Do you think that this trend is here to stay or people will gamble less once COVID is better solved.

Probably yes, because people would always love to be physically socialized and may love go to their favourite casino and sports bar. Though online gambling would here to stay and it could still be a good alternative for those who wants to bet to their favourite team while working in the office or staying at home.
I honestly think, online gambling has lessen the number of people going out unnecessarily and spread/catch the virus.
So, once the covid is gone, I expect some slight decline in number of online gamblers because some people might become busy again with their normal routine before covid.
They would really be going back into those normal days on where they can freely go into those physical casinos out there because nothing really beats out the essence or feels on
where a real casino could possibly give into a certain player when it comes to vibes or personal experience rather than making yourself playing in front of a computer. Its true that
people do always love the be physically socialized but well, everything would really have its own market because online gambling wouldnt really become this big
if there are no people who do prefer on playing in online sites than on physical ones. Both could exist and giving service on a particular market or demand.

seeing the chart that is in an upward trend since 2009 it is highly likely it'll stay. sure there may be people who will gamble less after the pandemic but I doubt this will affect the continuous upward trend of the online gambling market and to be honest, we might even see a further increase in the following years as more people are being introduced into online gambling.

and now online gambling is not only fiat but a lot of crypto casinos are being introduced to the gambling community. so yeah, i think the trend will further increase in the coming years. with crypto casinos, there are several benefits that gamblers can enjoy like increased privacy as they don't need to attach their banking details unlike in fiat-based casinos,  faster withdrawals and cheaper fees, just to name a few. so the trend will not die down but instead it will grow in my opinion. if players will recognise these benefits, they will continue supporting crypto-based casinos.

Considering the actual situation, even when Covid ended, the number of people gambling did not decrease significantly, even it maintained a large number and continued to increase over time, the main reason is that the pandemic has allowed people to have too much spare time to gamble, economic pressure has encouraged people to make money online and this path has led more people to become addicted to gambling. The pandemic may be over but the gambling nature has been created, there is no surprise when the monthly income of many people will move into the casino by the end of the pandemic
increasingly agree with the term 'gambling is a habit'...
whatever happens in this world, gambling players will not decrease drastically and also increase drastically. Gambling has become a habit for many people and this business is timeless. technology is growing, so the ease of playing gambling is increasing.

Almost one year have passed with the start of lockdown for covid-19. During those days, everything is shut and people were restricted within their homes. This has made online gambling business make good revenue and good user base. Slowly the restrictions were released and people started to move normally with a mask attached to the face. Now once again the covid-19 spread is getting more vigorous in few countries. Once again my country is planning for a lockdown.

And again because of that plan another sets of people who will fine themselves being entertained by means of online gambling, expect that if that restrictions will proceed, more people will be bored and will take explore online. Seems that it won't stop by now or the wave will again rise up as there are some countries who are experiencing another waves of covid virus which really affecting lots of people who thought that this virus was already been supress.

gambling is not just an activity, but it's a habit.
Maybe the wave of gambling will decrease following the COVID recovery, but I doubt that it will decrease significantly.

Gambling business and activity has increased heavily during COVID. No wonder, more free time (forced sometimes), less social life and a bit of you only live once.

Add campaigns were also heavy on TV, internet and other. Do you think that this trend is here to stay or people will gamble less once COVID is better solved.
That's hard to know unless we get to see the end of this covid-19 pandemic. I want to see it end first and I'm sure that everybody wants to see its end badly.
In theory, if everything goes back to normal the stats will lessen the active people that we currently have since businesses and jobs are likely to go back when things have changed and there's no more pandemic around.

Our daily situation affects the status of online casinos in each country and the pandemic really increased the number of gamblers who have switched from physical casinos to online casinos. So if this pandemic would come to an end, I'm sure that it will also lessen the number of online gamblers but that doesn't necessarily mean that it has a huge impact on the industry.

Not sure because whoever has been gambling will continue to do so, even if there are times they take a break but in the end they will keep on coming back to gambling. So yes, whether there is Covid or not, I'm sure gambling will continue to exist, regardless of how high and low the indicators are I just believe gambling will not disappear and that way, I think indicators about rising and falling interest in gambling are no longer a problem.
We can't definitely be so sure that wave of gambling may end with COVID recovery because i do bet that people may do consider gambling while at home than going out. But like what i said we can't be sure about it, however the probability that people might get enjoy playing outside or going to the real casino game because the entertainment of being in real game was not so much like while playing it online, but i didn't doubt that gambling wave may end together with the end of Covid because lets not forget that gambling do existed first before Covid.

Because of too much time and want to seek some fun and try to earn just a little bit amount I think it's a trend for now and still exceed until the covid is done. Today the online gambling platforms are now a trend because they want to back to the previous days they want to get fun and earn. Even the covid is done let's say they found online gambling becomes more convenient to them less hassle just mostly online transactions.

IMO people will still gamble. Be it occasionally, or heavily.
Luckily in my case is the former. But i do hope COVID go away soon. I miss my sweet baccarat dealer.

too bad there is no data for 2021. i want to see how huge % it gained because i feel that online gambling is in its peak and many countries are recovering from covid19 .
we may have less social life now but we have more social media life because of online technologies .

they continue to enjoy their fun online rather than going to physical casinos and catch covid.
its not fun if you catch covid because of playing outside but gambling is enjoyed best when you are free from illnesses

I don't think so. If at all, it is possible that online gambling will even rise when COVID is gone. When COVID is gone, the economy will recover. A recovering economy will mean that people will now have more sources of income. That means they will now have more extras to be spent on their hobbies including gambling.

Also when COVID is gone, the interest over crypto gambling might stay. COVID made them discover the joy and fun that crypto gambling brings for lack of other options. And now that they are already interested with it, whether COVID will stay a little longer or not, they will be gambling with crypto.

Some gambling chains are already closing their doors here in the country and have since moved into the online platform. Those who gambled for fun on the start of quarantine would have likely developed a habit that they cannot remove anymore. Even if a lot of recoveries were to be recorded and the number of infected continues to decline, I still think that the number of players wouldn't decrease significantly since, again, they have developed a habit. A year of quarantine and lockdowns would have forced people to do something outside of their usual routines, and I guess online gambling would be of them, particularly those who are used to visit physical gambling houses.

Please share the source of that graph, there must be some detailed explanation to that.

While physical casinos are limiting gamblers or some are not even operating anymore, it's expected that they will go into online gambling, easier and safer for them. It's expected that the gambling activity will increase, people does not really struggle a lot as there are some support from the government and some businesses are still operating, some are just working at home so they have more time to explore the online world, if they have interest in gambling then it might be convenient for them to try to gamble.

For me, I think the trend might go down but gambling industry will continue to be profitable in general, especially the online world.

I dont think that people will gamble less after the World cures from covid-19. Why do people even think that covid somehow increased or will decrease gambling activity. These two just done come together. During lockdowns people play online, before lockdowns they play at casinos and etc. Nothing changed. On thing does not impact on the other at all imo.
