Not all coins can be store in a single wallet as far as I know but just in case myetherwallet is a reliable web-based wallet for ERC20-based coins. But there is also a similar wallet called MEW. Both are good wallets but be careful in typiing their urls. Not only MEW have a phishing site, also myetherwallet. I have read some cases of hacking because of misspelled urls so be always double check.
Nope, myetherwallet can't be considered as a reliable wallet because that was lack of the security to defend the user's money. just like someone had your private key and he/she was able to steal your amount.
That means the myetherwallet was not secure as the people said.
The mobile wallet seems to be a trend as too many phishing sites just try to copy the myetherwallet. Eidoo with high security seems to be a good choice to store all of your erc20 token and ethereum.

I find MyEtherWallet to be the most convenient for all ERC-20 based tokens, Bitcoin goes onto a paper wallet. I intend on moving onto a Ledger Nano soon.

I'm using myetherwallet for eth and alcoins it's pretty simple and esy to get. Also I'm using waves app for trading sometimes and holding my crypto. My advice not hold all money in one wallet.

Get a ledger nano S. It's a hardware wallet and you'll be able to store many coins in it with the highest security you can find in crypto. Just make sure you write down the recovery seed and keep it in a safe and accessible location for future needs.

I think myetherwallet is the most widely used because of the support of many coins especially erc20, but lately we need to be careful of our MEW security because there are so many thieves in many ways, most thieves take advantage of our ignorance, they use fake links to deceive us and then steal the coin in our wallets

I use several wallets for different purposes: MyEtherWallet as a decktop variant and also for participation in an ICO, Metamask for working with EtherDelta, Eidoo as a mobile client.

Hi.there a many kinds of wallets.online wallets, hardware wallets, paper wallets, mobile wallets etc.Nano ledger and trezor are good hardware wallets.but those wallet's prices high in the marcket.but you can't use one wallet to store all coins.some coins are not supported. For ERC 20 compatible  cons you can use myetherwallet. There are many similar sites like MEW.before access MEW wallet you should chech its URL.It will be a fishing site.you can use youtube to get more details about  MEW wallet.good luck

For token you can keep with Myetherwallet. For other altcoin you need their own desktop wallet. You cant keep bitcoin in neo wallet, that's an example.

Which wallets are the best for keeping a wide variety of altcoins?

For me the best option is myetherwallet and that is what i used right now,. Most of altcoins are compatible in myetherwallet because myetherwallet support all altcoins, tokens or Erc20 tokens, and even the old token, new token or not yet listed on the market, myetherwallet still support it.

Depends on what kind of tokens you are speaking about. If that's ERC20, for example, a lot of people use MyEtherWallet and that's not a bad choice indeed. At least if someone mentions other wallets I'd ask why they are better than MEW first to understand if they are worth it to consider as a substitution, like, at all. It just seems pretty standard nowadays.

Coinomi would be your best bet. I also used Jaxx but let me down, too slow to load, some significant issue seems unable to solve. Plus, Jaxx no longer supports older android phones while Coinomi still supports it.

both of them arent supports erc20 tokens and some new alltcoins , therefor i can say that myetherwallet is still the best wallet among the  rest because it can simply support all altcoins and tokens or erc20 based tokens that most ico used these days, even if its old or new or not yet listed on the market, myetherwallet can still support it.

Yes, coinomi is a good option. For simplicity i actually use coin payments to store my funds, since you are able to automatically forward your coins to an assigned address and transaction fees are subsidized by them currently.

Exodus is another good multi coin wallet, but the amount of coins supported is very low.

It's really preferential more than anything, see which one is your best fit.
