Don't go suicidal, will you?

I'm sure he's the reincarnation of roach, who probably might have passed away from severe argyrosis and anxiety over the price of silver compared to Bitcoin. So even if this guy ends himself, he will come back as someone equally annoying. Cry

I really noticed that my brilliance is not appreciated and therefore I Will give you what you guys want and deserve.

My absence.

Didn't you say you were leaving?

Oh, yeah... you said it. (therefore I should have known it was BullShit!)

Only idiots would see themselves as brilliant.
At least he was brilliant enough to see that self-substraction would be best.

4 year degree, cost of tuition = 5% of returns on a 4 year cycle with a minimum investment of $XXXX. This locks in a mutually beneficial quality control.
(Just contributing to the brainstorm)

Hmm... Nobody is going to spend 4 years on learning about Bitcoin.

Bitcoin Hogwarts

or

Bitcoin Harvard?

Im pretty sure that J.K. Rowling and Harvard would be more than happy to find, sue and restrict our asses for those names.

You just gave me an idea. We could start a "Bitcoin School" where we could teach newbies about bitcoin, mining, blockchain and so on. A lot of people aren't getting far with DYOR (in fact it steers them towards shitcoins and scams where they lose their interest for crypto all together). People need mentors. This would also promote Bitcoin adoption.

What do you guys think? Would anyone be willing to start something like that with me?

Which platform do you eventually think of?
Daily lessons via twitter?
I'd suggest some platform that already attracted a lot of newbies and is highly active (facebook would be the lowest mark on this scale).

Theymos considered giving courses a while ago.

https://bitcointalksearch.org/topic/idea-courses-4609442

I suggested using moodle, the same free software that Cambridge University uses.

https://moodle.org/

It's been over three years since he started that thread. It's still active.

I would love Theymos onboard if he has time. He might have his hands full with Bitcointalk.

We could start off with social media but at some point get our own platform. We could also introduce some kind of buddy system and mentor system that rewards and incentivizes mentorships. Maybe a fee system?

The own platform would only make sense with video tutorials and live coaching?.
(i'm out)

A minimal approach could be a channel named like "bitcoin school" on Twitter. I read they are currently working on implementing BTC tips via lightning.
Expect KYC, though, but it would be similar to paypal-level, so kinda weak then, i assume.

No, the whole point is to keep it decentralised and anonymous. No videos. No KYC. I imagine something more like a guided process tailored towards each individuals needs and knowledge levels. Currently learning about Bitcoin is more of a try-and-see approach.

Or even more a hearsay and look approach. Which undoubtedly drives some of these people into CSW's or Bitcoin Judas' arms.
Advertising has probably to be targeted to take hold mainly on social media. It's still huge.

Im sure we could find ways other than KYC to verify experts. If we take merited/trusted people from this forum as the first teachers and their graduates can become teachers too. We could also introduce a merit/trust level system for the graduates. They would have to pass exams and so on. Kind of like a academic system like in university. Lessons can be "peer reviewed" that way. Two(4?) words: NFT Degrees Cheesy

Came out of lurking to state that I have taken some profit to buy me some new (second hand) wheels, a 2017 Tesla model S 100D (with the upgraded audio package amongst other things). Will be going to Nice (F) next tuesday with the misses in it.

Doomed to see the future and unable to prevent it
A fews days ago i saw a dream that one fine morning, i checked bitcoin price and it was 100,000$. I was so happy to see this but then my eyes opened and when i checked in reality it was around 48000$.
My friends says that i see real dreams, so this means that bitcoin will reach 100,000$ in reality  Roll Eyes

I just went out with a realtor yesterday to view a property based on the likelihood that bitcoin will be over $100k by the end of the year. I wanted to be ready.

I'll definitely be looking at a BlockFi loan as opposed to cashing out.

Tell us how it works out, Elwar! This is useful info.

I've been wanting to do something like that for a long time: extracting fiat without cashing out. I'm just very wary, because all the bitcoin lending setups I've seen in the past were scams. BlockFi looks like it's a bit different... until it turns out it really isn't?

From what I saw the US government is fighting them on the Bitcoin loans.

I figure if I get the cash in the form of a loan for the equivalent amount of BTC that I would have otherwise received via cashing out then they go bankrupt or whichever, it still qualifies as a loan as far as the IRS is concerned. Just nobody to pay the loan back to.

Quote
As of February 2021, BlockFi requires you to maintain a 50% loan to value (LTV) ratio to borrow US Dollars. If you are borrowing $25,000 today, you need to put up 1.36 BTC as collateral on a 12-month term.

If 1 BTC is worth $30,000, for example, then you would need to put up 2 BTC as collateral to borrow USD 30,000 from BlockFi.

Fillippone won 15 sMerit.
Yay!

I like this game...

Merits are the icing on the top.
I must admit I have NEVER been there.
I immediately tought about Venice because of the poles in the Sea... but there are no visible cities from Venice (been there).
So I tought about Trieste (never been there).... loooking on Google maps i found Grado (never been there)....
Street view no great help so I googled:

"Trieste as seen grom Grado", in italan and I found this interesting picture:

Bingo!

Really good work. Maybe a little too fast, but that's only based on my own expectations. Next time i'll try better to extend it more Smiley
Great find on google, too.

I'd be very wary about handing coins over to BlockFi, it may easily turn out to be the regulated version of what bitcoiners know as "the exit scam".

effectively you'd be selling the bitcoin at a discount given by the collateralisation rate .... and paying interest on the privilege until the the time they go bust and say "coinz went somewhere"

they had a high profile ex-regulator on the board to suck in some credibility and more coins ... he just left

they did the same thing with Corzine and MF Global when they needed physical gold to keep the dollar ponzi alive a bit longer in 2008 ... set-up an options and futures racket to suck in the desired physical product then go bust and pay out cents on the dollars in dirty printed fiat .... burns all the little guys and keeps them away from the casinos big tables where the banks play

it's all a shell game where you got to keep your eye on the pea .... CME got the gold to cover all the big boys shorts positions and all the little guys who were long gold in the futures market that was blowing it up had money confiscated, criminally so, directly from their accounts .... Corzine walked with a slap on wrist $5 mill fine, JPMorgan got the little guys siphoned fiat the day before it went bust ... CME got the gold and the fiat ponzi game goes on, only big, connected shorts that keep the fiat show alive get to truly use leverage .... all is well with the world, if you're okay with criminals in high places
