Hi new worldcoin team! Does version 8.6.1 still work?
I am adverse to installers and would rather not have to install 8.6.2 on a burner windows system just to grab the worldcoin-qt.exe...sorry, just the way I am.

Sorry for the late response.
Yes, 0.8.6.1 is perfectly compatible! But some considerations below:
1) Installer is just a tool, not mandatory, you can download and copy files manually as previous wallet, no problem. Download link http://worldcoin.global/wallets/02.00.01/WBC - Windows - 020001.zip of 2.0.1 version
We also modified download page adding this option for people who dislikes installers (you are the first!
)(Edit Daemons.cfg and change variable DataDirectory where you want to install block chain, use double backslash as separator)
2) In new versions worldcoin-qt.exe does not exist. It is replaced by WorldcoinPanel.exe
3) We strongly recommend to use newer versions because we need to know that enough people is willing to upgrade in order to tweak block chain with newer features.

This is the trade graph for btc38 (a Chinese exchange where most WDC is traded by far).
The left section is the first floor at 0.020+ yuans average (0.0035+ usds), that was reached after a year of continuous slide after Scharmbeck fiasco. This period lasted from February 2015 to May 2015 approximately.
After that there was a brutal peak in June 2015 when people realized that WDC didn't die and was under heavy development. This peak was followed by a correction to our current floor of 0.038 yuans average (0.0059 Usds).
It seems that we are getting ready for the next peak and to set a higher floor.
The main reason that it seems it's sliding is because of btc sudden rise, but in general we did pretty well considering that we have some heavy baggage in our backs
It would seem that we are not indexed to BTC any more
Our main issue is that investors are skeptic about our intentions (rightly so); we are all sick of promises and bullshit so it's time we develop first and only then ask people for their money.
Nevertheless, It's amazing that the price stabilized at these levels after catastrophic mismanagement from previous committee. Personally i thought the first floor would be a lot lower, as most of 'old school' coins are now with less mistakes.
As i told to many people, the only thing we want at this stage is for people to follow our progress once in a while, and give us some honest feedback, nothing else. When we complete our vision we know that searching for medium/big investors will be easy.
Let's hope you're right. I have left a bit of coins WDC and I would like you to see this promised growth. How well that a large part of my investment is embedded in a safe invest coin

We didn't rebase because we wanted to maintain full compatibility with previous versions.
We will when all this changes are completely proven to work on the field so you should not worry about that, all blockchain changes will be done as transparent to the user as possible after they are tested thoroughly by Bitcoin team and ours

After Scharmbeck there was some months of chaos, we are a completely different new team with different methods, objectives and policies in place.
We post news every Wednesday.
Also development is at full swing, we expect releases using our new brand platform once per 2 months worst case scenario, so check news often!
