Trusted Bitcoiner
The question now is, will their be some more "disastrous news" delaying the lift off over 50?

and who cares if there is?

good thng is that due to the nature of the bug, Gox was forced to close bitcoin deposits, therefore not many bitcoins were sold in panic. Now hopefully new users will not get scared by bitcoin problems and will continue buying at >  50  Cool

What if now more people have their coins on MTG to react faster in case of a failure?
If the "community-test" goes well ---> $50 would be quite cheap  Wink

Another day above $45 with record liquidity.

Bitcoin looking oh-so solid these days.

Solid, really? Are you looking at the whole picture, or are you blinded by the charts?

At least they are already working out solutions.
Since we didn't get a sub $30 sell off already, I don't think we'll see it.

Yes, because the numbers don't like.  It was a test of the community, and the community succeeded and pulled through.

Was that /sarc? If not, would you mind clarifying for us laymen?

Sure man. By liquidity I mean the amount of dollars available on the exchange.

If you look at the graph below, you can see the amount of dollars and Bitcoin that are on the orderbook. As you can see from the blue line, we are over 6.3 million dollars. This is an all time high.  We first approached $50 per Bitcoin at 4.5 million dollars in liquidity.

Basically, I'm a bull.  Cool

EVERYONE who was around for the 2011 crash had a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach a few nights ago.
Only because I didn't have any dollars sitting in my account at Mt Gox.

Whatever I had at Gox to sell during the bug crisis, I just bought back with. I kept the fiat for a while as insurance in case we go down, but it looks like we're back on track towards $50. Could be wrong about this but I just see everything as so bullish, the market reacted astoundingly maturely to the whole bug thing. Up we go, I think.

I agree. I didn't that Bitcoin was so mature at this point that it would shrug off the whole incident so easily.  When things are so bullish that even I'M amazed, you know we're on the path to success.

EVERYONE who was around for the 2011 crash had a sinking feeling in the pit of their stomach a few nights ago. But nothing cures you of that feeling faster than watching the entire Bitcoin environment dealing with this as quickly and efficiently as we did, and the market treating it as a speedbump.
