Kraken's 100k EUR wall was not crossed yesterday. Just touched.

Around 50 BTC tall. Easy-peasy.

Should be crossed today.

100k GBP next

I heard there's a British Only Fans girl doing pushups with 100 guys per day until Bitcoin reaches 100k GBP.

Per day? Oh my! I thought it was a one-time thing. Poor girl.

I was thinking that maybe I could buy a Bitmain Antminer S21.  They are anywhere between $4k and $6k through Amazon, and they would be like 25-50x more powerful than my Bitaxe.. but in terms of sourcing maybe it would be better to buy from somewhere other than Amazon.. and maybe even pay with bitcoin?
I wonder if the S21s were very difficult to set up?
Not difficult at all, but they emit soul-crashing noise, which is probably not a problem in an isolated basement that has an AC or a vent that has a 200V outlet (or two).

It also needs some 'serious' and somewhat expensive cables-Phil probably told you. If the cables you use are not 'enough', they could get on fire, so this is a critical point.
Sorry, it makes little sense to pay for S21 with bitcoin, imho, unless you immediately replace it (buy buying an equivalent amount of bitcoin for $$) as the miner is unlikely to mine a amount of bitcoin you bought it for. How come? Because miner prices are high during the bull market and bitcoin prices (in $ seem to increase).

So, ideally, you effectively pay with $$, then you mine bitcoin that exceeds the monetary value (in $$) you paid for it. You will also have a remainder miner value in a couple of years.
if he can stand the noise, has proper 220 volt
this is better.

3500 not sure they will take a cc from a new guy. but I got mine with a cc
[edited out]
if he does not rewire  uses 120 volt
he can get this
https://altairtech.io/product/bitchimney/
the higher end 1999 model does  40 or 53th based on 1 s21 hash board
That would save the worry about the wiring... even though I already have 220 in the garage, yet that would cause the garage to get quite hot, especially in the summer. .but I have a few windows in there too... but yeah, if Transformer S21 does not come with the proper plugs and proper cables, then I would have to make sure that I get the correct ones.

Regarding some of our earlier discussion of the mining, it seems a bit of a trade off between the miners, and getting me worried about how much work there might be to set up.  The bitchimney has only 1 S21 chip, so it is 1/3 the hashing power of the transformer that seems to have 3 s21 chips... So the bitchimney ends up costing more than half of the transformer even with ONLY 1/3 of the hash power.

The Transformer also has a 2.8 % developer fee in regards to the use of its Vnish firmware, yet I would imagine that you, Philip, are running another firmware, since that would be a lot to be paying 2.8% fees.. Would 2.8% get deducted from any coins mined?

On my Bitaxe, I am wondering if I have to do anything else in regards to receiving payments... I  have to figure out what is public-pool.io's payment policies... or should I try to figure out how to direct my hash towards Ocean mining?

If you think that selling 1% was too much, then why didn't you just sell 0.1% or 0.3% or 0.5% or some lesser amount instead of selling more than you wished to have had sold?  #asking-4-a-friend
No the amount is right for the trade to make sense. And is also right about what I'm missing to make an offer on the house.

Also technically I had bought that corn at some lower price earlier in the year, below 50K$, so it's already a good trade (I just thought about that).

Maybe I am just a bit bothered by your seeming to have regret, since if you had determined a range in which you might have wanted to do something, then maybe there should be rejoice in regards to the range having had worked out with what you had considered to be an acceptable range to sell a certain amount.

Of course, I am also bothered by ideas of selling BTC and expecting to be able to buy back cheaper, but yeah, I know that guys do it, yet I find it a bit of a problematic way of dealing with this particular asset... especially as I already mentioned in a few of my other recent posts, so many folks selling around $100k and expecting to buy back 15% to 25% or even more cheaper, and I really don't expect that to work out. yet sure, your own buy back range that seems to be around a 7% drop is not very far out of reach, yet we still would not be able to count on anything like a 7% drop, even if our odds of reaching it may well be quite a bit greater than the guys who have been waiting for a drop of 15% to 25% or more.

given ludicrous amounts of btc and cash. I would want It. Looks like you could just fly at ten feet over a small lake while you learn.

You speculate that it would be safer to land (crash) in water with one of those than it would be to land (crash) on land?

Regarding cost, I did a quickie search and it costs less than 3 BTC (currently).  No problem, right?      although with any toy we shouldn't be wanting to spend all of our stash on it, so maybe we should have more than 10 BTC if we are going to spend close to 3 BTC for a consumption toy like that.. but then maybe it does not matter too much if we ONLY were to have 3 BTC, since we probably would not be living very long if we are playing around with those kinds of contraptions.

I read a bit further and it is not even expected to be available until 2026, so it might cost less than 1 BTC by the time it is available.. although maybe you would have to prepay in 2025 if you were going to take delivery in early 2026?  but still.. it still might cost less than 1 BTC by then..

I want mine in orange.

