Bitcoin is not that difficult to understand, if he takes the time to learn it, he will understand. Age is not an issue for him because he is a professional investor and he has advisors by his side, if he wants to learn about it there are thousands of ways. I believe he didn't like it because he didn't want others to get rich easily, he didn't want to share his wealth with others. I believe that is also why many billionaires have publicly expressed their dislike of bitcoin.

Also, they may publicly oppose bitcoin in the media but that doesn't mean they can't quietly invest in it. This is a financial game, the winner is the one who makes the most money, everything else is irrelevant. So I hardly believe anything other people say but instead I like to look at what they do. I wouldn't be surprised if one day people who claim to hate bitcoin end up owning large amounts of bitcoin.

He can just leave someone else in-charge of his BTC investments (a middleman or third-party). Bitcoin spot ETFs prove to be a great way to invest in the cryptocurrency without the need of any technical knowledge. What's stopping Warren Buffett from doing it? Maybe he's already investing in BTC under our noses. We can't know for sure.

Who needs him anyways? BTC can do fine with or without the support of the wealthy. If it has managed to get this far, it can achieve anything. I have a feeling Buffett's children and grandchildren will get involved in Bitcoin sooner or later. Just you wait and see. Cheesy

We can have other billionaires invest in bitcoin. Why would we still hope Buffett to turn things around from being a bitcoin hater to a bitcoin lover?

Let the old man keep stubborn with what he believed. Enough to hear him was always bashing Bitcoin and crypto. The last time I heard that he said, "Bitcoin doesn't produce anything".  This old man is even worse than Larry Fink.

That's how a Bitcoin hater can turn into a Bitcoin lover. Donald Trump was once a Bitcoin hater but has now become a Bitcoin lover in the political context. But it's not the same for everyone but it's different for Warren Buffett because he's a realist and I think it's foolish to be confident that he'll love Bitcoin at the end of his life. A 95-year-old entrepreneur has never loved Bitcoin, so we can't believe we'll get Bitcoin support from Warren Buffett. If Bitcoin gets the support of another famous entrepreneur, but if it is not supported, there will be no global change in Bitcoin.

Change is constant and it seems you have already sum up the whole answer to this question in your above paragraph. You have mentioned the before haters of Bitcoin who later started to love Bitcoin and that's a good example of change. It's possible that buffett can later change his mind toward Bitcoin, no body knows, but who cares? I don't care, it's for his good and not mine.
No one will ever know unless he's going to broadcast it anytime soon. But it's true that everyone can change and these people that have been disliking Bitcoin has always the chance for them to change their minds and take those criticisms about it to be forgotten. Everyone quickly forgottens when the favor turns into them. And just like what's with the examples, WB prolly have already bought some.

He's in for the money and he can easily say that he doesn't like it because he don't understand it. But he follows where the money is going. He can say that it's a fad, a trend, a bubble that's about to burst soon. Still, that won't change the fact that he might have been doing things secretly that no one knows and he's in accumulation, I hope that thought turns right soon.

If he finally goes into Bitcoin, I believe he will definitely talked about it just like every other before haters are not beginning to talk good about it. Yeah, he is in for the profit and if he archives it any time he decides to go into it, he might not speak about it, it's not certain what he will do.

Well what to expect? He know his words is so powerful so provably he would take advantage to create hype since that will be so beneficial for him in long run. But I don't think there's change of decision towards that since maybe he's currently fine with his stocks investment and don't want to go for other thing that maybe could create a conflict.

If he still hate bitcoin then let's respect his decision since after all we are still benefiting from this coin and their statement doesn't change anything since bitcoin remain as strong currency despite of those negative allegation posted against this coin.

Didn't hear about Larry Fink, need to check what others like Warren would say about the "wizardry" of BTC  Grin

We all know Mr. Buffett is hater. He used to call Bitcoin a "scam" many times. But I believe people can change. We've seen people like Larry Fink, Michael Saylor, Donald Trump, Mark Cuban, and Robert Kiyosaki change their mind about Bitcoin. They hated it once, only to realize they were wrong.

Imagine what will happen if Warren Buffett goes all in BTC. Will his moves be enough to "pump" market prices all the way to Mars? Only time will tell.

Do you think Warren Buffett will buy BTC someday? Or will he stay a hater until the bitter end? Your input will be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Smiley
It's not like one day you say Bitcoin is a scam and the next day you go full in it. In 2022 he also said that if he was about to own all of the Bitcoin in the world, he wouldn't want that because he would have to sell all of them back to people. Btw, as far as I know, one of his companies owns Bitcoins.
I think Warren Buffet won't play with Bitcoin like Elon Musk did. First of all, he is too old, 94 is a dangerous number and second of all, such an old man won't act like a clown and won't start manipulating Bitcoin, especially when to this day he has always been saying that he doesn't find Bitcoin valuable.

Warren is in the twilight of his life. He's 94 years old. He's an old dog. And he's been through it all and ended up successful. I don't think he'll waver on this. Bitcoin simply isn't for him.

Ironic as it may seem, however, Warren has indirect exposure to Bitcoin. He's heavily invested in NU Holdings. He trusted the company with hundreds of millions of dollars. He may or may not be aware but he actually trusted a company that offers NU Crypto via NU Bank.

Buffet trusts a company that trusts Bitcoin.

He does not exercise direct control over said company though, there are other executives and chairmen who run it on a day-to-day basis. Who were responsible for making decisions to use crypto in the first place.

