With Thompson's return, this only intensified the GSW performance!
Let's see how GSW will play in this NBA Finals.

they are favorites for the title now, no matter Celtics or Heat reach the final
expected more from Dallas, but they are obviously too dependent on Doncic, as decade ago on Nowitzki, and it is really hard to get the title that way

yeah, this topic could be closed now, and after seventh match between Heat and Celtics to open new one for NBA finals

In this final of the conference between Warriors vs Mavericks we can see, the GSW returned to the way it was before...

I confess that I was surprised with that score, I imagined in this conference finals would end 4x3 or 4x2  (Warriors).

With Thompson's return, this only intensified the GSW performance!
Let's see how GSW will play in this NBA Finals.

The Warriors had the best record in NBA history before KD joined.  They didn't need KD, KD needed them to win a ring.  Interestingly, KD and Kyrie's old teams seem to be on the way to the Finals (Warriors & Celtics) while his new superteam was a first round exit that appears to already have been broken up once and will likely get broken up again next year.  I think Golden State will be just fine without KD...

Right. Golden State Warriors are already established as dominant Warriors before Kevin Durant's arrival there. This team is doing good without Kevin Durant much more especially since their bench players are also doing their best this playoffs. It's like there are lots of Splash Brothers there aside from the original duo of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson - which is now finding his shape too after the long rest because of injuries.

Anyways, this series is now over and we can now ask OP to lock this thread.

The Mavericks had a very bad series against the Golden State Warriors. But this season they were still successful. They need an upgrade in their frontline for sure and also they need to keep their guard trio. The Mavs defense fell short in the series. Good job by Jason Kidd improving the team a lot this season. I hope they have a great off season and come back as contenders next year!

Warriors is just a tough team to beat after all, I think they now have all the odds to be the champions once again in the NBA, they're up in the rankings once again. Those outside shootings are just impossible to contain from the Warriors, they are a different breed tbh. I think it will be Celtics vs. Warriors in the NBA Finals.

Well, they have proved it before and they did it again this year. This only means that they don't really need KD to win those championships before, KD needs them.
What the Warriors only need is being healthy 100%. Iggy wasn't even playing, he was a great addition for both offensively and defensively.
I'm glad to see them once a again on the biggest stage.
I am also expecting the Celtics to win the ECF.
They snatched out being champion without KD as I remember,, it was just purely those former team members curry,Thompson, green and now some additional which do plays well on their role even though health would be the main issue yet these fellas are really that prone to injuries just like what happen on some of them which do really reults into long time rest which did really affect overall performance of the whole team. Celtics vs Gsw for sure on last or finals.

KD though was a big help as he was clutch in the games that gave them championships and KD was the MVP. So yes, the core of Curry, Thompson and Green is still intact right now, but we should give KD his credit during his time as a Warriors.

But now that he is gone, the core is working very hard to win another ring. And with the help of Poole and Wiggins, they could be the NBA champion this year.
Yeah, its still recognizable on how KD contributes on achieving that championship but this one proves out that they arent needing anymore superstar to able to snatch out a ring once again.
Staying up with the basics plus proper execution in both offense and defense is the best recipe on winning a game.Just like that dude said above that i wasnt expecting too that they
would really be having an easy path on getting win against Mavs but so be it with having those cores then its not surprising and lets see on how they would go up against
with the finals.

It was a very easy job for Warriors in this. I didn't expect this. Mavericks should have been able to fight really hard against them. Their performance against Suns was just fabulous and I expected to see the same level of effort here in this too. I assume that even Warriors weren't expecting this series to end this much quick. Warriors have started to play better as a team now. They don't rely on only one player anymore. In addition to Curry and Thompson, a few more players have started to show a good performance recently.

Game 5 tomorrow and likely be the last game in WCF this season.

I would agree with that statement.  The Warriors let their foot off the gas last game but I think they're ready to put the Mavericks away and send Luka on a trip to Cancun.  The guys on TNT have to be ready to do their fishing routine tonight, as it will almost certainly be the end of the Dallas Mavericks' season.  They did much better than I thought they would, but they just don't have the depth of talent that Golden State has.

And just as expected, the WCF has been finished earlier and the Golden State Warriors are the ones who will advance to the Finals. They chose to finish the game at their home where they have their own set of fans to boost them and they would make the fans proud again. The Dallas Mavericks was indeed good as they have reached the conference finals even though they don't have that much experience, today, the Warriors has been unstoppable to the point that even the Mavericks didn't won even just for a single quarter.

Warriors had an early rest, they will be fresh in the NBA Finals, much fresher if the series will not end tomorrow and there will be a game 7 on the ECF. Warriors also have experienced some injuries, especially for Otto Porter Jr., but I think he will be back in the NBA Finals. If we compare the Warriors to the Celtics, Warriors are a healthier team.

