Good to see the address generator component will come along. Already stated that I would like to see coin control features, but also would like to see the usual wallet settings such as enable uPNP, allow incoming connections, minimise to the tray instead of taskbar etc. Also would be good to see address name rather than address value in the transaction list. As interesting as the BC development is, and I'm sure it will be very powerful in the future, it really has been a step back in the usual easy to use wallet features that most users would expect.

I also think that the minimization to tray is an important point.
The most other wallets supports this option and I think that it is technically possible to implement.

Also I think to bring into the wallet option off or auto start wallet at boot a system.
At the moment, have to use a special utility that would disable startup wallet

Hello, thanks for your suggestions, coin control features won't be available until we rebase to newer versions of BTC, right now our focus is to build a solid framework on which we will be able to develop features a lot faster. uPNP could be added if people demands it (you are the first Smiley ). We will definitely implement tray functionality.
About usability, this one is interesting because  we have 3 other people with the same comment, although  all of them are technical skilled so they are just assuming that it would be difficult to operate the wallet for new people, interestingly no one actually complained that he/she actually had found difficult to manipulate the wallet  (a little context, we have 260+ different ips using version 2.0.1). So there can be just 3 possible explanations:
a) People do not find WBC difficult   to use
b) All our user base is highly technical
c) We are not receiving good feedback
We need more data to evaluate which of these options actually is the correct one. I personally think it's a good idea to have hard data before changing  paradigm, I agree that  being something new  it could cause some trouble for some people
If necessary we can add some newbie features without sacrificing power and flexibility, for example an in-wallet small tutorial highlighting the most used functions or maybe developing a dashboard with the most common options, another idea would be adding a favorite page where most common components are used. Maybe a combinations of all? What do you think?

It is great to see that development is still strong with Worldcoin.  Since the inclusion of Worldcoin in the book "Cryptocurrency "The Alt-ernative" A Beginner's Reference", Worldcoin has made it through to my next book project.  I plan to publish a book with greater content (6 pages for Worldcoin).  Please visit this thread:

That's excellent news!
Please let us know a rough timeline so we can start promoting your book with our user base in the near future Wink
if you need some info about the unique technologies that distinguish WDC from the rest or want to ask anything (good or bad) don't hesitate to contact us.

Thank you very much for your interest in WDC

Yes, v2 is 64 bit only, you should upgrade when you upgrade your computer Smiley
EDIT: By the way v2 is more stable than any other version because it uses the daemon as its backend (the one that exchanges and miners use)

Thanks for info ! When I go to 64-bit ,I will certainly try V2.

Mine wallet 1.1.0 Chunky Monkey(32bit Win7 Pro) collapsed after new 2.0.0. wallet introduced.Perhaps it tried to auto-update,but since there are no 32-bit version of V2 wallet it collapsed entirely.

I reversed to 0.8.6.2 which works fine and more stable than V1 wallet(which I really never liked).

I didnt try V2 wallet,because Iam on 32bit OS,but for now I really does not need it.

Tongue Cryptsy already died http://blog.cryptsy.com/ and we are still in very good shape

As for the short term direct implications it seems nothing will happen, our best market was always China with 80% of transaction volume, BTC38 and Jubi (in that order) grabbing most of it.
Also it seems that WDC Cryptsy  users are slowly migrating to Poloniex which seems pretty stable but as with every exchange you should be careful...
Another issue to take into account about our  status: Sustained hash rate and difficulty are at all time peak!

It's good to be skeptical in crypto, therefore we just ask for people to follow our progress, every Wednesday/Thursday we release some updates on what the teams is working on;  maybe in a few months you will see that we are really serious in our commitment.

People also is asking a lot what does this BTC dump mean to us. To be completely clear: nothing. We are completely unaffected mentally and financially.
As the previous report highlights we don't need short time gains, cash, IPO nor ICO for neither servers,  invoices or development for many years to come

What's more we would love for BTC to crash to 50$us because at that point we would be probably the only team working on crypto Cheesy

Awesome! Thanks! Smiley

BTW, the DL link in your post works...but the web site gives a 404.

Thanks for the tip! We will check Web page

So the config file has:

DataDirectory=C:\\WorldcoinChain

Does it have to redownload the blockchain or can I point this to the location of the old data directory?

Something like:

DataDirectory=%appdata%\Worldcoin

or

DataDirectory=C:\\Users\\cartman\\AppData\\Roaming\\Worldcoin

Huh

DataDirectory=C:\\Users\\cartman\\AppData\\Roaming\\Worldcoin is correct
It is better not to use OS specific variables

Hi new worldcoin team! Does version 8.6.1 still work?

I am adverse to installers and would rather not have to install 8.6.2 on a burner windows system just to grab the worldcoin-qt.exe...sorry, just the way I am.

I appreciate the work and effort people are putting into this project. Good luck!

Sorry for the late response.
Yes, 0.8.6.1 is perfectly compatible! But some considerations below:

1) Installer is just a tool, not mandatory, you can download and copy files manually as previous wallet, no problem. Download link http://worldcoin.global/wallets/02.00.01/WBC - Windows - 020001.zip of 2.0.1 version
We also modified download page adding this option for people who dislikes installers (you are the first! Smiley )
(Edit Daemons.cfg and change variable DataDirectory where you want to install block chain, use double backslash as separator)
2) In new versions worldcoin-qt.exe does not exist. It is replaced by WorldcoinPanel.exe
3) We strongly recommend to use newer versions because we need to know that enough people is willing to upgrade in order to tweak block chain with newer features.

Awesome! Thanks! Smiley

Not really, we are just migrating servers; also we released the software schedule for this year (not working right now because of migration) but we didn't let people know of our killer features for this year.
Could features have  leaked? Sad
Hopefully no.
