nohomo
I must remember this: a kiss is still a kiss, even if it's only the wicks.

Average of 200% per year seems a little pie in the sky though. That would bring her to 50M$ in 10 years. Somehow, it seems a bit too much. Not that I would complain.
