Are the bitcoin addresses in Waves client derived from the same seed? Does that mean that I do not have to backup the private keys of the bitcoin address, but only have to remember the Waves seed to always have access? The same question I have for the Ethereum and ZCash wallet in Waves client.
.
Bitcoin tokens on Waves (WBTC, and other  Ethereum  - WETH etc) are belongs to the same account as Waves itself (one seed per account). But when you withdraw funds to real Bitcoin network (via gateways) you have to own and properly backup private keys of the bitcoin address you enter during the withdrawal process.

I'm curious what Waves fans think of Cardano. Seems like they're all big talk at this point.

Interesting you should compare Waves to Cardano. Waves is just about in the same place as far as market caps go as ADA was right before it blew up.

Waves Lab Announces New Residents

Paytomat is a blockchain-based payment processing system created to help merchants, consumers and crypto core teams to find each other and create real-life traction for cryptocurrencies as an emerging method of everyday payments. The pre-sale starts on 2 April.

Paytomat team will receive:
— Funding allocation: 100,000 WAVES from the incubator’s funding budget in exchange for PTI tokens.
— Advisory support: overall ICO advisory, token economics and market fit.
— Marketing Advisory: consulting on project communications strategy, access to Waves community, joint PR activities.
— Additional resources: networking with potential partners, advisors, funds and private investors from across the globe.

The second Waves Lab resident is Tradingene. It is the first blockchain-based marketplace of trading algorithms, allowing users to create and deploy them to trade cryptocurrencies. During the last three years of development, the team has attracted more than 300 algorithm creators from leading global universities, including mathematicians and programmers experienced in creating trading strategies.

Tradingene will receive a detailed audit and ICO campaign advice from Waves Lab, as well as access to the Waves community and joint PR activities. The project will also gain access to the entire network of contacts and partners of the Waves Lab incubator, including private investors and funds, key crypto opinion leaders and influencers.

The third participant is Digilira. Digilira is a platform that allows users to convert Turkish liras (TRY) into cryptocurrency tokens named WTRY on the Waves DEX. The WTRY token, issued on top of the Waves platform, is backed 1:1 by real Turkish liras. Digilira therefore serves as a gateway for users to switch between real Turkish liras and WTRY tokens. The Digilira company name is a shortened version of Digital Turkish lira. Digilira opened its doors to customers on 11 December 2017 and now serves more than 8,000 customers. Over 10 million Turkish lira have been deposited and withdrawn from the Digilira gateway, and over 2,600 new Waves wallets have been created so far via Digilira.

Digilira has already received a small amount of start-up funding and the prized status as the official Waves gateway of the Turkish lira. As part of the Waves Lab programme, Waves Lab representatives will work in partnership with the project on such issues as adding more cryptocurrency gateways to the Waves Platform, consulting other projects that want to open a local gateway, and developing a white-label solution for quickly launching any gateway.

Yes you only need the seed from the waveswallet to have access to you're funds. That counts for all the currencies what is stored in you're waveswallet.

I agree. The facebook disaster has showed that there is a strong need for decentralized alternatives. Blockchain technology is perfect for it. Although there were failed attempts - as Sasha mentioned - there are already good and successful examples like steemit.

Anyone know what Crypto-Bar.ru is? I got an airdrop to my Waves wallet.

Looks like an airdrop for marketing purposes, received also 1 million tokens. Sometimes airdrops can have a nice value but I dunno about this one

I too received these coins.

I understand that if we create our full node using 10000 waves we can then process fees on our network using our custom token, but this require a lot of security and maintenance knowledge to make sure our full node is safe and well up to date with upcoming waves updates and curently we do not have this knowledge. That being said i'm looking for some informations regarding the possibility to use the waves community to 'mine' by lending their WAVES for a custom token created on the waves platform and get rewards in this custom token. Is this something possible ?

What exactly is the difference between Ride and Rideon? I see that it's more advanced, but how? I'm not a super technical person, so please forgive me.

From my knowledge,

Ride is smart-contract Bitcoin style (the OP stuff), that should allow to develop some basic stuff like multisigs;
RideOn is more advanced smart contract with own programming language (like ETH).

wow, thats cool.

gonna try to buy more , cause its down again , good time to buy more before the rise to the moon

I'm really excited for smart contracts too. When is the release date?

The first step, "Ride", should go public beta at the end of this month. It will enable to create multisig wallets, time locks, etc.

Later on this year, "RideOn" will be implemented. RideOn will be fully Turing Complete and more advanced, like Ethereum's Solidity.

Awesome, thanks. The end of the month is really soon.  Grin I can't wait to see Ride.

I don't know how you guys feel about it, but I thought I'd share anyway. I just saw this new store that is coming soon. It will have Waves merch apparently: https://twitter.com/cryptoandproud/status/976102998953857031

Thanks for sharing that. I am wanting a Waves shirt to show my support. Plus I really like the logo. Unfortunately, that link is broken for me.

Maybe they already deleted that tweet? I can't check it right now as I'm currently connected to my workplace WiFi and they blocked Twitter (bummer). Introducing a Waves merch store to the public would be very great and this would also spread the word about it. You could wear a Waves shirt in your office and if luck is on your side, one of your colleagues may ask about it. You could then introduce him to Waves. Hopefully, they'll ship internationally so that I can buy their products.  Grin

I think the tweet was deleted. I can't find anything about it. Too bad. I was ready to order some stuff.  Angry Is there another place to buy Waves merchandise?

Relatively new coin, but with such speed of development and the idea.
I like their move with T-shirts. I remember how Substratum got a lot of followers in Twitter due to that and big community.

Why is waves so undervalued right now? What features do you guys think will make it more accurately valued?

Once smart contracts are implemented into the project, that will bring out the true value of the Waves platform.  Atomic swaps is another great feature that the team is also working on.  Waves partnerships are constantly growing.  There are many reasons to backup Waves as being undervalued.   Smiley

That makes sense. I'm glad to see the team is working so hard to implement new features. I hope by 2019 they make it to the top 5 or 10 coins.
