You don't understand, some are concerned that people who are interested only in the money are the reason for the price decrease, which is concerning them  Grin Grin
I think you're the one who's not understanding things. The point of my post is that we shouldn't care about who does or thinks what.

The price is going down for the simple reason that the mad demand of last year is no longer there, and the market needs to adjust itselfs to that by finding the right (way lower) level to settle at. It happened after the 2013 bull run and it happens again. It doesn't require rocket scientist level of knowledge to understand that.

Sometimes I wonder if BTC drops to 50 how many will still be around talking on how BTC is great and improving their lives.
Probably not many, because that would indicate that something went horribly wrong with crypto in general.

Blockchain technology is still in its infancy. There is still a great deal to be discovered and explored and for that reason and many others, there will be challenges in this field in the near foreseeable future. What I mean to say is, right now is the time for experimentation and mistakes because we are still young and have lots of time before we start worrying about serious issues. Scammers will always be there no matter what new technology will come along. There are people out there who have a knack of finding money the easy way who don't care who gets hurt in the process. We just have to protect ourselves.

I agree 100% with this answer. And i personally believe it's the main reason by people can't use it for everyday payments.

Banks want to destroy it because it's decentralized but what they don't notice is that it won't really replace fiat currency. It will just be another option for the people. There is a good amount of people in this world and in the future that will only increase exponentially - Lot of market to compete. Same thing was thought about television replacing theaters and we can see now it depends on peoples taste. Same with netflix and TV.

Bitcoin is still young and for that reason it's still extremely unstable. It will take some years, but i believe the day where it can be used for daily transactions will come. We only need to wait, since we can't control what other people decides to do.

As long as they don't invest more than they could afford to lose the risk is minimal. Even if they do, they don't lose anything unless they panic sell their stash.

Those who took loans to buy crypto however (which is as dangerous as investing too much, probably even more dangerous) will get fucked so bad.

That applies to  all the investment decisions actually.

In the end we all are here for the money in some way. If anybody tells you that he is here for the tech, he is lying.

We know the tech behind btc is good, That's why we expect big returns for investing in it and I see nothing wrong with it.

Of the entire population of bitcoin users around the world, only 1.3% of people who use bitcoin as an exchange / payment tool, this is quite sad. There are many factors that make people reluctant to use bitcoin as a payment / exchange tool, one of which is a government ban and legislation in every country.
is that a big problem? I think many people think that it will be too valuable and it is a pity if bitcoin is used in buying and selling daily necessities. I do not deny that the investor population is more dominant in the market, crypto is more convenient to use as a digital asset.
Its not a problem its opportunity for growing, what will happen when we come to 10%? Where will prices be in that moment?
I think what op is trying to say that we need better society general, and maybe cryptocurrencies can help us with that. I said maybe cause there is still a lot of confusion about cryptocurrencies, what they can be used for, all those platforms that rise around, what is their purpose. People are generally uneducated, like op said most of them are here for making profit and they don`t care about technology, they don`t support better society, they just bring flaws from traditional system into this new one. Scams, frauds are nothing new in this world, but with smart contracts maybe that can be lowered in the future, I hope for that my friends.

quite right, we are at the beginning of the road to blockade, and we are a new decentralized generation, soon all these old people from the management of banks and stock exchanges will be replaced by younger and progressive ones and they will implement the technology.

I have only gained good things from cryptocurrencies (they have changed my life for the better), however, I am frustrated at those who are in for money, and only money. They hurt themselves as well as cryptocurrencies future. I am sad that I still can't use bitcoin to purchase the things I want, as it isn't used as a payment currency/method. I am sad that there are big financial institutions that want (and do their best) to wipe the crypto world out, and instead of working together as a crypto-community to thrive, we are fighting, arguing, and scamming each other. Where I live, the government relentlessly tightens and destroys our financial lives—I was lucky to have found salvation in cryptocurrencies when others struggled.

We need to show the world that we are not just a bunch of wanna-be millionaires, that we actually care.

Many times I have come to think the same thing, but we must bear in mind that this whole cryptocurrency issue is so new that we have not yet been able to measure the real potential that it has. Therefore, there are many people who have approached this as investors, because they do not know any other way of being involved in it. But perhaps when there is a greater education and knowledge about the usefulness of cryptocurrencies to facilitate our life, then all those people that today only worry about the price will learn to see the cryptocurrencies from the different approaches that this field of technology offers.

