I do not understand people who are fan of the waves. Why do you love these waves so much? On their algorithm, very few coins are produced.

Are most of you using the new one now as oppose to the chrome one?

So there is only one desktop client for waves right?  That or this one which is the waves lite client?

When you say enter your seed, you mean enter it manually right?

Payer sa baguette en BTC, c'est possible
Hey all im stilil using the waves lite client and everytime i log into waves, i have that message chromestore is closing and to update to new client etc.

So do we all eventually have to update to new client?  And how long can we continue to use this old client?  It said to remember your seed and i have it.  So is it best to just update the wallets wallet now to prevent issues later on?  So its a desktop client thats like electrum?  If i click it, would i need to input the 15 word seed or would it update automatically?
you can still use it until chrome disable app totally, it's not a problem at all.
just keep your seed saved.
if you want the desktop one go here https://wavesplatform.com/
enter your SEED and all be good
I advice you to try to install it before removing of chrome app to be sure the seed is good and your fund secured

What is hapening with waves? I thought because it has own blockchain, this will be over 50 usd, or price is low because btc situation on market? What do you ppl think about price of this project?

Price is definitely undervalued at the moment, even after considering the huge dip we're in.

So I've been using Waves exclusively for the last month as opposed to me using ETH before. It's been great. The wallets are solid, transaction times and fees great.

And a complete list of nodes can be found @ http://dev.pywaves.org/nodes

It's also among the many links in the second post (first page) of this topic.

Hello,

I would like to inquire about the waves wallet.  Has two versions, PC and online.  The only difference between the two is the online version uses a web browser?  Are they both essentially online clients?  If so, doesn't that mean the blockchain is stored at some centralized location and no one really owns their coins?
yes and no, you can download the node version and run it on your computer if you want the full blockchain at home.

The client only send queries to a node.
Your seed is still on you side and never reach the node.

That's how you don't need to download the blockchain. It kinda work like Electrum.

Every client is connected to nodes. All your privates keys (seeds) on generated client side.
Waves is a decentralized blockchain, likes all the others.

dont forget, Q2 2018, smart contract release... (ride, and ride on)

I'm still riding on. I have been with waves and keep on buying every dip we can never have enough but I stopped buying because I'm just going to hold it for now. Waiting for smart contracts because when this happen, WE might be seeing a lot more trader moving to the DEX.
I think yes, in the future will many traders moves to the waves DEX, due to it has good concept in our trading activities in digital coins than traditional platform for trading especially for the progress of waves, i have found something interesting information about the reasons dex is good can be checked on this link, https://blog.wavesplatform.com/why-is-the-waves-dex-so-awesome-12b789d8c515 i don't want make speculation about the price, let me know about your though. Thanks

Nice article. What I still didn't understand is how it's technically working, as it regards the currencies other than Waves which can be held on the DEX. Are they real or are they just token which represent the real coins? Where are their private keys stored? It is really a trustless system?
Well... It is deep questions about the system of waves platform and your question is too technically, unfortunately i am not the programmers or developers so i am not sure about it, i think it is must answered by the developer of team, i don't want make speculation about it due to it can gives wrong information.

It seems nobody knows about this since nobody is answering to this question, however I think this is a quite interesting thing to know. After all, systems should be trustless in cryptos.

I may have overlooked this question.

Coins like LTC, BTC and ETH are represented by place holding tokens on the Waves blockchain and the real coins are stored by the gateway.
This isn't a trustless solution but until smart contracts and atomic swaps are implemented, it's as good as it gets.

Atomic swap is on the roadmap, after smart contracts (Ride, non Turing complete and RideOn, Turing complete)

https://steemit.com/cryptocurrency/@wavesplatform/waves-ecosystem-visualised

I guess the big evolutionary step for Waves will occur after the atomic swap will be implemented. That's what it would probably give the critical mass to outperform concurrency.

Waves are the name of both, a proof of stake blockchain and the cryptocurrency that fuels that blockchain. Waves enables its users to make custom tokens, which means you can launch your own cryptocurrencies.  With WAVES, it is also possible to decentralize trading and crowdfunding, as it has integrated fiat currency gateways like USD/EUR/CNY right in your wallet.
Projects from 25 industries and 34 countries have already run or will run their tokensales on Waves, Waves is Riding High with Partnership Announcements with Turkish Lira Gateway, Group-IB, Astana International Financial Centre and more!

Good updates, I hope with this new updates from Waves price will kick off I'm still waiting for the smart contract hopefully there will be update on this and I think Waves need a robust and good exchange interface to keep up with the competition.

It looks like there will be a Waves community AMA today. https://kryptocal.com/event/11444/waves-(waves)--community-ama  Grin I am surprised I didn't see anything here on it so I thought I would share in case you guys didn't know.

We are committed to educate the community on the advantages of a distributed network. As the whole concept of decentralization is still a rather new approach, there are lot of question marks, confusion and misunderstandings. In order to create a small incentive for people to spread their knowledge (and learn more themselves), we want to take the initiative and create the WavesGo Education Fund.

Where is the best place to keep up with news about Waves? I check in here pretty frequently and also on Twitter but where is the best place?

I found this Telegram Waves announcements channel quite handy, don't need to track all the different sources, all news directly from the Waves team:

https://t.me/wavesnews

Thanks Smiley I'll join it today.
