I think there should be a way the industry can go about it without relying on a centralized organization like SEC, I think if DAICO concept can be implemented it will go a long way in bringing more sanity to the ICO market.
I've heard of DAICO and it was suggested by Vitalik, I think this is pretty good.

Actually there are many other ideas that are given by investors too. But if its going to be better than the current ICO system, you guys should look at the most important part and that is investing to the trustworthy ICO and people that are running the ICO. I understand the need of having no intervention with a third party / government agency.

Not just a model. Another ICO with the best features of all.
I mean the one which everyone will look  up into and also those aspiring ICO project starters.
It was garbage right now. They just keep on creating over and over again without even searching if one ICO already have the same feature.

Something Unique is a must. It must be something that will blow the minds of investors.

For ICO investments to be more competitive and profitable, we need a new ICO model. This present ICO model is not progressive in nature and it gives room to all forms of manipulation from project owners. We need a model that gives investors rights in decision making of a project, we need a system that will made project team to be accountable. With a new ICO model, investors right will be protected and even secondary buyers will be excited to buy the coin or token on exchange once they know that the project will not be a fly by night project or a slow dying projects.

What do you guys think about this?

These are some of the issues regulation would take care of if it comes to fruition. Also I think there are many projects where holders of the tokens make decisions by voting.

Vitalik proposed a new model called DAICO, which attempts to address some of these issues, have you looked into it?

Here's an explainer: https://cointelegraph.com/explained/what-is-a-daico-explained
hopefully the new system will really bring change to the ico market. as currently operated the ico, just is not good. a change is urgently needed.

The problem also is that as startups, plans change and it's important to be able to pivot or be agile, so any kind of strict governance on deliverables may not necessarily be a good idea for new companies, as it traps their roadmap and creates this kind of internal incentive structure that may not be aligned with the success of the company long term.

I think things like a reverse dutch auction, where at least the initial buyers and late buyers lock in the same price at the end of the ICO is at least a fair model to mitigate dumping from the earliest investors.

Your thought is good, but how do you make the implementation of such a model a reality and who will monitor and control the market for ICO projects? Of course, this market has its negative sides and at the moment the ICO market is experiencing very hard times, but in this way, it is undergoing changes right now and possibly, after stabilization of the overall market situation, the situation with projects and inventory will improve.

I also fully agree with this opinion, because at the moment the ICO does not bear fruit and for the most part it is because of scams. If there was only some good projects, then they would and a hard cap would be collected and the decline of the cryptocurrency market is not so much would have affected the lack of investors.

It would certainly be great to get a new ICO model, especially under conditions when interest in projects has faded dramatically. But to offer something really new and, if possible, satisfying the requests of all parties interested in the ICO, is almost impossible. Too different from all the views on this problem. In the near future, we are unlikely to see something new.

We need something new, and ico looks chaotic with some fraud and the project failed.
there must be new rules in ICO so investors are interested in investing. I am worried that I will eventually disappear.

Agree completely that there are too many problematic moments with the ICO process. And this direction should be transformed in some way, because of scammers, team that do nothing for developing the project and other factors influence on the whole process mostly in negative way. And we all need some changes, but the idea of ICOs is good for collecting money for the project especially when you do not have enough assets to develope your creative idea.

The only thing that can be added to an ICO to make them more accountable and transparent is regulations, if it is not implemented in ICOs, things would remain the same.

Agree with you, but if you had a good new model of ICO, it would be nice. Because so many scams in there, and it so annoy thing.

We need a model that gives investors rights in decision making of a project
We have a lot of projects already and if each investors will have the right to make more projects, you'll see a very crowded marketplace for these projects.

we need a system that will made project team to be accountable.
I agree on this.

This should be the job for the SEC to register these ICO makers so they will be accountable if they are planning something bad for the money of the people. But there's also a concern that crypto's purpose will be gone if SEC will start to intervene.

I think there should be a way the industry can go about it without relying on a centralized organization like SEC, I think if DAICO concept can be implemented it will go a long way in bringing more sanity to the ICO market.

I would be very happy if you criticized the current system, presented a new one, which would have been deprived of the problems of the previous one. Everyone can criticize, but to write something new and improved is a very big work.
It seems to me that it is necessary for the project team to receive the investors' money for a while when it has completed the item in the roadmap. Many ICO projects now collect tens of millions of dollars. I only have a roadmap and after a year they don’t have anything, but only spend money for nothing!