We need to change always because everything are changing and we have to behave according to those. in hear we have to talk bitcoin. The price of the bitcoin is going down and it is in the deepest position in this year. Therefore we hadbetter buy bitcoin and hold now. Price will be up in near future. Because there is a higher market xapacity and good stable condition for bitcoin.

There are few people in crypto that really understand the point you are trying to bring out that is the daily use of cryptocurrency for buying and selling of goods as it has to do with our daily consumption, but most other have seen cryptocurrency as an avenue to get rich quick in that cause they are obsessed with the current happening in the price of the market. Bitcoin most especially have help me a lot e.g my understanding of online transactions have increase all to my knowledge of bitcoin.

Where I live, the government relentlessly tightens and destroys our financial lives—I was lucky to have found salvation in cryptocurrencies when others struggled.

Bottom line you're also in ...just for the money.
This is the only aspect of cryptocurrency that you've touched.

Bitcoin has helped you financially!

Of the entire population of bitcoin users around the world, only 1.3% of people who use bitcoin as an exchange / payment tool, this is quite sad.

Source for this? Not saying is high or low but can't find a reliable source or a method to approximate it.

It's important to forget about what others are doing and just focus on your own use of Bitcoin.

Bitcoin's price fluctuates and that attracts plenty of noobs and speculators, just let them do what they want to do. Everyone is free to participate in this industry how they want, so why should we even care? We're not governments patrolling the crypto streets to tell people with a forcing tone that they are doing the wrong thing.

You don't understand, some are concerned that people who are interested only in the money are the reason for the price decrease, which is concerning them  Grin Grin
Sometimes I wonder if BTC drops to 50 how many will still be around talking on how BTC is great and improving their lives.

I think that many people here are just not realistic or reasonable.
It's nice to have dreams to become rich, to have a lot money but such unrealistic dreams shouldn't influence our daily lives or decisions.
We should invest based on rational thinking and long term goals and plans, not based on emotions and greed.

Hm....why are you investing ?
Not to gain money? Not to become rich or at least wealthier than now?

My god, some people are still trying to pose as angels while they get a boner every time BTC goes up in price.

Without the approval and support of the government nothing will happen. No matter how good our intentions are, without the legalization of cryptocurrencies,we will not go far.It is necessary to explain and prove the validity of their actions. We need to attract more and more people and introduce technology in all spheres of action. Then maybe we can do something.

I think most people, who have come in crypto because of money, won't change their attitudes. But it is okay. Investing help crypto rise and popularize, so don't worry about that.

Crypto can really help those in countries suffering from financial instability, just look at venezuela. If the petro can turn things around for them then they can act as a model for other countries around the world.

The Petro is a scam that is controlled by Venezuela's government (who previously stole all of the citizens money)... Bitcoin is a way to store wealth that government can't control. Don't confuse people in crypto that altcoins of any type are anything like bitcoin... that is the first problem with the money hungry, crazy hype we all see.

Bitcoin needs to succeed, in a way the governments and financial institutions cannot deny this is a storage of wealth that anyone can use....that will take a LONG time.

That won't happen until long after the ICO and Altcoin FOMO dies down...and it will die down when there is less (or zero) money in that system for scammers and snake oil salesmen.

If you ask anyone who has recently bought Bitcoin, why did you buy it? He will tell you that he wants to become rich.
This is not so bad, at least the voices that link the dollar to dark activities have declined.
Also, traders and big centers can’t be blamed for accepting Bitcoin, those fluctuations make it very dangerous.
It is a reality that we must live with but in the future may be used as currency.

We should invest based on rational thinking and long term goals and plans

I agree and the key phrase here is "long term goals" because there's nothing wrong with wanting to make some money but the people that have adopted Bitcoin in the last year are trying to become rich overnight. Most of the best investments take YEARS to make money off of. If you can get a 10% annual return on an investment you should be thrilled...but Bitcoiners get upset if they aren't getting a 50% return in one month. It's just not realistic.

This market has plenty of room for hodlers, speculators, noobs, etc. It doesn't mean that I like the way it is (I actually dislike mainstream adoption), but it's an unstoppable force. The only thing you're doing by looking at how others use or misuse (according to your standards) is stress out yourself.

If you think current level of mainstream adoption is bad, then wait for the shitstorm in the forthcoming years. It will be way worse.
