China will never have a 300 million army, precisely because it's impossible for a society to support armed forces of 25% of its population. That is 50% of its male population. They don't have that many males fit for military duty and they would need many of them for economic reasons to support the war. Of course, logistic problems would be a problem.

Peace is what a human search for true happiness. Arrogance and ego ("I" and "Mine") is the root for disturbance of peace

If survival of the fittest is truly natural then I can say this:
War is a natural way of getting rid of competition in a communal/ tribal/ colonial/ empirical/ national/ global/ galaxial/ universal level.

When Darwin stated "survival of the fittest", it was meant the one most able adapt to change. Change is what causes issues. Adjusting to change will lead to a more stable nation, rather than having the largest military.

For example, China has the largest conventional military by sheer solider count. However, at a time of war, when resources are very limited, how well will the country fair? Trying to feed 300 million soldiers at war? Good luck.

It depends on the kind of war. War usually creates inflation and insecurity on the value of fiat money. Unless it's a general war that can affect the Internet, a war might push the price of bitcoin up. But peace is more important than the value of bitcoin.

I Declare World Peace.

Join me. I do it everyday.
what does that really do or change though? i can't deny it.. i'm just a half glass empty. at the direction the world is going today, our species will have reached it critical mass. it's getting close to the time when more people start dying off than the ones that survive. once the world economies collapse, a lot of money is going to get lost.. and production of everything, especially food.

Survival of the fittest is indeed natural, but nature lives on a permanent war: eat or be eaten. We built societies that follow human rules precisely to escape that situation.
In many occasions, eliminating competition is inevitable for self preservation (No other way about it, unless you are content of what shit life throws at you….). And sadly, only our own species is capable of being that competition.

peace is great and most of us want it.. but the truth is that you don't make money and gain power through peace, you do it with war. want natural resources? raise some false flags and invade a country. you can buy guns from your friends who make them.. every body wins, except the commonfolk.

War is a very complex subject, it's not only about money/ressources, it's also about power, insecurity or national pride.

Communication breeds peace. The internet will bring more peace than any government ever could.

not really,  have a look at North korea or china

I can't even begin to understand how "North korea or china" make your point. Neither have open communication over the internet. Both have lots of government.

Ah, you we're being sarcastic... as those are obviously example of my point exactly. Sorry, I'm slow today.

 i misunderstood, sorry  Grin

That makes more sense. Smiley

This video at 8:20AM broke my heart.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RBQ-IoHfimQ

Damn man...

It's worthless typing a page about why do I think war sucks.
But just imagine to be in the same pair of shoes with her and try to grow up your kids as a friendly people. One day maybe - world on planet earth will understand. That peace is a gift from Gods or from whom but anyway a gift - because what is most important for you? Freedom and peace? Most of you? Perhaps.

Can't we just live together without killing anyone around?

Ok. There are differences, different religions, cultures.
And perhaps for some tribes death and killing means something else.

But problem is they do not spread it worldwide.

But yes yes I know.
I really do know why "war" will never ends.
I know.
Money.

Who's the girl in video , is she's actor of the real girl got affected by the war.? 1second everyday and it said so much..
I'M From India a only few understands what Gandhi really stood for. In one word if i have to say it is/was " PEACE " .

Gandhi was lucky because he only faced the British Empire where civilization still available.
