Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
You just gave me an idea. We could start a "Bitcoin School" where we could teach newbies about bitcoin, mining, blockchain and so on. A lot of people aren't getting far with DYOR (in fact it steers them towards shitcoins and scams where they lose their interest for crypto all together). People need mentors. This would also promote Bitcoin adoption.

What do you guys think? Would anyone be willing to start something like that with me?

edit: Are you in Miami?

I could probably work with you good ole buddy.  We could probably figure something out, no?

Second and last hint for today: It's in Europe.

I've heard of that place.  It's kind of on the Canadian border, no? I mean, "eh".. I should be more culturally sensitive.

We could also introduce some kind of buddy system and mentor system that rewards and incentivizes mentorships. Maybe a fee system to decentralise the platform and to pay for costs and incentives?

Buddies sound good.. we might need an ICO or some NFTs... of course bitcoin-friendly ones.  #nohomo

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"

This is a strange kind of proposal.  I wonder about the mechanism.. you get the $1k in bitcoin so long as you do not spend it for 5 years? If you spend it, then you do not get it?

I did a quickie search for the actual tweet, and I could not find it (which shows why it may well be a better practice to put a link to referenced tweets in this thread so we can easily look further into them without having to work too hard).

You will find many such offers where people will take your bitcoin or lend your bitcoin and give you USD in return as an interest.
Its a new sort of scam to get your bitcoins.

The earlier post was about some City offering to give residents of the city bitcoins as long as they did not spend them for 5 years...

Is one of the catches that they have to give the city something?  That does not sound right.  There was no claim or representation about having to give anything.

Something is wrong with that image, no?

It has the same statement on both the right and the left side of the bell curve.

The statement on the left (lower) side needs to be changed, no?  The statement on the right  (higher) side is o.k.. , no?

You get the whole point of the meme, right?  That the edges of the bellcurve are ironically both saying the exact same thing, and are ironically correct, while the great masses miss the biggest opportunity of their lives?

To me it's one of the truest of bitcoin memes.  The point is the masses are missing it.

To be honest a wise man said it to another man in a vision 2000 years ago basically:

Quote
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm--neither hot nor cold--I am about to spit you out of my mouth. You say, 'I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.' But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked.  I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see.

Fair enough.. I felt that I am buy at any price, but I could either be at the right side or the left side of the bell curve..

No problem.. no problem.

I  would like to get to 70k some time soon.  As I do not want that guarantee to continue to haunt me.

You are going to be in real BIG trouble if you do not get vindicated at some point sooner than 3-4 years.

So perhaps everyone (except me) will forget so long as King Daddy reaches $70k in the next year or less.. in the next 24 hours would be even better.... Make it so.. Philip!!!!!!!!!    Angry Angry Angry Angry

Sadly, most noobs don't really care. There's a cartoon (which I can't find now) with a booth with "when to buy and sell" and a huge line of people and one with "financial planning" with nobody. That's where we are. I used to go to a Bitcoin meetup and when the price was on the up, it would be packed and when the price was quiet, we'd be lucky to get three people. People just want to know how to get rich quick and believe Bitcoin is yesterday's news (it's not). You can lead a horse to water but you can't make it drink.

A sad truth right there.

Sounds pretty fun Bob. Like good, honest work put in to something that is uniquely your own.

Congrats to Rick and yourself as well, thanks for checking in and good luck finishing things up over there.

A Bitcoiner chooses. A slave obeys.

Precision Beats Power and Timing Beats Speed.
Well talking about Horses, if a Horse smells the water and if the water is poisoned with something it is very likely the Horse Will not drink that water. Same goes for food, the Horse smells if there have been Rats on the food and simply does not want to eat it.

Jay hasn’t given Llama Llama a good bat slap ..

Llama Llama deserves a hugging - not a slappening.

Gotta feel badly for wee widdle poor herbivore.

A fews days ago i saw a dream that one fine morning, i checked bitcoin price and it was 100,000$. I was so happy to see this but then my eyes opened and when i checked in reality it was around 48000$.
My friends says that i see real dreams, so this means that bitcoin will reach 100,000$ in reality  Roll Eyes

Oh gawd.. you must have retarded friends.    Roll Eyes Roll Eyes Roll Eyes

hahahahaha

 Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

People who are into bitcoin have all kinds of dreams that are all over the place, so why the fuck would your dream be any more likely to come true than some other random dream that some other random bitcoiner has that has some other somewhat random version of thought about events that you wish might or might not happen at some random point in the unspecified future?

https://medium.com/blockstream-markets-weekly/blockstream-markets-weekly-sep-3-2021

- Twitter working on BTC support
- El Salvador approves $150M BTC fund
- Miners record $1.4B in monthly revenue
- Skybridge capital expects $100K by year-end
- Paul Tudor Jones rumored to be preparing new BTC fund
- Institutional interest: BTC linked stonks are outperforming BTC
- and volatility drops as BTC tests smashes through $50K once again

And price goes down.

Head scratching...

Head scratching indeed because the same thing is not really happening for shitcoins. Which makes me think their is the possibility of either:

  • Another top like earlier in the year
  • When Bitcoin goes high enough people are tkaing profits and putting them into shitcoins
  • Entities are doing their best to supress the price of Bitcoin against rising demand

Regarding the third option, very possible, as we are not getting dumps but more like just putting a cap on the gains. These entities may not have the ability to force a dump. Though I think the second option is more likely. Obviously, the smart money is not doing this, but if there is anything about this space it is that it is filled with a shitload of dumb money.

I do think the price is going to blow straight up in a massive way soon though.