Orange and black would look nice there, with a BTC on the bottom. We have a bathroom in orange, I called it BTC orange after painting it but I just got eye rolls from most of my family. Cheesy

As for me ever actually getting into one of those things, near impossible chance.. with or without a harness lol.

To me these things, at least the ones that look like that without any wings, need a ballistic parachute. And all of them, wings or not, need some kind of giant airbags so that dropping from low altitude is survivable.

wonderful weekly closing.

Makes it more challenging for the upcoming week if the previous week closed very close to ATH prices.

We had 6 out of 7 of the last weeks close in the green.

100K€ yay

As my timing is always impeccable I tried to trade today and sold a bit over 1% of my stash at 103900$, you can thank me, now we're never going down to my buy back price of 96900$.

Selling with the intention to buy back lower is not a good practice in BTC, unless you happen to have reached a status of overaccumulation... .. and even then, why would there be a need to buy back cheaper?

A hard nut to crack, no?

It was corn I had laying around on an exchange so technically not part of my stash.

Like a rummage sale.. just extra stuff you did not need.

I have no problem with that kind of a framing - except that it is not true, especially since you are saying that you want to buy it back..

hahahahaha

And I probably need the money to buy a McMansion I'm looking at so if I can never buy back it's not a big deal, but still I'd have liked that one trade to work out.

Make up your mind.

Either you needed it or you didn't.

Self-Custody is a right. Say no to"Non-custodial"
For 2025 I see two strong positive possibilities (among others):
1. If they announce SBR (strategic bitcoin reserve) in US, the only way they can accumulate bitcoin fast enough (and not overpay) would be to announce that if you send your bitcoin to SBR, all your cap gains are tax free. Of course, they could say that you also need to have it for one year or more, which could be just fine.

2. They could make bitcoin a permissible subject of a 1031 exchange. Before (in 2017), they specifically excluded it, but if that law would be amended, it would be another positive step for the price. 1031 exchange right now could only be done with real estate. This is basically a rule that you can "exchange" one RE property for another. Cap gains then are considered to be "transferred" to a new property. Before 2017 many types of property exchange were allowed, but the only remaining now is RE.

https://www.investopedia.com/terms/s/section1031.asp
overpaying could well be part of their plan. They fill their bags (like Trumps son did) and then they pump the price into Nirvana...  most gainz for them...
hey be prepared for uppity.

maybe we get to beat gold market cap.
I hope Schiff's anus is ready

Yep.  Various times I hear Schiff talking about bitcoin as compared with Gold, and he will say thing like:

1) "bitcoin is only pumping because ETFs"

2) "bitcoin is only pumping because the US Government is pumping our bags"

3) "bitcoin is only pumping because people are deluded about bitcoin and they just pump it for the mere sake of pumping it"

4) "bitcoin is only pumping because China"

5) "bitcoin is only pumping because Bukele and El Salvador"

6) "bitcoin is only pumping because MSTR"

7) "bitcoin is only pumping because various shitcoins exist that causes bitcoin to rise in price"

8 ) "bitcoin is only pumping because Max Keiser told me about it when it was $10 and I thought it was a bubble then, and I still think it is a bubble"

9) "bitcoin is only pumping because blah blah blah"

Schiff tends to have a lot of lame and whiny excuses regarding why bitcoin is pumping and it should not be pumping which truly is irresponsible for him as a fiduciary to his clients if he is failing to allocate in responsible ways, even if he had taken a 1% allocation to bitcoin in 2012, when he first heard about it, he would have been in a much better hedged position... rather than his seemingly ongoing and increasingly obvious dumb whining about how the various price  pumps of bitcoin are just artificial and have little to no substance behind them, so frequently it can be difficult to feel sorry for the guy..and I suppose his clients are dumb too for staying with him, even though Schiff should have some responsibility in regards to how he has been steering his clients over the years.

Will I live to see,
A multiversal blockchain?
Schrödinger's cat horse bounce!

FTFY

...I had an idea recently that I wanted to present here, just for fun really.  We have been in a range from about $99k - $103k for weeks now.  Why might that be?

Perhaps because some HODLers (myself included) wanted to have a record, a "souvenir", that they sold some BTC at over $100k.  A psychological thing.  In my case, I just sold a smidgeon of BTC at a (bitbo.io) price of a bit over $103k.  But, Gemini (my exchange) does not actually pay that.  They take about 2% of the selling price (plus a fee).  So, I only got my sale proceeds at an actual price of about $101,250.  That is the first time I actually have a sale of BTC at a real price of over $100,000.

I would speculate that there are rather many who would take a slice of their HODLings for that psychological 6-figure sale.   They did it!  They can show their friends or family that they sold over $100k!  What geniuses!

That might also mean that when those HODLers take that souvenir, there might be somewhat less selling, and BTC price can resume its upward march...

^---  The above is just a thought.  I don't pretend that it means much or anything.  I just present it, well, as something that that you all might enjoy or make you go "Hmm"...
Reading your post I feel motivated to sell some sats above 100k as well...

Hahahahaha

It's a sign.