Well, it seems that you've predicted correctly because the Miami Heat dominated the Boston Celtics earlier and forces Game 7. That means more rest for the Warriors and time to watch how Celtics/Heat play so that they can prepare what to do. Also, Coach Steve Kerr and the whole Golden State Warriors have some news as they are expecting Gary Payton II to return for the Finals in Game 1. That's an addition asset to them as they lack defensive players.

Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors on winning the NBA Western Conference Finals. They are now back again in the Finals scene after years of being in a build-mode as they have struck with injuries too. A good effort too by the Dallas Mavericks as their journey here in the playoffs is impressive. I can't even imagine they will be in the Top 4 as they faced some competitive teams along the way, against Utah Jazz and the top seed Phoenix Suns where only a few think they can beat that top seed team.

Warriors for me have a high chance to claim the NBA title again. Andrew Wiggins can be able to man-to-man both Jimmy Butler of the Miami Heat and Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics. He admits he has a hard time defending Luka but with that role, he has defensively, it contributes to his experience guarding the main scorer of any team.

Do you really think that this is the reason why they will win? I mean surely that will help them a lot, but they are so good that even if they played back to back, they would have been good enough to beat both Celtics and Heat, they are that good right now. It looks like 2015 Warriors all over again. They were so good in 2016 as well, they had a 73 win season, people forget about that because Lebron spoiled and ruined their year Cheesy.

Curry got MVP unanimously as well, everyone voted for him and that is the only in MVP voting history, and got 73 wins, and managed to beat everyone and were up 3-1 as well. One more win and that was the best season from any team ever. They are looking like that in this playoffs, great job.

No dream is too big and no dreamer is too small
Congratulations to the Golden State Warriors for winning the western conference finals. They really are a great team. Even this early I think it is safe to assume that they have a great chance to be the NBA champion. Special recognition should be give to Klay, Wiggins, and Green for stepping up and taking over the game when their star Steph Curry is being strongly defended, at least in this game. Looney is also contributing a lot to the team's effort with his strong rebounds.

Agreed with this. GSW only proved that they are still strong if they have the complete line-up despite there bad run years when there star players are injured. I want to commend Luka Doncic on the fantastic run of the Mavericks on this season despite his teammate not playing well most of the time. He single-handedly carried the team during a crucial time when Mavs need the points to come back into the game. Without Luka, I'm sure Mavs will not go this far. I hope Mavs will rebuilt and get a good center to complete there line-up and to strengthen there defence.
The 2 years recovery for Klay is all worth it now, he came back stronger and prove to still be a good player despite of what happened to them. Yeah, without Luka, Mavs will be on a different situation. Mavs should recruit more good players where the team doesn't need to rely on one player only, they should play as a team. Anyway, Congrats for Steph Curry for winning the finals MVP he really deserve it.

The Dallas Mavericks won't reach the Western Finals if not because of him, Luka literally carried the team to reach this place. I agree that they should invest in more consistent and useful players so that they will be much stronger, but let's see if we're going to see some new faces in their uniform.

Warriors can now have some rest and wait for the winning team in the Eastern conference.

It was a great game and Steph deserved the first ever Conference Finals MVP award. I agree with what Draymond said in the postgame interview with the TNT crew that they’ll be playing the Celtics next. I expect Steph will be holding up a Finals MVP trophy at the end of that series.
I wonder if there are odds for MVP Finals, for GSW I'm thinking it could either be Klay, Green, or the favorite Steph. For Celtics, no wonder the favorite will be to Jayson Tatum or either for Smart and Brown. If Draymond Green is expecting Celtics to be in the NBA Finals then I guess there's a threat for them on that, they are expecting something from this team.

I guess experience for Celtics team and coaching staff isn't at par if we compare it to the Warriors but we will see that in the Finals, of course if Celtics win. Celtics coaching staff aren't that bad at all too.

The last time I check, it was Curry who is the favorite on the Finals MVP race,  and Klay and Green have very attractive odds, so if the odds are available again, you can put your bet if you want.

I think all the available odds will be presented once the ECF is over. Maybe tomorrow, we will see the new ECF champion and with that said, it will be the Warriors vs Celtics in the Finals. Next to Curry, I think Thompson has a decent chance because he can take over the game like what he did in game 6.

Celtics vs Warriors is going to be a nice series, Curry and Klay Thompson vs Tatum and Brown, such a good match up. This is the first time for the Celtics young guns to be in the NBA Finals, so I hope they won't panic as the Warriors are a different kind of an animal as an opponent, they have a dealth line up.

This is a nice series, actually, I was almost emotional when watching the warriors received their trophy. They were a good team, but due to injuries, they struggle, and now that they are back in the NBA Finals, I'm sure they will play hard to win another ring.

Klay Thompson is really a huge piece of the team, becasue with him now playing, the team gets better and better.
