The funds weren't moved in any sense that is meaningful to selling them, the transaction is for the purpose of tricking simple analysis into thinking gmaxwell is a bitcoin high-roller. A common assumption is that all the inputs of a transaction belong to one entity, it isn't a safe assumption and this transaction proves it.

i need to read up on these werid tx's bitcoin can do, seems interesting.
someone needs to write a book, "a programers guide to bitcoin", learning bits and pieces on the fly isn't as enjoyable as a well written hard cover book
