Just a reminder that the campaign is about to start in 20 minutes.
Windows and Mac wallets will be available via the website and http://github.com/warpcoin/warp along with the source code.

To buy WARP you will need a WARP address and a BTC address that you control.
When you input those values at www.warpcoin.com you'll get an unique BTC address where you can send bitcoins.
Once confirmed, your transaction will show up in the website and you'll see your % share of WARP.

OP will be updated a bit after launch!

Let's make a new altcoin environment.
and i remember mercurial ICO, was done same way over a web site and boom, dev gone with funds, so for cleaner and safer way i would suggest you

https://bitcointalksearch.org/user/sebastianju-18640

Well, as far as I remember they didn't even have wallets. Someone even commented "Graphics, language, seemingly high-end but slightly overstated and vague tech... Looks like a previous coin, VERSA, which was an ICO scam." Sounded a bit fishy, right? You can't compare it to this.

I can also give examples on how this crowdfund model did work well: ARCH and VIA for example. It uses the Blockchain API, so all transactions are listed for everyone to see. The only thing that investors are dependent on is if I press "send WARP" at the end of the sale. Which I have no reason not to. And furthermore, there are plenty of other successful ICO's with no escrow at all.

A manual escrow with a forum member, that doesn't offer dead man switch or multi-sig is too much of a pain to do, it's unprofessional and can't be done within this implementation of the platform.

What else can I say, if you think you won't receive your WARP and you really need another forum member to hold the BTC instead, don't invest.
I believe that investors will be able to see that they can have my trust.

escrow?

I've decided on this crowdsale format for various reasons. If an exchange acts as escrow I don't believe it's transparent. You don't know if funds are re-invested pumping the ICO.
Plus, they have ridiculous fees. I've tried multiples times to talk to exchanges and stopped trying when I saw one in particular let a ICO scammer run away with funds because they made some sort of exception.

I've tried multisig addresses - which escrows in this forum don't really like, since they want total control of the funds. So I opted on this platform. It's clean, it works, it shows all transactions, where do they go, from where they came. There is no risk of shadiness regarding reinvesting funds. The wallets and source are provided before anybody sends any BTC. The WARP address with 100% of the supply is ready to distribute as soon as the sale ends.

I don't see a cleaner and safer way.

Let's make a new altcoin environment.
A little over 17 hours to go, a little update on the website: http://www.warpcoin.com
Introducing a new look and the crowdfunding platform.

Offering
1,094,500 WARP (100% of supply)

Duration and Schedule
Sale begins on Monday, 18 Jan, 12:00 CET.
Sale ends on Thursday, 28 Jan, 12:00 CET.

How to purchase WARP?
The sale will be made via the official website http://www.warpcoin.com
You will be able to download the WARP wallet (Windows, Mac or Linux) and get a brand new WARP address.
You will be presented a form where you can then enter your WARP address and your BTC address.
The website will then generate a unique BTC address where you can send bitcoins.

At the end of the sale, the amount of bitcoins you sent, relative to the total amount raised, is the percentage of WARP you will get.
(BTC raised / WARP supply = price per WARP)

Example:

Sale closes on Thursday, 28 Jan, 12:00 CET, and 53 bitcoins were raised. You sent 2.1 BTC. Your share is 3.962% of the total WARP supply.

You will find the terms and conditions of the sale on http://forum.warpcoin.com and on the website.

Launch will be sharp, at noon tomorrow wallets will be available and the sale begins.

Nice clean wallet, congrats

lol you made it? anyway, looks good.
What kind of syncing is it? meaning you can send files to other devices and users?

Syncing will be an integrated service in the desktop wallet.
You'll be able to access files in other devices, such as mobile. It's pure P2P, which means there is no middle man. Your files are shared with whoever you choose to. They are not uploaded anywhere else.
This is a WARP only service, so you have to be running WARP client in order to access it.

Here's a sneak peak of the Wallet QT version 2.0. This is the design that will be implemented!
Sorry the icons haven't been updated yet!

Keep in mind this is what we'll be working on, with integrated decentralized p2p syncing/cloud and optional VPN.

Some other features are being studied too Wink
