JJG, with all due respect, I run mostly old PC hardware here. If I have a lowly 1900x1080 in one monitor? And you have ONE POST that fills it all?

Try the decaf, dude. Volume does not equal quality.

Thanks Phil.
No one seems to disagree so I take it that you are right.

Binance bitcoin card update.

Just like Biro Bob wrote, I drove down to the Shell 24/7 station and at the pump i got "invalid card" but at the counter I could pay just fine.
I then drove to OKQ8 unmanned station and it didn't work, on to Ingo unmanned and it didn't work there either.
So I guess you can only use it for gas if you pay at the counter.
I will try Circle K too later  but that will be the last one.

I'm gonna go try the card on some other gas stations too and I'm also gonna see if I can fool the system and get cashback on cash withdrawal by doing it at checkout when I pay for my grocerys.

You will probably have this problem with several petrol stations. This is because the card is classed as a prepaid card rather than a debit card. I had a similar problem using the Revolut card when traveling through Europe. Some stations were fine and others weren’t. You can usually pay at the counter with it (after fuelling) but not at the pump (before fuelling)

It's been a while since I did much conversion but last I recall, it tended to be that you got a better rate if you had your card do the conversion (if using a credit card) than the bank ATM because banks are bastards.

I completely agree with Richy here. I ALWAYS ignore the conversion rate offered and pay in local currency. The visa or mastercard rate offered by Revolut is far better and they don’t charge a high ‘non sterling’ fee. On larger transactions such as hotel bills, the difference can be quite substantial. You were lucky they were the same rate on this occasion, but maybe try a few more to be sure.

'The right to privacy matters'
And also, when I write "blipp" I mean contactless payment, where you only put your card next to the terminal and it goes "blipp" and the transaction is done. It's called "blipping" in Sweden, I don't know what it's called in English.

afaik, there is no word, but we have a system where you gently touch the pad (no insertion of the chip).
maybe it should be called 'bumping'.

i hear it called "tapping" ie "tap and go" or "tap and pay"

Isn't it just literally contactless?

Yes and no.

yea, maybe

maybe, but making a slight touch seems to somehow help, at least this has been my experience and that's what cashiers always suggest-to tap/bump it.
