Note the unconventional cAPITALIZATION!

And i didn't receive any more emails from them today.
Close, pretty close. But my Email leaked, not that bad too, because it can't be linked to my real name or personal data.
The nanos are worthless now too, because if they will go broke because of this, or other shit they will do or did, there will likely be no servers running, at some point, for their client software to connect to.
However, lesson learned. Thanks, life.

How do we know they sent their email out to the right customers?  That's the sticky bit.

One good thing.  You don't need ledger for the decide to work.  You can use it with Electrum for example.  In fact I suggest H/W wallet users DO THIS since you are leaking your BALANCE to Ledger (or Trezor ) when you use their wallet.

So as long as you have your seed backed up properly there is no risk with Ledger going out of business.

Eadem mutata resurgo
... for all you Brits who are wondering how in the heck a new highly infectious strain of Sars-CoV-2 with 23+ new mutations (including to spike protein) (hint: statistically impossible number of mutations) managed to originate in little ole British Isles ...

... looks like the heroic lab technicians who are trying to save us from the CCP plague have let another one "slip past the goalie", so to speak ...

... SHRRARSV is similar to SHRARRSV in MHV. This is an adaptation to murine Furin. N501Y is the signature mutation of serial passage adaptation in mice. This is very obviously a lab escape of a mouse serially passaged variant.

Both the S1, the RBM and the FCS of the UK variant show obvious sign of adaptation in mice. Mouse can not be “naturally” infected with field isolates of CoV2. The S1 deletions are found in MA15 variants of SARS. N501Y is the RBM adaptation mutation you see in serially passaged mice.  https://jvi.asm.org/content/82/12/6078 … the SHRRARSV is very similar to the SHRARRSI of MHV. It also appeared to revert a cell culture signature in the original WuHan-Hu-1 by removing the Heparan Sulfate binding motif in the S1-S2.

Thanks Elwar for the post and appreciate how challenging this undertaking would be.

If all you need is a certificate of currency for P&I, then one way through the puzzle is to get a $20 million policy with a $20 million deductible.... it means the policy is worthless, but you get your piece of paper.  The certificate of currency will not show the deductible value and if the regulator asks to see the policy wording you can tell them to fuck off because the policy is commercial in confidence and they only need the certificate of currency.

Enjoy taking the time off and look forward to reading about your next adventures.

This is exactly what I started telling our people to tell the insurance companies (give us a deductible up to the amount of coverage). At one point we were ready to self insure but our ship management company insisted P&I was the only way.

I did not have the time to become an insurance expert enough to argue with the company we hired that is one of the top ship management companies in the world that is supposed to know the maritime insurance industry.

I will have time now to become an expert in the same way I became an expert in maritime law and was arguing with our maritime lawyers, explaining the law to them.

Do you also need a ship management company, insurance and stuff if the ship doesn't leave the harbor? Keeping it as a stationary ship was not an option?

Be your own lawyer  Cool

I would have...the speaking Spanish part was an obstacle.

And in Panama it is pretty much...you're hiring the decision maker's cousin.

However, lesson learned. Thanks, life.

I think the lesson leaned is "if you don't want it exposed, don't submit it anywhere", which is impossible to apply nowadays, but paper wallets or OTC h/w wallet purchases can help in the case of Bitcoin, to prevent associating out personal data with our potential crypto holdings, which is the real issue in the Ledger leak.

Ledger update:

I took my backups and extracted the emails from about three years ago, when i ordered my first nano.
Clicking on the "Order details" link takes me to a page where order details are shown as "hidden" (for my security), because the order completed.
So far so good, that's maybe why personal data from my order is not included in the e-commerce db leak, but my email must be there, because of the lately increased spam.

Reviewing my recent order shows all data, but it's completed as well.
I have to insist to apply GDPR Art. 17 to all my personal data @ledger.
Another grumpy email session  Embarrassed

Don't bother at this moment.
Instead, query a database
there are two places:
https: //intelx.io/?did=8761746e-d333-4256-bbcd-9100c8722799
or simply https: //intelx.io , then search for your e-mail. It will show either just email OR the whole echilada (address, name, etc)
Alternative is https: //haveibeenpwned.com/ , but people say that intelx is better because you can just scan with email.

I am putting the gap (between : and //) in the address, so it would result in non-clickable link.
You can assemble if so desire.
If your info is there, GDPR will do nothing as the data is already out there, sorry

Strangely, hibp.com shows two breaches for my email, and one of them is "Covve contacts app", though i never used it.
Ledger is also listed.

Regarding intelx, i have been using up my limit as non-registered user for downloads of the eight txt files with personal data.
Will have to wait until tomorrow to download the email database files, for a local scan.
I know, i could reset the gateway, clear the cookies and cache and have another free go today, but it's not that important to me, now that i know that my personal data wasn't exposed.

ledger have been hacked
seems like my data is safe
i am pissed off, though

EDIT:

From ledgers email about the leak (yesterday):
