It's my personal opinion that ethereum platform is best platform  ever no other alternative of its. So ether is mother of all altcoin I believe it. Waves is another best but waves is and ether is ether.  That's it.

I've seen that these two smart contracts are often used, and the ETH is widely used more often than WAVES. What is the difference between the two platforms?

Waves is not a smart contract plattform - it is a plattform to issue tokens on a very, very simple way (tokens dont have any functionality).

Waves also has a so called DEX (decentralised exchange), where you can trade the tokens of the waves plattform.

This one is true, however in my own opinion waves interface is more user friendly compared to ethereum platform. But, both of them are good, each has different characteristics. Some coins are not registered in waves, and some are not open in eth, vice versa. So, just choose which is more convenient for your coins and tokens.

yes right they are both good but different characteristic that both usable just what you have told that some coins can access or registered in waves and some are in eth so both are can use in a way where we can use on the other hand on how does waves and eth are moving this is why they can compared interms on their platform.

I guess this discussion can raise to a higher pace after October 10th when supposedly the new waves DEX will be released and the game could start to change Smiley
Yes. waiting the see best of waves. After October 10th, its development can be improved. But I am not sure. Just only a comment. Otherwise Ethereum is better and so faster. The two are alt coin. Most used alt coin is ethereum.
Waves also used now a days.

How does waves compare to bitshares? I guess i should just download waves and see. But it sounds like Waves and bitshares are very similar.  I've used bitshares some, not a huge fan, but it works alright. Are there any real advantages of waves over bitshares besides marketshare?
indeed the system given on the platform is almost the same, bitshares also provide exchanger, waves too,
but the difference is waves have smart contract same as ethereum
yes for the contract and platform of waves it is too closely with eth so this is why we can now compare this too but for me they are both good they have difference characteristics i should wait for what waves would be next i think waves have a good future.

Wave platform is much better in my opinion assimilated to the beginner user.
Ether delta is hard to handle. DAX in the wave wallet is much more welcome.
Entering token contracts via metamask is a hassle.
In the wave wallet  everything is automated.

Ethereum and waves are both good platform, we can earn profit in this altcoin if we have a lot of investment. Otherwise you can't tell which is better if you don't try them both. Therefore base on my experience, ethereum is a potential altcoin. As for now it is one of the most trusted alternative coin in the world of crypto currency society.

Just for the public information, Eth didn't launch an ICO in which selling the entire fucking supply for a few satoshis per token and then start a massive

Fake pump to literally trigger a big FOMO, I got a few hundreds myself, guilty as I am, I was under the impression that Waves will clone Eth specially

Smart contracts, stupid as I was just like many others I'm sure of it, there is no future for ICO tokens, what could happen if their team decides to go

Away for a few years without working on project, they wouldn't give back ICO money to investors, but if Eth stops developing people will stop mining

Nothing to lose, they could even use their GPUs to mine something else.

Both of them are good and most crypto users use both platform. They have different features and each would suite each users needs. It's hard to compare both of them because of their different platform. However, I think that waves platform are more user friendly compared to Eth platform which is a little complicated for some users to use.

vitalisk works more for other projects such as omisego, than ethereum itself. while sasha ivanov works hard for waves platform and it is more innovative.
I think waves will be a  really tough competitor for ethereum soon after smart contracts and new dex is active. it really offers too much things and its pos system is nice (except low fees Smiley

They are both great projects but waves is still at the begging of its own journey. It wouldn’t be fair to compare them now. In a year we will have two great platform instead of one .

Waves is simpler and smaller than ETH. Basically it is kind of cheaper version of ETH, that is useful for small platforms to kickstart  Wink
im agree with this opinion...i think Now too many new coins are using ethereum platform. And also the reason I support waves platform more because more airdrop in there haha  Grin

Both are great projects and with no similarity to each others, they are used to different things, ETH is more popular than waves because of adoption and ease of transactions
But waves too is good in that part, waves is not yet complete and will boom later when the plans finished.