It's not like he's going to actively interfere in the companies to stop crypto from being offered there, but he will always express some sort of disagreement with it.

Warren buffet can not remain a bitcoin hater forever till his end, except he just wants to live in self denial, and to be honest, I believe that by now, he must be somewhere wondering how wrong he as been all the while he as spoken ill of bitcoin.

The problem with some of this big and influential men is that, pride never let's them accept reality, and even when they see that they were wrong, pride won't let them come out publicly to own up to that and right their wrongs.

But however, I believe that someday, buffet will have no choice but to accept and buy some bitcoins for himself and his children, and I believe that this move may likely pump the pric3 of bitcoin since his followers who also believed not in bitcoin, will turn around to believe in it and invest in it too.
To be fair, he is an old dude, 90+ years old as far as I know, and he is doing marvellous with stocks and making good returns. Not that he needs to anymore, at this age he could start doing some badly, but with the amount of stocks he has on strong foundation companies, I doubt he would do too badly.

It means, he can deny bitcoin as much as he wants, if he purchased just a billion dollars worth of bitcoin on the very first day he was asked about bitcoin, then he would have more money than he ever made on his entire life by now. But he denied that chance, and hated it, and he has the right to do that. When you are as rich as him, you do not need every asset, he could hate gold too if he wants, because he makes money and wealthy and very old, so he doesn't need to change anything.

His exact age is not 90 but 94 years old and at this age, starting something new is not a wise decision. You are right, given his status and age, if he starts learning and investing in bitcoin, sometimes it will only make him worse, not better as many people think. If I were in his position, I would not invest in bitcoin either and would continue to hold my conservative views on bitcoin even if I realized I was wrong about it.

The ultimate goal of investing is profit and he not only achieved that but also became the most successful investor in the history of world finance. He has everything a successful investor has and suddenly changing his mind now will only bring him unnecessary controversy rather than benefits. Or even that would tarnish his reputation as he has been known to be anti bitcoin in the past. I think that's what he was thinking.

Even so, he can just not talk about it directly.
Or straight up fill BTC up with words that really have nothing to do with it in reality Grin
He can afford it and be happy with it.

He already owns some bank stocks which are pro crypto. He doesn't really own bitcoin directly. Somehow though, I have a feeling that he already owns btc. He is just shy about telling it because it would make him look bad. Even if he doesn't, like I said, the stocks he owns deal with crypto so he owns btc indirectly and that's as good as owning btc because his stocks benefit from the btc's price actions.

Peter Schiff also hates bitcoin but he accepts btc for his gold which is pretty weird. Don't trust these snakes.
Maybe the pride of saying YES to Bitcoin after saying NO was going to be some hot slap on him base on his personality.

If I am not getting it wrong at all, the goal of investors are basically on making profits on expanding their assets in either long or long term. So i think we don't have to expect him make a public announcement that he has at a time accepted Bitcoin after being an anti to Bitcoin.
Although it is misleading as such category of such monetary global influencer if he can criticize Bitcoin publicly while accepting it behind back of the people because his public awareness could affect the zeal of his followers towards Bitcoin.

So for now, let us keep the silent with much expectation on him to embrace Bitcoin. He may have or not have invested on Bitcoin for now and if he is not ready to make that reveal, we would not know due to Bitcoin decentralizations or probably we should say he should enjoy his wealth with the absence of Bitcoin while recalling Bitcoin would always do well posses its possessions without him Warren Buffett.

Many investors hate him because he hates bitcoin, but after all, he is a legend in the field of financial investment, we should not deny that. Whether he invests in bitcoin or not, he deserves respect.

I do not see anything strange about his reactions on Bitcoin. It's all business. He's written and talked to millions of people about financial investments and wouldn't feel great watching them run to a fresh technology where he knows nothing about. How it operates and generate profits. He'd just have to discourage them on it, since he's got nothing else to tell his followers on Bitcoin aside calling it names.

Warren Buffet is one of the many wealthy people who are conservative, who do not really believe in Bitcoin and how it works. So maybe we can't expect much that he will change his view on Bitcoin and want to invest in it, since he sees it as something that has no real value and will disappear sooner or later. But if we imagine that if he really enters the Bitcoin market, it might make the market positive, since Warren Buffet is one of the great investors and still has influence in the global market.

He is too old and stubborn to change his opinion and I respect that in a way - what I don't understand is the need for a large number of people (even on this forum) to seek Bitcoin legitimation through the investments of powerful people and companies. Anyone who is waiting for the news that "WB, Bill Gates and Bezos invested in BTC" so that they too will invest will waste a lot of time and only shows that they don't know how to think for themselves.

What is the possibility that WB will change its mind? I personally think that it is less than 10% - and in addition, every day it decreases more and more because time works against him without mercy.

What is certain is that when it happens he will be just like some people before him who lick their own saliva or maybe there are some desires and goals to be achieved Cheesy

We know how he views bitcoin so it would seem strange if his previous harsh views change in a short time unless there is a specific purpose. Actually it's just like some politicians today who just want to take sympathy with bitcoin where those who previously hated acting as protectors and putting themselves as if they could make views on bitcoin or could regulate about bitcoin itself but in the end all they need is to achieve their personal desires in something and bitcoin is used as an object as a lure in the end.

Although I, you or anyone else cannot prohibit or force to like bitcoin but in the end for big people like this to change statements and switch from one party to another just for personal gain is a very common thing.
