I can't claim to understand what Musk is doing... he seems to enjoy playing with DOGE, and almost seems to like to fantasize about it becoming the "money of the world".  I think he would get a kick out of it if he could cause it to disrupt bitcoin to whatever extent.  Or maybe he's just putting out smokescreens to manipulate the markets... or he's just bored.  No idea really.

As to the media pushing Avg Joe away from the corn... God I don't know how to read this either.  There is no doubt the media is  no longer anything CLOSE to unbiased anymore, and it is clear the foundational aspects of bitcoin work against what the people in those institutions believe in.  It is not going to help with their shared goals of the whole "great reset" type of world order with CBDCs sucking value away from the rich while airdropping on the poor etc etc...

On the other hand the people at the top of the bell curve pretty much always remain asleep until the revolution is nearly over.  It could just be that they are just THAT average.

Doge is people's money-certainly it is said in jest.
That said, investment 'people' do not picture bitcoin as a transactional currency, just a SOV right now.
S-coin #1 is also unusable for anything else, but larger scale speculation, with the cost of contract tx being about $20-40 and a regular send being $5-6.
So, can doge, being a cheap meme, be prompt up to be tx layer? The money for 'people'?
I say NO with 99% probability, but then, what IS or rather what would be, eventually?

I can't believe how many people are taking his shenanigans seriously.

He's just laughing his head off at the stupidity and gullibility of social media users.

Plot twist: he's just talking his book. 

I get what you are saying, as I had the same thoughts.

But what kind of fucked up world do we live in, where the Michael Saylors and the Winklevosses of the world can sing the praises of Bitcoin all day every day, but the Elon Musks of the world are threatened and told to shut up about it? That distracting the world with shitcoin and meme stonk talk is ok'ed and encouraged?

Meanwhile billionaires are secretly taking large positions in Bitcoin, large hedge funds and corporations are secretly doing the same, banks and payment processors are looking to become future custodians of Bitcoin, and all the while the media is telling Average Joe that Bitcoin is a scam, a meme, a bubble, to stay away, etc. ?? Still to this day, 10 years after inception, they are still telling the public that.

I've never seen anything like this in my lifetime. This shit is fucking unbelievable. It's gone full retard now.

I know exactly what happened as that shit happens to me often. His tweet about Bitcoin had repercussions. Real life ones that would impact his business and the ability to move forward on his projects. They pretty much told him to shut up about Gamestonk and Bitcoin or else.

This lead to him posting that he will be off of twitter for a while.

Then he was like...fuck it...I'll just post some shit about Doge to show people that I'm not seriously endorsing anything, that he's just having fun on twitter.

He is now openly fucking with those that threatened him.

Right after he posted about Gamestonk and Bitcoin the FAA started screwing with him (he also mentioned that the FAA was getting in his way).
He was likely served with some lawsuits by people that lost money on Gamestock for "advising them".

He's the richest man in the world, people are going to go after him.

I have had to become very quiet on social media since having a cruise ship. It sucks. I didn't think anyone watched my stupid little Youtube videos then I get something from one of my videos quoted in the Guardian and now I realise I need to post only stuff I would be willing to have in a news article or just post garbage that they cannot take seriously.

Though I thought one of my Facebook posts about communism was tongue in cheek enough only to have a reporter ask me a question about it.

You're probably ignoring the rumor that he is secretly buying a billion dollars before finally tweeting to buy Bitcoin to the public. That, and he hates shorts / shorters. For stocks anyways.

As much as I like and admire Elon Musk and his achievements, I think he's wrong about this. He should be supporting Bitcoin. DOGE may be good for fun and memes, maybe even for GameStop/Robinhood, but it shouldn't be supported by people like Musk. I've just read some of his latest tweets and it looks like he's on drugs. Something's off...

And not only that, he has more than 42 million clowns following his every move and falling into a trance with each new tweet. He’s actually one of those people who have to be constantly in the public spotlight - because he thinks the world revolves around him. If you look only at a brief history of his tweets, you get the impression that this is the profile of someone who is 15-16 years old and has some personality disorder.

The time for Bitcoin to be taking seriously in the public eye is now. It is a serious, sound financial asset.

If he was a responsible person, he'd be telling his followers that DOGE is a complete shitcoin and nothing more, and that they should stay far away from it.

Instead, he's doing the opposite. And some people will be taking him very seriously.

This is why the public continues to remain uneducated and ignorant about Bitcoin, because (along with all crypto) it is treated like a meme and a scam, even by highly visible people.

I don't think it is entertaining. If a shorter does the exact opposite, people start screaming hell and disaster. The principle remains the same.
